Just goes to show that Maul is in his element when in battle, no matter how much he changes. It was also like this in his final duel with Kenobi with that deathly silence.
Yeah...bit of a shot to the foot there on Ahsoka's part. She told not only a Sith Lord to cause chaos, but MAUL of all Sith Lord's to do it. The Senate was going to have questions and if he didn't provide an explanation soon, it may have just used the Clone army's other emergency orders to remove him.
AAT SVĚT! It could be a possibility given the fact that Palp did a sith ritual and doing so he was spreading fear across the galaxy, fueling anakin’s anger
Aside from force pushes and force chokes from Maul, he never really seemed to use the Force all that much. And everyone knows of him wielding his dual bladed saber. This fight scene completely changes that.

It's a small nit-pick detail, but I love how he got the Clone's arm chopped off, took the fore-arm armor with the communication device and tapped into their radio
I love how despite the chip's influence technically turned them into mindless machine, the clones are absolutely panicking against murderous Force-user.

Wise One1494 exactly. It was a treat to see him advance down the hallway without his saber, instead needing to use the wall’s metal plates to take out his opponents. Not to mention his last move to chop off the arm in order to get in on the clone’s communications was a really smart move. He used the clones’ decision to close off parts of the hallway to his advantage for a brief moment.
My favorite part about this is that the clones don’t have bad aim here, their shots are directed exactly at maul. The beginning they shot a little like storm troopers but I mean it’s darth maul, anyone would be spooked. But in the generator room they aimed precisely at him but Maul just dodged them at such close range like a beast. U see him move his head and body to dodge. Maul even used a HELMET to block. What a beast lmao. The clones were just out of their league next to maul
It`is very satisfactory to see clones getting slaughtered by someone who know how to really fight and is not betrayed by suprise. He is not a prey as jedi were, he is a hunter. Too many times Maul was just running back for the sake of plotline. In fact - he wanted to lure Anakin to Mandalore and eliminate him, but order 66 happened.
I know next to nothing about actual combat but an idea came to me. With a group of people, it might make sense to aim around your target while others aim at them, so that if they doge any shots, they might get hit by one of the shots aimed to their side.
This is the second character Sam Witwer has played in Star Wars who got to bring down a Star Destroyer tier ship single-handedly. Galen Marek would be proud.

@@messengermal5298 not to mention she herself was once a Jedi as shown in the flashbacks after Dooku betrayed her on Sidious's orders and that it was her master's death by pirates that turned her to the Dark Side
I think its more along the lines of her not being able to directly doing it herself and bear witness to it. easier to have Maul do it, plus she's focused on trying to find out what caused them to turn on her and then rescue Rex and having to kill her troops could potentially hinder that so Maul doing the dirty work allows her to focus and without potentially hundreds of troops after her
Every time I watch this I always hear “Ridge is down” and it hurts me because it’s the same clone from the movie with the scene in the gunship where a clone don’t know which goes “Ridge your comms got static” which means he was one of the OG 501st clones
He only slaughter them all because unlike the Jedi who remain loyal to these clones until their betrayal was revealed maul still see them as his enemies. And like Darth Sidious always says even though he regrets referring to it .”there are no match for him”.
The Dark Side is fuelled by hatred, pain and fear. Maul could pull on the power of the pain and death echoing through the Force from across the galaxy as Order 66 wiped out the Jedi. Anakin did this, and it was said in canon that he was never as powerful as he was during the march on the Jedi Temple, as his dark powers fed off all that fear, pain, betrayal and death. Maul could pull on his own deep seated fear of death, and irrelevance. Maul could pull on his hatred for Sidious, Kenobi, and even Ahsoka - who I'm sure he hated for casting him aside, and using him as a mere distraction. In this moment, Maul was more powerful than he'd ever been before.
@@jasoncross9354 That's doesn't mean he is stronger in raw power. The users of force become more powerful by their own individual connection in the force, Vader became more powerful than Anakin (canon) many months after Order 66 because of his immense and growing hatred that increased his own power in the force and increased his own connection with the dark side, there was no power-boost until that time, and no circumstance or external forces helped him to become more powerful, the dark side will not make you stronger just by existing. Maul has always been this powerful, there is nothing to object to. Sidious, considered by the vast majority of people to be the most powerful force user in this era, was evenly matched in the force battle by Master Yoda during his confrontation in the middle of Order 66, some would even say that he outclass him for an instant th-cam.com/video/1JV2x3p_Qn8/w-d-xo.html (and they would be right). It was Sidious's best attack, if we go by the line some want to impose, Sidious should have killed Yoda very easily since the darkside is now greater. Anakin, already a Sith Lord, full of hatred and connected to the dark side, and with his Sith eyes, The Chosen One, was EQUALED by the power in the force of Obi-Wan, all in the middle of Order 66 where the dark side is stronger th-cam.com/video/Muzzd-pA0g8/w-d-xo.html. If we follow the idea some want to impose, Anakin should have easily destroyed Obi-Wan here, because even under normal conditions he was already a little more powerful than Obi-Wan in the force, then no, there was no power boost here because that never existed. In fact, going into the events of The New Hope, when the dark side is more powerful than ever in the whole galaxy, Maul's power is far from his best and he is already weakened and disturbed, as we already saw in Rebels. You can't compare the Jedi with Maul. It's just not the same. The Jedi are compassionate (most of them), they all had grown a connection with the Clones who were their brothers in arms by this point having fought, survived and bled with them. They were stabbed in the back and were too much in disbelief to fight back in earnest- like you see Ahsoka here (even though she survived), she avoided killing them even though they were actively hunting her down. Maul has no such attachment, he has fought and killed clones on numerous occasions plus of course he is a Sith Lord- a powerful one at that.

