Tyranomon was what agumon was originally planned to digivolve to, but greymon was more popular. So , i think its most common rookie is Agumon

Tyranomon got a new digivolution called Dinomon and I'm almost positive that he's based on godzilla (or burning godzilla)
Dark Tyrannomon was based on Godzilla explicitly... well okay, that's a misrepresentation. Dark Tyrannomon IS Godzilla, quite literally, as it reuses the sprites from the Mothra Tamagotchi, same as Flymon, who reuses spites from I believe Fairy Mothra on the same pet.
Basically, the entire version 5 is just a bunch of sprites of Toho monsters. Gazimon's exclusive adults are Godzilla and Gigan (Cyclomon), Gizamon's exclusives are Mothra and Ghidorah (Deltamon), and the non-exclusive adults are Destroyah (Devidramon) and Spacegodzilla (Tuskmon), with Hedorah (Raremon) being the "fail to meet criteria" one. The three Earth monsters (Godzilla, Destroyah, and Mothra) became the first ultimate, the three space monsters (Gigan, Spacegodzilla, and Ghidorah) became the second, and then ofc Hedorah became the secret character.
This is why you never saw version 5 representation in the early video games like Version S, Digimon World, and Version WS. It was kind of a legal thing. Of course, it was only the sprites that reflected Toho's monsters, the Kenji Watanabe art for them took them in a new direction, with Devidramon in particular completely losing Destroyah's head crest altogether. And now the version 5 digimon are pretty much ubiquitous. But for a while there, version 5 was kind of the "bonus" one for Godzilla nerds only, and an unofficial sequel to the Mothragotchi.
@@princessmaly Honestly I never knew about this connection between the Tyranomon line and the Godzilla franchise (I always thought they were a stylized t-rex). Thanks for explaining it all to me😁
When I played Digimon World as a kid, I often got my partner to evolve into Tyrannomon, then garnered a hate for all the big Digimon, because they always ran through all my food. =_=

No. Dark Tyrannomon is the same stage of life, Tyrannomon CANNOT become Dark Tyrannomon. However, Tyrannomon CAN become Master Tyrannomon or Metal Tyrannomon, both of which can Revert to Dark Tyrannomon.

Hey digi prof, how do one pick idle digi partner or each person's so called initial digimon.
Its a deeply personal decision. Think about what you want you partner to be able to do, such as fly or swim. Also consider what animals or concepts speak to you on a personal level. Then try to find the digimon who most closely represents these.

from what weve seen in games like digmon world numemon/sukemon's roll is more or less to be the digital world's living garbage disposals being that they seem to be the only digmon capable of ingesting and deleting other digimon's... waste product. ew
