This method isn't possible anymore. The devs nerfed the glider speed so you can't fly away from drakes. Sorry folks 😢
NoPlayJack can you still fly in.? I wanna throw out a throw away wyvern to fly as far up as I can lol and then climb the rest out

No worries! I recommend you practice it in single player a few times before you try it on whatever server you play on. Also please give the channel a sub if you haven’t already.

It's still possible. But don't expect to get out on the same run. Have a few back up suits gliders and picks. Or even a backup partner to role with you. It's more of a relay race now but it is possible

The crab I think is a real good tame for dealing with the drakes and the red zone in general, it’s immune to radiation, it levels 1k health per level up, and it deals a lot of damage naturally, and even more damage if you level melee
Pure skillz bro gj , its just difficult to glide when it comes to a server where people play around 70 at a time in one server which makes ping somewhere around 180 and this makes flying impossible alot of times lol

Had a thought. Practice this in single player before making the dive on a server! If you get to the point where he jumps and then log out of single player and back in you can make a save point. This way, you can dive, and if you mess up, you can ctrl alt del the game and just load again.

Just did this and got a level 44 egg. Tip for folks reading? When you fly out, just go straight for the metal structure he talks about, get your picks out while flying, and once you hit the wall, just use them. Doesn't hurt them much since you aren't falling. IT IS A LONG CLIMB. XD Thanks for the vid! I honestly never thought I'd get a rock drake and this did it.

Subbed! also it took 3 tries. I considered a death a loss of anything I took down, so I had made like.. 6 rad suits with gliders along with like.. 60 Blue BP picks that I was lucky enough to have. Took about 7 to climb out. Also? The best part? TWINS! :D Couldn't believe it.
Best method is the one I used. It takes time to put together, but it's far more powerful for a single player than a single Megalosaurus. The Karkinos can traverse the entire Rock Drake nest zone with ease & they can take on a multitude of Rock Drakes at once. Get 2 mate boosted Karkinos 150 tames if possible, but not necessary. Then get 2 mate boosted Carno's, again max level if possible. Then pick up the 2 carno's with the Karkinos you're riding, & head down to the Rock Drake nests. Carno's are there in case the Rock Drakes run underneath your Karkinos & cause it to float defenseless in the air. Just drop the Carno's if this happens and they will destroy the Rock drakes. Obviously bring plenty of extra gear and decent saddles. Both Karkinos and Carno's are immune to radiation. Happy Hunting & Have Fun!

You made it so easy. I'll have to try it. I tried going under the double waterfall like in Nooblets videos and always getting raped by drakes. Ill have to try your way. Gonna watch your video a few more times first.

Where is the place you got back at? Was that really closento the southwest surface? Wondering cuz my base is close to the portal...maybe i can jump there? And the way back would b easier if its where im imagining

But after that i get swarmed... hands down. Am i doing something wrong? Should i do something else? Some glide method im not aware?
Just make sure you use the dive to go faster. And try to go as fast as possible after you get the egg.

anyone wondering, really do make hella extra climbing picks cause you're gonna need them just to get to the jump spot unless you wanna go all the way through half the blue to get on the logs
You can jump from the waterfall in the green zone right next to where I started and use no extra climbing picks. Also, I wouldn't recommend this method anymore as they've nerfed the glider speed so drakes have no problem catching you after you grab an egg.
yeah I died twice I'm done ill just stick with my reapers, drake can't even fly anyway and I can glide on my own

Charlie Curtis sorry man, I don’t play on console so I couldn’t tell you. On PC you jump then push jump again. From there it’s just use your direction buttons to aim. To dive press the sprint button.

37 Lat 62 Long But I have to be honest with you, since they nerfed the wing suits a couple weeks ago this really isn't a viable method anymore. You glide too slowly to escape the drakes.
I was so smart, I went in there without a glider and 1climbing pick

NoPlayJack I did that multiple times and I died down there multiple times until I learned about using a spider crab thing
This is so hard I tried to bring like 16 picks but they all broke and I got stuck but, I'm not going to give up I have got way to far.
I just did exactly what you did except on official where there actually is a lot of drakes, I flew over the first part of getting out of the drake canyon and had a stake on my ass until I got to the first rock

Yep. Look at the pinned comment Jan. It worked for the first few months but stopped working when they nerfed the glidesuit speed.

The same way mate! Radiation suit, glider skin, and 15-20 climbing picks. Aim for the spot I do in the video and then climb out the same way I do. Let me know how it goes!