Sometimes I wonder if Maul and other dark side users would have actually grown briefly stronger during Order 66. So many wielders of the light side were brutally murdered at once. If there was ever a way to channel pain through the force, this was it. Like we'd seen Maul do some impressive stuff, but literally ripping apart an entire hyperdrive on his own seems several levels above everything else.
Obi wan is able to go head to head with Vader as he is the one who trained him and Vader has a desire for vengeance and attachment towards him. Damn... Ahsoka probably regretted letting Maul out of his cell. The former Sith may not have his lightsaber anymore, but this scene pretty much proves he doesn't need it. I mean, he just casually walks through the ship using the Force to protect himself and kill any clone that gets in his way. She probably regretted it when he stole the shuttle but ultimately if she didn’t let him out there would be a lot more Clones after Ahsoka.. so it probably saved her life
@@HarrisonJames True, as Maul slaughtered probably a couple hundred clones during his rampage (counting off-screen). Though I'm certain Ahsoka didn't expect Maul to tear down the hyperdrive like that lmao
This was arguably Maul at the peak of his power. Due to the imbalance of the Force shifting massively in the Dark Side's favour because of Order 66, as well as him having to rely on the Force and his physicality more than ever due to not having a lightsaber, Maul was at his best in the final episodes of the series.
@Kryptoskillet Actually, is the opposite. Maul defeated Obi-Wan most of TCW, he held his own against Windu and Sidious, he defeated Grievous and Savage (this last one already stalemated Anakin), Dave Filoni and Jeremy Barlow (the writer of Son of Dathomir) stated that Maul is atleast in the realm of Dooku, this is also confirmed by Nick Gillard using the Goerge Lucas Tier System, when Anakin in TCW and RotS lost two times against Obi-Wan while being amped, and pretty much won against Dooku because Sidious told him to held back and test him, and all the rest of the times it was a clear lose for Anakin, so Anakin beating Maul goes against all probability. However, Vader is another history, in canon, Vader is stronger than Anakin in every way (he losing midichlorians is a myth since you have the same amount per cell), while Maul in Rebels is out of his prime, althought Filoni stated it will be a interesting fight but Maul will lose in this scenario. So stop lowballing Maul, it doesn't make sense.

@@vietcongwarlord6931 *"from the looks of things his fight with Mace wasn't actually much of a fight, their blades clashed once before the fight stopped "* No, you should realize how a comic book is interpreted: 1) Maul didn't just fight Mace Windu, Aayla Secura was also there to fight Maul, who he humiliated, so Maul's feat is even better than fighting Windu alone. 2) There are multiple clues that allow us to see the length of the fight: When Maul starts fighting, Windu is about to lunge at him and Aayla is approaching Maul from behind Windu, a moment later, Dooku uses force lightning against the two Jedi, a moment later these two block them, meanwhile (having already spent a few seconds), Maul is still fighting against Windu and Aayla, now Windu and Maul are blocking each other's attacks, and Aayla who before was behind Windu, now is behind Maul and receives a kick from this one, consecutively, Dooku stopped using force lighting and now uses the force to attract the master Tiplee towards him, then the Mandalorians enter the room and Saxon orders Kast to prepare his rocktet (at all this Maul continues fighting against Windu and Aayla, several more seconds have passed), and Dooku pulls out his lightsaber and kills Tiplee, Obi-Wan screams his name and has time to shed a few tears, Kast's rocket finishes charging and Gar orders him to aim at Aayla (Maul is still fighting), Kast finishes aiming and releases his projectile at the same time as Saxon screams Maul's name, The projectile then arrives where they are fighting, Maul manages to dodge it, but the other two did not, at the same time Obi-Wan had time to run to where Tiplee's body was and carry her in both arms, the clones arrived on the battlefield and Dooku moved to where Saxon and Kast were. All this tells us that the fight lasted approximately 30 seconds, and that's no small thing. 3) Because of comments like the one you gave, Dave Filoni himself and the author of the comic had to come out and say that all the fights were much longer but they should have limited them to certain panels since it's a comic book. comicvine1.cbsistatic.com/uploads/original/11142/111424687/7754058-7025194-5426373-4228702-cut%2Bcontent.png

