I much rather this guy's reviews than ANY other reviewer of this show. I come here and actually learn bc everyone else has the most basic theories we've all already thought of and it's just too complicated to be just some friggin aliens and vampires. I will be so mad if that's all there is to this show
Aliens theory is really stupid , why would aliens by blocked of from entering houses by magic rocks. This show is more about fantasy and mysticism not about freaking aliens.
I hope it continues too, I just have no faith in viewers anymore. Any series where viewers have to think or there isn't a straight line from A to B goes away.....Twin Peaks, The Leftovers, Carnivale.....
I definitely think they’re aliens, but I’m enjoying all the different theories. Particularly the theory about 1864 I just read about. That in itself further reaffirms the Alien theory. Great show either way!!
@@ryanthoroman3293 i mean, you can't really take that 100% at face value. If its not listed as mystery too then the listing is wrong, and we already know that forsure.
The stairs Tabitha climbs have dates on them: 1506, 1609, 1672, etc; one of which includes 1864, the same year found in the bottle Boyd found. Perhaps these years represent each time a massacre in this place occurred; like doing those years certain planets aligned or a rare eclipse happened or some other triggering event, that causes a town massacre, like the one Victor survived.
I think the female voice was Boyd's wife Abby. And when she said "Tell Mr. Fish N Loaves I was wrong" meant that she was wrong about all of this being a dream and wrong about them just having to wake up. Remember, she had a psychotic break and started to shoot people in order to wake them up.
@@ryanthoroman3293 I think they go to a different place and can come back. The Civil War soldiers, the little boy in white, the dog, I believe we're all killed and have clearly come back. But sometimes they come back wrong, dark, evil. The monsters were all people who died and they came back...demonic. And you can clearly see that they are not from current times. They look like they are all from the 50's. The Milkman, the School Jock, and the girl who tricked Kevin into opening the window. They were all dressed in standard 1950's clothing. Maybe they were the original people from the town who died in some kind of massacre with Victor being the sole survivor.
If that is Abbey the show is written poorly. How can the writers introduce the viewers of the possibility that a person who dies in the town can come back as a spirit that can communicate to the living? Sara also had a mental health issue, but she can't hear her brother's voice. We have already been introduced to the spirits telling Sara about Father Khatri's buried bag. Why would they allow for a dead relative to have a voice? Why hasn't Donna's sister been able to speak to her? Why wasn't Frank's wife and/or daughter able to speak with him? How about Kenny's dad trying to talk with him or his wife? The aliens/creatures/monsters, clearly know details about the living people in the town. What we haven't experienced is that dead family members can speak to their living family members. Why introduce that in the 9th episode? Where is Victor when we need answers?!
@@ENTERTAINMENT-yv2ll I wish I had the answers, I can only speculate. Perhaps the newly dead go somewhere else or haven't had time to learn how to communicate. And maybe only the older dead can communicate or come back.
I wonder if Sara was supposed to kill Jim's son to break him so he wouldn't build the tower in the future. The tower will bring about the destruction of the town like a tower of babel.
I agree with you about the lighthouse and the horn sound which is a sound of a steam boat, they are in a seaport, I was telling that all the day to the people of the alien theory, I liked your idea about they were being dragged by a giant spider that makes a connection to victor drawing, I think they passed the borderline to another side of the world or to another time period.
The makers of this TV series have a history of leaving questions unanswered and exhibiting mediocre endings but I hope the finale is worth it cause I'd love to stick around for a 2nd season of this brilliant mind-boggling show.
Hey! I just want to say how much I love your videos- I binged them all after catching up on From recently. Your research and analysis skills and ability to tell a story and put pieces together is truly unmatched. Your voice is also so calming and enjoyable to listen to. I am looking forward to season 2 videos! Thanks for your great work!
Good catch with the long leg, if you notice when the tent is being drag you don’t here any heavy footsteps so it’s either something like a bird or in this case maybe a spider.
Victor said that the trees move. But supposed it's not the trees that move, but the whole damn forest move. I think the forest move Boyd and Sara, and the light that they see is coming from a lighthouses.
