A lot of companies don't use that for things like test shots of the car, mostly because if you ONLY use that then you would need to put a bit of fine print about it being a fake car. Same thing when Chevy trucks did the "real people not actors" thing, they got slap by the FCC about it. I believe that system is mostly used for things like stunt shots where the car is meant to LOOK cool, doing a jack knife turn into a stop and all that, something they don't want to try in the real car since it could damage the car or cause a wreck. Take the stunt shots used in some car ads where they jump them off a ramp or something of that nature.
