Ark - Aberration - How to get your first Drake Egg - Legit route that's Spino Friendly

- Early warning: It takes FUHEVA to get down there and back without jumping or flying, but this is the route to do it. It's very doable on a spino, it does require a bit of luck to get eggs where you want them though.
Next video will be about the other locations and some short cuts you can take with a crab or drakes.

New-ish to Ark, just started Ab. Thought I could wing it and started by going right from the waterfall and ended up in the far south west reaper zone, almost died. Clearly the wrong way. Then I've spent hours looking through vids, Reddit, forums, screenshots or anything to give the correct route down. I've found tons of comments on how to dive down but with a spino cannot climb back out. This is exactly what I needed! THANK YOU!
Hey, if anyone reads this. If you have a cryopod and an oviraptor you can place your oviraptor next to the egg and set it to follow you. After a couple seconds it will pick up the egg and give it to you. If you pick it up using an oviraptor, no drakes will be aggro'd on you. I've never tried to doing this with drake's before but I know for a fact it works on wyverns.

Yeah, that red area is annoying as hell until you get your eye in for it. Hell, I've done videos on getting the artifact down there and I STILL get turned around every time I'm on a drake down there.

I got my first 185 rock drake because this tutorial thank you. Here’s some tips from doing this method I recommend taking at least 2-3 spinos 12k+ Heath it’s makes things a whole lot easier and makes your chances of coming back alive better just keep close to the walls when you get down there because the paths get narrow. Also always heal your spinos after you get outta the rock drake nest area I tried rushing home with my hurt spino and a reaper king popped outta the ground and killed me and my spino at the very beginning of the metal spine so just always heal your dinos cause you never know what can happen. there is one place you can use zipline to get an egg - 23:50
you can connect one to the clean sharp looking rock then to the nest

VERY late, but i did this on a lvl 477 ravager and OH MY GOD it was so hard but still definitely worked! I tried this once before with a different tutorial and died and lost everything due to getting lost. Sadly only got a lvl 40 drake but this still worked amazingly! Thank you!

Yeah, it gets really crazy tough once you get down there. This was before cryopods too, we lost more than one creature in the drop at the bottom :C

First time I actually got away with getting drake eggs, I glider suited down to the drakes, taking 2 spinos in cryopods. On my way up, near the blue area, I lost the metal spine-y thing, took a wrong turn, and a reaper queen pretty much ended my adventure and my faveourite spinos as well. Was a sad day.
I brought a crab and 3 spinos and all of the spinos died because they were dumb 1 fell in the purple goo and the other 2 fell of a cliff while chasing a seeker

I cant understand what you say at about 4:40. You say "If you have a low charge '????' or something like that" What is it you are naming? Is it a bulbdog and can you charge it at a charge node? If so how. Sorry, ive listened to it but I cant make out what the word is.Great helpful tutorial btw. Thanks

Tf my crab have 15k health, lower weight, lower md, 2k Stam, and a little bit more food but it's lv 217!
There’s an ez way jump from green zone to element waterfall with glide suit and a rad resistant Dino cryod glid as close as u can to the drake nest then throw ur cryo out ride it the rest of the way and ez
I just want to point out that this video was made before cryopods were a thing. That's why it isn't used in it.

