This part believes there isn't enough. It's in the roof of my mouth. It thought I was a child, maybe eight years old. I'm 58. If it didn't have to worry there isn't enough it would want to learn other things.

Very powerful considering how concise it is. I've come back to this one multiple times with different parts and found help and answers quickly. Thank you.

At 30 seconds in he says “Think of a part of you that gets in your way, that you’re annoyed with…” this feels to me like the main focus of this meditation. The focus doesn’t feel like the Self. Still a good meditation! Just the title was a bit off for me.

you are in the self when you are communicating with protective part and are compassionate and curious

That is self. All these parts of us are self.

@@broccolionswagNot necessarily. I often have managers take over, or my care giving part. That's why I'm looking for a meditation that helps me focus on Self.

@@ChristinaSiddorn-z8wThey are part of our system, but not of our Self, our core.

Yeah but how the heck do you heal these inhearently ingrained beared down apparent protector firefighters and how in an eternity of years could you put them exactly we’re they are perfectly ment to be like some pure holy child?

Well... They're meant to be within you. They are exactly where they need to be! They are always within you, ready to protect you with their (maybe a bit overly zealous) wisdom and energy.
The goal for you now, is to find what part they were protecting. The exile...
The protectors will learn to relax and calm down, only once you help them realize that YOU are the "better" protector. You must manage your outside AND inside world. Remember though, to respect and love your often very young and confused protectors! You'll need a lot of patience, while you try to be as unconditionally loving as possible. It's very hard... Especially if you (and they), know that they are "the problem". 😵‍💫
That's been my general experience, anyway. I might be able to share a more specific suggestion, but I'd need to know more about your protector and any exiles that it's protecting. Keep in mind that I'm not a psychologist, although I fairly regularly see one and we use IFS therapy. Which has been the most helpful therapy to manage my internal issues.😊

ur inner children are beautiful and amazing, just like physical children are holy and wonderful.

It's not your inner child it's your different systems of survival you have and this meditation helps build peace with it anf heal it.

Yes. A part of you! Listen for the voice in your head or a feeling you have. Something from the inside of you.
I am learning this work as a Life Coach and it is so very powerful!

We all have parts. Or in other words, play roles if you will. Me: I am child of my parents, a friend of classmates, a partner of a significant other, a mother a grandmother an employee and so on... and these parts have parts too.. a controller, a critic, a comforter, an enemy and a friend etc. We have layers is another word to discribe our parts. Once you understand that...then what IFS means and how to relate, makes a lot of sense. At least it does for me😊