That it was an intense duel even for Sidious. comicvine1.cbsistatic.com/uploads/original/11142/111427065/7640486-fight1.jpg comicvine1.cbsistatic.com/uploads/scale_super/11142/111427065/7769045-maulvsidious.jpg Sidious had to use all his power to keep the brothers at bay. comicvine1.cbsistatic.com/uploads/original/11142/111424687/7802668-sidious_fight_against_maul.png Dave Filoni claims that Savage alone could genuinely put up a superior fight to the 3 Council Masters that Sidious killed, and that losing to him was a good feat for him, and Maul is superior to Savage. comicvine1.cbsistatic.com/uploads/original/11142/111424687/7802669-dave_filoni_talks_about_sidious_vs._savage_and_maul_fight.png the only (invalid) argument I've seen made for Sidious "playing around" is to say Sidious was laughing" which is irrelevant, since laughing against Yoda, who he nearly lost to, after being tremendously injured against Windu and in Legends against Starkiller, is part of his character, which isn't to say he didn't fight seriously and there aren't parts where he looked distraught There are even moments in the fight where Sidious looks distraught comicvine1.cbsistatic.com/uploads/original/11142/111427065/7496163-sid2.jpg 3) The fight has an extended scene that wasn't released on screen solely due to time constraints but was officially released on TCW's Blu-Ray anyway, described as an extended scene explaining what happens between scenes, which both Dave Filoni and LucasFilm Story Group clarified as canon comicvine1.cbsistatic.com/uploads/original/11142/111424687/7799895-davefiloni_talks_about_the_extended_scene.png comicvine1.cbsistatic.com/uploads/original/11142/111427065/7757486-sithduel.jpg and where Maul put up more of a fight alone, blocks Sidious' force beams and was even able to push him with the force, again, these scenes are indisputably canon. comicvine1.cbsistatic.com/uploads/original/11142/111424687/7779035-maul-fights-sidious.gif comicvine1.cbsistatic.com/uploads/original/11142/111424687/7779033-maul-block-sidious-force-lighting.gif comicvine1.cbsistatic.com/uploads/original/11142/111424687/7784376-darth-maul-force-push-darth-sidious.gif comicvine1.cbsistatic.com/uploads/original/11142/111424687/7789765-maul-fights-sidious.gif 4) Sidious did take the final battle against Maul seriously, you admit it yourself, but at the same time you say "there is no way he was able to defend himself" which is inconsistent. The final battle of TMP Maul vs Qui-Gon lasted about the same, the battle between Yoda and Dooku with the sabers taking out Yoda's jumps at the end lasted about 30 seconds, the battle between Anakin and Dooku lasted similar, the battle on Yoda and Sidious with ligthsaber on screen lasted the same tan the battle between Maul and Sidious, before the force match, same as several Grievous vs. Obi-Wan, the Vader vs. Obi-Wan fight if we remove the pauses is basically the same, Asajj vs. Anakin, etc. Practically, the battles don't last much longer than that except for the last one between Anakin and Obi-Wan that lasted several minutes and is a whole exception in the general duration of the fights. When you think about it: This guy was one the few survivor's of Teth and survived Umbara aswell..
I was smiling all the way in these scenes. I can't believe Maul survived order 66 without even using a lightsaber 😅
Why not?? He was trained by Lord Sidious.
Sidious even said so himself. Maul is incredibly Tenacious.
He only slaughter them all because unlike the Jedi who remain loyal to these clones until their betrayal was revealed maul still see them as his enemies. And like Darth Sidious always says even though he regrets referring to it .”there are no match for him”.
Obiwan did mail was hard to kill. Makes sense to keep their in this series
No, the force don't work that way and Anakin part was never stated in canon or even Legends.
@@sorjonen8358 he did say the dark side had never been stronger in episode 10.
Jason Cross yea Ashoka just using him as a pawn was not something a Jedi or even former one would do
@@jasoncross9354 That's doesn't mean he is stronger in raw power. Yoda explains in EP II that the dark side has been getting more and more powerful for some time now, and the only thing it does is cloud *the vision* of those force users who are on the light side th-cam.com/video/opBTRmNjF7s/w-d-xo.html, which means it has no effect on the raw power, and only affect in that aspect on the light users, not the dark users.
So, no, Maul is this powerful, without any power-boost, he already performed pretty dope things with the force too during Clone Wars, like this:
*Throwing an entire ship with barely one hand while he is injured th-cam.com/video/IOUMtuhqXYg/w-d-xo.html
*Moving an entire army of droids aside www.cuartomundo.cl/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Maul-vs-droides.png

