    This is a "soft" acoustic version of "The Seed", in the music video and on the album version the building part DOES go into a powerful chorus. I highly recommend the music video it is powerful both visually and musically.

      I love this version. But my favorite is her alone, at the piano doing this song.
      The rhythm is just a tad bit different, which I think is what I fing appealing.
      I especially love when she flashes the peace sign to the camera and says.." peace and love" with her smiling......
      My dream concer with Aurora is actually.
      Just her and a piano. ...but Damm, I really want to hear her do Under the water once......but I do not think it would work without a full band.
      But then I can hear, home, puppet, why did you have to go, and exit for love as examples......exist for love is a great example...for me.....I do not care for the structure or phonics of the song. But when it's just her and a piano.....I would gladly dance to it at my wedding.
      Infections of a different kind
      Man, there are so many of her songs that I prefer with just her.
      Kinda like Neil Young for me....the older generation will understand it.

      YES! The Seed MV is a powerful, moving and important work of art. This VEVO music performance would then not only click, but would take on new dimensions and meaning. Sam, it would be truly wonderful to watch you break down Aurora’s masterpiece live performance of her song Lucky, from Nidarosdomen cathedral in Norway, th-cam.com/video/AmTiqR2_VAw/w-d-xo.html
      I’ve been a fan of yours for years.💗 And I’m an Aurora appreciator and Stan. Thank you. 💐

      Yep, Aurora does songs differently almost every she performs them. This version has no percussion at all for example. I love this version with the surprise male chorus she wasn't aware was organised for her, she talks about it after the song. The look on her face when they come out of the crowd is priceless! 😍 th-cam.com/video/VEYH_pefoiQ/w-d-xo.html

    I loved when you said "I feel like I can turn off that part of my brain (the one that analyses vocal technique) when I listen to her" and I felt that. I too have that part on my brain and when I listen to her, it's as if I'm being taken on a wonderful journey of colors and emotions.

    Everything you said was spot on. Aurora doesn't just sing, she performs in an artistic way that most do not. I catch myself humming or whistling Aurora tunes throughout the day at work without realizing that I am. 😊

    The emotional connection transcends any & all analysis as moot points. I recently watched her lollapalooza performance in Chile. No expectations and although I didn’t intend to, I was there till the end. She embodies the law of attraction in a magical, ethereal and other worldly way. Her connection with the audience is a force of nature.
    What an amazing bright light in a world of chaos and darkness.

  • @dmwalker24
    @dmwalker24 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    She can, and occasionally does do that kind of unleashed belty power you were talking about. She will often use an extremely resonant, and ethereal kind of tone, which I've found can be just as impactful. She's definitely one of a kind, and a true artist. Also, totally agree that pitch correction of good singers is odd, and should probably be avoided at all costs.

  • @MemoriesLP
    @MemoriesLP 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    I'm almost sure she was sick in this performance, you can see that on her second verse for sure. I hear her live all the time, and in this one her voice is more nasal here, or whoever you say that in English. It is also clear when she does how low voice, very nasal compared to any other performance. But she still did well, extremely well. And of course, I can be just wrong here and she was not sick hehe
    Edit: came back to say maybe it was not a nasal sound. But it was my way to describe her voice not sounding like it sounds. It was different here, something was off, which to me it sounds like when semeone is sick from a flue or something like that.

    also considering this song is about humanity's lack of care for the climate, always talking about how we need to change our ways but never really doing so, i think playing with expectations (building and building only to pull away again) to the point where you don't really have closure is incredibly intentional in the context of the song. in that case it is very much a reflection of life. very interesting how your analysis ties that together!

    Fun fact: she actually doesn’t like the sound of her own voice and hadn't intended on becoming a singer, she only intended to create music as a side hobby. She was discovered after someone uploaded one of her recordings online without her permission (which she was actually angry about). But I'm glad she decided to go for it after meeting with a music company, and i think the world is better for it.
    And on a personal note, i get the impression that she's neurodivergent. I haven't seen any confirmation of this, just a hunch (I'm also neurodivergent and we often recognise our own neurotype when we know enough about it). Just little tells here and there, with her mannerisms and eccentricities (in the words of her own sisters, who were worried she was going to be bullied in school due to that and her very unique fashion style), the fact that she hated hugs growing up (i think she still feels uncomfortable about them?), and liking to be alone more than most kids. She taught herself to play piano around the age of 5 or 6 too with imitating notes from classical music. She's highly empathic and clearly gets affected by the negative state of the world (the neurotypical assumption of those with both ADHD & ASD - especially ASD - is that we don't feel empathy, which is often the completely wrong assumption. Most of us feel things **very** deeply, deeper than most neurotypicals). Also her unique views which are very often found within neurodivergence, as most of us are very innovative thinkers and often think outside the box.
    There's more but those are the major ones i can think of atm. I'm so glad i found her music. And I'm even more glad to see that her uniqueness and differences are celebrated rather than condemned (as they often are for neurodivergents, or even those who are just different from the "normal" in some way).

    Cool reaction and as always interesting thoughts. This is softer version of the song. In album version chorus is much stronger and little more like "aggressive" (like going to fight for a nature). But both versions are beautiful. Also as far i know she was a little sick during this particular performance (even if she sounds great). Anyway love her music and expressiveness. She is just great:).

    That rant about pitch correction? The music industry now pitch correct or autotune *everyone* they can. They don't care what the unprocessed voice sounds like. So old Queen songs gets "corrected" to robot voice. That's what the music industry thinks we want to pay for.
    Not sure how some people in the music industry even dares to show their titles on their business cards since they are dirtbags in need of tar and feathers. People should take every opportunity to ask them "what music did you autotune to death today?"