I really wish they'd give Aberration some more love. We started a new playthrough on there recently and the fact there's no reasonable place to go get dinos from is pretty annoying. Plus the aberant raptors still knock off of mounts ridiculously easily :(
@@WhamyKaBlamy Yes! The lack of variety in egg producing dinos for high tier kibble is painful on this map. And yes, the return of pouncing raptors is not welcomed. Lastly, those ravagers are atrocious. Even just one alone causes the gash effect?! Ugh.
Unrelated, but in case you see this and reply, how close to the beginning of the rib cage path do reaper queens spawn? Hard to tell on the wiki ark map. I’d taken a path from my base to the trench to do some recon for my own comfort level. Got to the trench and the server crashed. Got back on 20 min later and amazingly I wasn’t dead and neither was my spino or shoulder pet, but drakes, nameless and seekers were all attacking. Rescued the bulbdog, got back on my spino and managed to kill everything. Ended the recon trip then and headed back. Got back to near the start of the spine path and suddenly was attacked by 3 drakes and 2 reapers. With an imprinted spino that had 16K health and can do 350 damage per claw on its hind legs, I figured I could handle them all. They were barely bloody (if at all) after a good few minutes and my spino was in trouble. Kept trying to get away, but those reapers were on me. Finally managed to ditch them both, killed the drakes, and limped into a corner and hid for a while. Spino was at 5K torpor and 2K health. They were fine. Were they reaper queens? I didn’t check on spy glass in middle of fight cause was pretty dang terrified…was getting my arse handed to me and just needed to get away. But how else could they have tanked all that damage from my spino? Plus seekers were joining the fight, so my light pet must have been on. Hence I am asking how close to that spine path starting point is the reaper queen territory. Is it even just after the start of it? Am pretty sure I was still under the spine when they appeared.
Would this be recommended on a spino post TLC?
Honestly, I still wouldn't go down there on a spino as my first choice - Only because of that inability to jump if you mess up. But, with that said, if you have a badass spino then you can wreck face for sure and you'd probably be a hella lot safer from the drakes.

Raise yourself a wyvern or tame a griffin and obviously a hazmat suit, make sure your animal is good on health then swoop in to the rock drake egg area and if you are using a griffin land in the nest with the egg and grab it if its a good level, if you have a wyvern land on the ground and kill everything that aggros you with the wyvern then get your climbing picks and climb up to an egg and grab it then be out back to base
Either way flying animals with good health are where its at 👌

Heya, sorry for the really slow reply - the reason that I didn't talk about fliers (or even try them if I'm perfectly honest) is that I always do my videos as if someone is playing the map standalone. It just means that the maximum amount of people can get benefit out of it.

I believe it was a level 100 tame that came out at 150, and I put every point into health. The crabs are pretty beefy :)

why is there a Rock Drake Egg laying around random?
40k health spino? Jeez. I use to do this with my rock drake with only 10k health and a spino hits much harder especially since they got buffed.
This was pre-TLC update, Spino's weren't the utter badasses they are now and could take a lot of damage just getting positioned to hit something.
I died like 17 times on the way out because of purlovia and megalacerous
On official I just bred two wild 125 an 135 spinos took the offspring with 14 K hp 50 % imprint got all the way to the eggs stuck close to wall but then rock drake pushed me into wall an spino an character died to anti mesh

I found it but I lost my crab down there so I went to look for the crab after finding the eggs then lost my other stuff then lost my crab and spino so I deleted that save and fuck it.

My Max level is 67 so what health would you sagest for a crab mine is level 135 and has 20,000
Health is one part of the equation, dmg is the other.
The longer a fight lasts, the more damage you take.
Especially when there's multiple opponents.
Then there's saddles and dmg mitigation.
A fixed amount of health is meaningless.
I personally favor dmg over hp and go with 15k health (primitve saddle).
You can always farm some nameless for meat and heal up - 15k should be plenty to sruvive any fight.
Sorry for the late reply, It's been a long time since I did Aberration so I'd go with someone's advice like Aboomination but if I remember it correctly, I used to go quite tanky with the crab health.

@@bencollecott260 oh, one more thing: crabs heal double the amount from being force fed spoiled meat - so transfer meat into your inventory and choose "split all" to get it spoiled at the fastest rate possible.

So, I haven't played Aberration for a good couple of months so I might be a bit rusty on my instincts, but I wouldn't risk a ravager down there. I think getting there should be very doable, but if you get swarmed by the rock drakes then I can see it going very badly. They used to be annoying as hell at pinning us on ravagers and by the time we could get un-glitched it'd gone badly.
If you took the time to clear as many drakes before you got there, had beefy ravagers and were prepared with weapons and to cheese it I'd give it a decent chance though. Don't risk anything you can't afford to lose though, obviously. I don't want to be responsible for you losing good ravagers!
Agreed, you can get knocked by a raptor on ravage, let alone take on over 10 drakes to get 1 egg...

What level spino to you recommend for this? Mine’s a level 130 with over 200 melee and 10k health.
I would recommend a bare minimum of two mate boosted spinos with ramshackle+ saddles, minimum of 20k hp and 500%+ melee