It's possible that the pocket universe was shifting to another geographical place. That would explain how people from different locations see the fallen tree. It also explains why a new bus came in in the season finale.
Leads to the creatures resting place smh it still doesn’t make sense lol, but can mean that the creatures are making the people have a false sense of security by giving them light
I don’t know if we are dealing with UFO or instead with Norse mythology but I know I am enjoying the ride! Very detailed breakdown: fantastic! Thanks for your work. Can’t wait fir the finale!
The link between the Norse mythologies is astonishing, and I really hope the plot is in this way than in the alien one. The hanging of people and the bottles, there must be a connection here. The horn and the light house, all mean something as Jim hanging upside done in the lighthouse maybe connected to the antenna he build on guest house, as all three are use to communicate , one by sound wave one by light wave the other by radio wave signals. Yes Waves is the connection here. What do you think?
That’s an excellent observation! I think there may definitely be something to that. There’s also the way Jim said in episode #8 “radio waves work in ways we can’t.” The creators of the show may like to take their time to slowburn things in, but nearly everything shown and said in this show is very deliberate. Regarding the alien theory, my issue with it is that I don’t see how it adds meaning to the story of the characters, and one of the executive producers of the show himself said that the show is based on mythology. I love the topic of aliens/UFOs, but the very idea of aliens is losing popularity as there are other alternatives that may be more likely and compelling, such as intraterrestrial and interdimensional beings-which technically wouldn’t fall under the label of aliens. There could be primordial beings that have always existed among us but in a different frequency (that doesn’t make them aliens).
Jim hanging upside down did he look like he was reaching almost like trying to build the tower up and instead he’s building down. I’m just thinking about how he’s trying to build up and dig down 🤔
OMG, you may not realize this but you literally just gave way to a theory I have for Raised By Wolves and Marcus. This is why I love your channel and it's deep insight into mythology.
Obviously it was the spider who dragged them to the lighthouse. The significance of the spider and lighthouse hopefully will be explained in episode 10.This show is starting to drag.I can understand and get behind world building but it's really starting to ask too many questions and not give any answers.
I feel the same they probably will show us what's going on then it will go off leaving us on a cliffhanger until s2 smh but it's a great show they spent to much time mourning an unknown character the guy who hung himself
@@Marcus-th7hf the character was Eric. We talked about that. The Et spent so much time having everyone be affected and people getting out of character.
So idea if we are following mythology and the far away trees. The far away trees kind of make me think of the Norse world tree, which could transport people through the 9 worlds. If that is the case they could have transported to another world easily.
Truly interesting. I like your accent. I can't place it but I like it :) This has been a captivating watch, and I look forward to your next part. Eagerly I am hooked on the Norse theory rather than others, although in my mind there is a fairy-tale feel to the show too. Did you see that the arrows Boyd carved n the trees are like Tiwas, the Sky God.. representing authority (sorry, am I right on the rune?)
Thanks! That’s correct! That caught my attention but figured how much longer can I make the video? xD. They’re packing so many clues in every episode that we could go over them all day.
What if picking a bottle with a year in it means you'll be transported to that year written down??which means Boyd taking that one bottle with the year 1865,means they were transported back to that year?
I think the years on the stair + bottles represent the date of the creation of each of these "realms". And they are in the realm of 1978, as most of the monsters seem to be from approximately that time. And that means there are more sister-realms like this, each one a different (or the same?) town with monsters who look like the humans who inhabitated the place at that time. Also note that there are 9 numbers on the stairs, that might also be symbolic of the 9 asgardian realms. Just a theory I got from watching your video.
Recently I have noticed something about the spider in Victor's drawing, it's a spider and drops of water, and below the spider, there is water like a lake, I can tell this is a reference to the lake of tears that Ethan was talking about in previous episodes from his storybook, he was talking about a lake of tears and a spider, so I think what happened in the town and the forest has a connection with the kids storybook, and Victor's drawing and maybe Boyd and Sarah they reached to that lake.
