When my daughter was younger, I use to tell her she was a talented, beautiful soul..but! She was never going to be a singer. She says "muuummmm, you are meant to support me." I told her I do support you...looking for another career. I then started googling videos like this to show her how ridiculous these kids and their parents looked. Lol she still brings this up, but thanks me now 😂😂😂

That's because in 2010, when she was on, they used auto tune for all the contestants that year. Apparently there was a lot of controversy over it.

I had seen that audition before on another video, and I thought the same thing. Then I was reading the comments and someone said what I told you, so I looked up the 2010 auditions, and sure enough, all the female auditions, at least, were auto tuned.
X factor are known for adding auto tune to live performances

Queen Christina is singing "the Queen of the Night" aria from Mozart's _The Magic Flute_ . It is a real song from the opera. But she doesn't sing it well, as a proper opera singer would. You can hear it sung well here:

The "high notes" are a top F. Queen Christina sings them badly, but it is kinda impressive she can get up there in the stratosphere at all.

She did sing a song. That was an Opera song - ‘Queen of the Night’ from ‘The Magic Flute’ (which is probably why she dressed as a Queen, lol).

@foxcyber1957 You don't necessarily have to say that, but you can teach them how to improve. My parents trained me to sing as a kid and they wouldn't tell me I sucked, but they taught me how to do better. I'm still grateful for them as an adult. 😊

Mercy lady has a super interesting auto tune effect to her natural voice. She did a bizarre song here but with the right lyrics and music and coaching you could do amazing things with her voice.

the girl singing her own arrangement of Mercy by Duffy was an absolute legend though, not good at singing but was definitely creative and passionate, it was like a movement song, and she also made me laugh

@foxcyber1957 If singing is not your strongest point enjoy the songs/music but find where your strength is and concentrate on that. A SWOT analysis may help.Im not a good public speaker but give me office duties and figures run through my fingers like music. I'm a finance/accounts major (CPA)

I mean I'm not. I think it's important to say if your kid is trying to be a professional singer to tell them that they probably don't have the natural talent to do it, but no one should be discouraged for singing or put down for singing