I wouldn’t say that’d make sense as that would mean that Obi-Wan and Yoda wouldn’t last seconds in their fights with Anakin and Sidious
Obi wan is able to go head to head with Vader as he is the one who trained him and Vader has a desire for vengeance and attachment towards him. Yoda is arguably the most powerful Jedi and out of the entire jedi council, he’s able to do what needs to be done. Yes he failed as grandmaster but Yoda is more than capable of fighting a sith lord

This was arguably Maul at the peak of his power. God, I wish Anakin could have fought him at least once. That could have been one of the greatest duels in the saga’s history.
@@sorjonen8358 "Maul defeated Obi-Wan most of CW" the 1st time he beat him was merely because Savage surprised him. The 3rd time is the only fair CW fight for Obi-Wan, in which he forces both Maul and Savage to flee.
"he held his own against Windu and Sidious" from the looks of things his fight with Mace wasn't actually much of a fight, their blades clashed once before the fight stopped. In Mauls fight with Sidious its clear that he wasn't taking Maul or Savage seriously, and you can see this in the first moments of the fight, as Sidious release both Maul and Savage from his "force grip".

@@vietcongwarlord6931 *In Mauls fight with Sidious its clear that he wasn't taking Maul or Savage seriously, and you can see this in the first moments of the fight, as Sidious release both Maul and Savage from his "force grip". Sidious seems to start taking Maul seriously at the very end of the fight, in which Maul loses the duel in about 26 seconds, so in no way was Maul "holding his own"*
1) Is strange when people mention the "force grip" as if it proves something, they talk about it as if Sidious could have blown them up if he wanted to, even though it's an ability that doesn't exist in this universe, and catching someone with the force is not synonymous with being able to choke them to death, especially if they are trying to defend themselves with the force, as in Dooku's case with Asajj, who would have killed her just like that. There was a window behind, Sidious could have thrown them out of it, but it wouldn't have killed them and they could have escaped, that's why he released them, there are multiple sources that make it clear that Sidious doesn't like to use his lightsaber, if he could solve it with the force at that point he would have.
2) What do the sources tell us about this fight and the words of the authors about the fight?
That it was an intense duel even for Sidious.

Dave Filoni claims that Savage alone could genuinely put up a superior fight to the 3 Council Masters that Sidious killed, and that losing to him was a good feat for him, and Maul is superior to Savage.
comicvine1.cbsistatic.com/uploads/original/11142/111424687/7802669-dave_filoni_talks_about_sidious_vs._savage_and_maul_fight.png
the only (invalid) argument I've seen made for Sidious "playing around" is to say Sidious was laughing" which is irrelevant, since laughing against Yoda, who he nearly lost to, after being tremendously injured against Windu and in Legends against Starkiller, is part of his character, which isn't to say he didn't fight seriously and there aren't parts where he looked distraught There are even moments in the fight where Sidious looks distraught comicvine1.cbsistatic.com/uploads/original/11142/111427065/7496163-sid2.jpg
3) The fight has an extended scene that wasn't released on screen solely due to time constraints but was officially released on TCW's Blu-Ray anyway, described as an extended scene explaining what happens between scenes, which both Dave Filoni and LucasFilm Story Group clarified as canon comicvine1.cbsistatic.com/uploads/original/11142/111424687/7799895-davefiloni_talks_about_the_extended_scene.png

and where Maul put up more of a fight alone, blocks Sidious' force beams and was even able to push him with the force, again, these scenes are indisputably canon.

4) Sidious did take the final battle against Maul seriously, you admit it yourself, but at the same time you say "there is no way he was able to defend himself" which is inconsistent. Lasting that long against Sidious is a merit, especially being able to throw a kick at him that leaves Sidious visibly upset, and then make him struggle to win, and force him to use the force