Is there something up with the spiders? In the first episode the lil boy talks about spiders crawling down from the ceiling. We see this episode that victor had multiple drawings of spiders. Jim hanging upside down reminded me of a spider as well
@FromLand What I find sort of annoying is that no one in this town is keeping a ledger or a form of accountability tracker of who enters the town and when. This would greatly help their ability to conduct research on the nature of their situation. If time moves the same (days, months, years) then there's a massive possibility that they are still in the same plane of existence/planet/universe as Earth. This ledger would keep track of their current state of time as in how many hours pass in a day until night fall. Comparatively, they can cross reference this time with their understanding of earth (24 hrs in a day) and even the position of the stars/moon to give them a general location/ coordinates on earth. This ledger would also have the names of those who arrive in the town with a small bio (who they are, where they are from, and their profession) This will give the townsfolk the ability to accuratly measure time and the space around them in order to determine if time moves faster or slower or even not at all. NO ONE IS DOING THIS AND IT MAKES ME SO MAD RN LOL. Also it would be a generally good idea to keep track of those who enter the town for different reasons. The ledger would provide accurate names and personal information. If they escape, the ledger would be vital and conclusive evidence in listing all missing persons cases that correlated to this mysterious pocket universe. The government would have to respond to this swiftly and I assume an investigation into the matter, no matter how secretive, would commence. Also! The ledger would give the people of the community the opportunity to determine if these people that arrived in the town are linked in some way. Either by some commonality that singled them and their family's out to be chosen for the town. As well as determining if these people are even from the same universe (inaccuracies between historical moments recalled by each individual). Omfg this would help them so much. I need to be I'm this town rn lol...
You are absolutely correct. I also wondered why no one in town keeps a record of the individuals who lost their lives. It would be important to keep a record of people who enter the town and when they perish. I wonder if family members of the deceased have also wound up in the town.
Sarah is a Medium, just like Ethan. Those bottles in the tree can be used as weapons against the creatures. The chiming sounds that emanate from them could possible serve as a deterrence.
I have a different theory. Episode 10 is titled "Oh, The places we will go". Those years in the bottles I assume as the same ones on the stairs. All of those years are leap years. I think when Sheriff opened it Sara sensed a Time Rift. I think they time traveled.
Victor has a drawing of a land mass surrounded by water, a island, if that's were Boyd and the crew are the boat makes total sense now, I'm assuming the boat will take them to the next part of the story...
I want to highlight something that I started to see a connection with. Please take no offense. There was a flashback of an AF-American male soldier with a blue coat. It looked to be from the civil war/Revolutionary war era. FFwd to Tabitha's flashback/dream on the stairs. All the years have a war listed. One war, in particular, was the Japanese War I believe. Note, that there are both ethnic backgrounds; Asian (Dinner Lady) and African American (Boyd) in their community. The diner lady (sorry, forgot her name ) on another episode pulled out a photo of her father or uncle, while in the backroom Of the Diner with Jade. Notice the kind of clothing he wore. I'm saying this to say, I believe those years are continuing or this is the conclusion to the timeline. Every character there throughout their lineage has set foot on that land. The soil is spiritually active. This show has a lot of dualities, Norse, biblical/spiritual, and ancient references.
Great connection! Also, the town is named Abbeville, South Carolina. That town played an important part, in the Civil War. If you try and read the newspaper, during the show's opening, you will discover some interesting things.
I’m so tired of the alien crap and that guy Teflon tv gets so annoyed when people say they don’t like the alien theory. I like this analysis better, too
@@jenibarra385 Ahaha yup true, he's really sure it's aliens x) for me, I'm definitely not sure what it is, but I do have some theories, and I don't really think it's aliens, but we'll see
@@louisianimal24 My thoughts exactly! So aliens would just be unable to enter a house that has a talisman with nordic runes? That doesn't really makes sense, so a more mystical/supernatural answer is the way to go
I love this show but it is just adding more questions. The boy in white jade's visions and the symbol, the talismans, what the things are the Faraway trees where the hell did Victor go the hole in the basement now this woods lights horns shit, how can they answer all that in one episode?!
Good theory about the jukeboxes at the diner, the static on the radio and the flickering lights. On a broader scale they’re probably behind the electricity as a whole. But what about the NEW voice?
I suspect Sara may just have the ability to commune with different types of entities in the ethereal/spirit plane, and that voice may have actually been Abby’s.
