But there’s no need to tell children they are ‘absolutely useless’ just because they can’t sing or dance. Humans who can’t sing or dance are still worthwhile as humans!

Parents: there is nothing wrong with being realistic. I have told my children, "you can do anything. But, if you want to (fill in whatever idea they have about the future) you are going to have to work 100 times harder than you are right now. You are capable of anything. but your effort will determine if you will do it" (or something similar to that). Either way your kid will be mad at you (for not supporting their dreams or for not being honest with them). If you're going to be a jerk anyway, at least you can save them from embarrassment.

It’s funny to you, when they sing terrible, but it’s not really that funny. Only ones making money off it, is the show itself, and the network airing it.
You could tell he had worked so hard to get and maintain his look and style, and probably convinced himself that he could sing. The problem is that most people can choose a style and pull it off if they work hard enough, but singing takes natural talent and if you don't have it, you will never be good at it. You could tell that he was absolutely crushed and his world came crashing down around him when they said no because he probably thought that is what he was going to do in life.
I sometimes wonder if they're just delusional or if they're doing it for a joke/dare. Their "friends" (who needs enemies ?) also might be egging them on for their own amusement, despite knowing how bad they are. The act of most concern though is the last one. To think that a maths teacher who not only can't sing but thinks he's much better than Tom Jones is very worrying, esp for his students.

BIGBOIBLOP i never said they didn’t have the right to audition. I know I can’t sing , and surely wouldn’t ever do it in front of a live audience on television and those celebrity judges. It’s funny to you, when they sing terrible, but it’s not really that funny. Only ones making money off it, is the show itself, and the network airing it.

You could tell he had worked so hard to get and maintain his look and style, and probably convinced himself that he could sing. The problem is that most people can choose a style and pull it off if they work hard enough, but singing takes natural talent and if you don't have it, you will never be good at it. You could tell that he was absolutely crushed and his world came crashing down around him when they said no because he probably thought that is what he was going to do in life.
You can tell his one friend set him up for this lol, that is what friends do!