I thing that there is a strong argument Boyd and Sara have been placed in a road where there is moving traffic. I think the sound and lights give a strong indication of moving traffic, perhaps back at the road where they got lost?
bro where TF did you get this info from!! lol The internet has been going CRAZY trying to decipher this show...and your on it. I believe the Norse mythology over the aliens. Guess we'll see next week! Place your bets!
Sara is a vehicle used by the Monsters. In Episode 2 she killed Jade's Friend under instructions from 'the Voices in her Head' who told her to make it look like the Monsters did it. After the killing, when she was leaving the Hospital/Infirmary (where Kenny's dad lived) she Left the Door Open and the Monsters enter and kill him and another Woman. How did she went back to her Home (she lives with her brother Nathan) without the Monsters attacking her? Will this be important later or it was an omission from the Show Creators? Is she a kind of Medium being used by multiple Entities like the Monsters or Abbe-Boyd's Dead Wife? The biggest Problem though is that there are no news yet about a 2nd Season for the Show.
That’s a good point and I think it wasn’t completely nighttime when she left the hospital. Another thing to consider is that if the boy in white can guide victor and Ethan to safety at night, maybe the voices can also do this? If she’s inherently gifted with the ability to connect with the spirit world, is also possible she may be able to commute with more than one type of non-corporeal entity (like you suggested).
There is a preview picture of episode 10 on official From website showing Boyd and Sarah standing and behind them a spider web, which confirms they were dragged by a spider, sorry to the people of the alien theory
At first i thought it could’ve been a light house boat noise but if you look at when they are being thrown around in the tent, if you look at the background you see trees moving so fast like if something is pulling them, then you have the ground that the family digging found after looking for where electricity comes. I think they may be on a space ship it has to be aliens
The upside down symbol is also the fool in tarot, which is taking risks in search of knowledge, etc. the light house can also be seen as the tower card in tarot sometimes which means a destruction of old belief systems. A sudden change in psyche that changes how you perceive Life
Most likely a giant spider. You could quickly see giant spider legs moving along with the tent. It seems as though the spider was dragging the tent towards their nest.
That horn is called a "bugle" and it was used by civil war soldiers to send messages to each other at a distance. However, it sounds very different from the warning sound/horn that Boyd, Sara, and Tabitha heard on this episode.
A lot of people think it's aliens, but if it's aliens I don't see how spirits would be involved too. It's going to be interesting to see where it goes.
Somethin I've been thinking about is why is it called "FRoM" and why is it spelled that way? Is it a lowercase "o" or is it a zero? I wonder if the people are not only being pulled from different places but different times as well
The Show uses mainly Norse Symbolisms and i am thinking maybe the Monsters have something to do with Norse Mythology. Are there any similar Kind of Entities in the Norse Folklore? Does anybody know anything about it? Also there must be some Time-Loop Element in the Town and the Trapped People there. I read elsewhere Theories about the Monsters being Aliens but i don't see how that fits with what we have seen up to now.
Initially, I suggested that the monsters could be draugrs (which are basically zombies in Norse mythology with the ability to shapeshift). They could also be dark elves. However, I suspect the creators may have taken some creative liberties with the monsters here, and I think they were humans who were turned into these creatures, or something like "shadows" from the unconscious minds of the people who resided in the town (based on my Jungian analysis of the show).
I think that the Voices speaking to Sarah do not want what is Good for the People trapped in Town. She killed Jade's Friend Toby (the first Night they Arrived ) and made it look like the Monsters did it and later instructed by the Voices again to kill Ethan. How this would be beneficial for the Trapped people? One of the Biggest Mysteries is Victor and especially that Little Lunch Box he always carries with him
I agree with you. It’s also possible that not all the voices have the same interests/intentions, the same way the living vary in their intentions. For example, Sara highlighted that “this time was different… it was a woman.”
@@FromLand if they wanted the monsters to come in and kill people in the clinic, why have Sara kill him and make it look like the monsters? She could just leave the door open and walk out. They are manipulating Sara to release her dark side, they are not good
When I saw the images of Jim and the other men hanging upside down, I thought of the Danza de los Voladores- a pre-Hispanic ritual. But I guess symbols in mythology are the same no matter where they show up.
All years scribed on the stairs are leap years. I believe previous occupants travel to these years. Also we are about to discover that Sherrif and Sara traveled to the year Sherrif pulled out of the bottle. They may be in different dimensions which may bring new monsters.
I don’t think all of the years are leap years, several of them seem to be regular years. However, I believe there may actually be time travel involved in the show somehow.
@@FromLand 1752 the astronomical timeline was adopted. 1931 puts the nail in the coffin. Al Copone was convicted of tax fraud. Vegas lagalized gambling.
Ok here is a strange connection. The name Loki is similar to the word “locke” which means spider…. From a Norse Mythology web site: “Loki is best-known in the guise of the Trickster - the god who continually gets into mischief, has his escapades go horribly wrong, gets compelled by the other gods to fix the results of his troublemaking, and ends up doing good in the end as a sort of byproduct of his machinations. One of the more intriguing etymologies of his name connects it to the Swedish dialect-word Locke ("spider"), which places Loki in the world continuum of Trickster Gods with animal forms.”
Loki is definitely connected with spiders (so it is said given the literature). This fits very well with the interpretation of the forces of chaos (led by Loki) vs order. I'll soon be going deeper into the spider symbology and other clues in my next video.
@@FromLand so cool! Thank you, I can’t wait!!! Love your channel it’s my favorite. Especially because your are polite and and honor what other people say even if you don’t necessarily agree. Very grateful for your content 🙏🏻
The dates all refer to massacres, as you suspected in this video. Here are the ones I could find: The Lisbon Massacre (1506), where "a crowd of Catholics and foreign sailors "who were anchored in the Tagus, persecuted, tortured, killed, and burnt at the stake -- The St. Bartholomew's Massacre (1572, "a targeted group of assassinations and a wave of Catholic mob violence, directed against the Huguenots -- The Corpses of the De Witt Brothers (1672), of which their remains a famous panting of the dead and mutilated bodies of the brothers Johan and Cornelis de Witt hanging upside down -- The Bisbee Massacre (1883), when 6 outlaws were hanged -- the Chhota Ghallughara (1746) when an estimated 7,000 Sikhs were killed during a massacre in Punjab, India. Then last, but not least - the Crispus Attucks martyrdom, which kicked off the Boston Massacre(s) as we know it (from 1720-1773, roughly). From Wikipedia: "Historians disagree on whether he was a free man or an escaped slave, but most agree that he was of Native American (specifically Wampanoag) and African descent. Attucks became an icon of the anti-slavery movement in the mid-19th century. Supporters of the abolition movement lauded him for playing a heroic role in the history of the United States." This show is all about an endless spiral of massacres and spirals. And you know what Crispus Attucks did for a living? He was a sailor, just like Boyd was (and may be once again). Gosh, what a masterpiece of a show. Thanks for doing these vids, FromLand. It seems like no one is paying attention, and I pray it gets picked up for another season 💗👻👤
EXCELLENT THEORY!!! I looked up additional dates carved on the wall in the dream. 1931 and 1978. Both also connect to mass deaths. 1931 was the Soviet Famine and 1978 was the Jones Town mass suicides.
@@skippersnacks I agree, and I suspect that this is precisely the writers' point. I was merely reporting the specific massacres, lynchings, and other famous (or in many cases, not so famous) attacks that I could find via a quick google search. It's like HBO's Watchmen's brilliant opening depicting the Tulsa Race Massacre, but with way more of these real-life, horrific attacks that barely anyone seemed to know about until it aired. The folks who end up in this mysterious "place" are obviously stuck in some sort of time loop -- a loop of violence/attacks/massacres -- and IMO the show is all about how to transcend this human tendency in order to "escape" this senseless spiral, this zero sum game with seemingly no end of sight. My personal theory is that WE (the townsfolk being a metaphor for us, the viewers) are the real monsters, ultimately. The ones in the woods are just more people who got trapped in this realm, like a vampire or werefolf who "never asked to be this way," -- Innocent people who were killed just for their race, or their belief, or simply for where they were "From." Just my 2 cents
@@starbrand3726 I had intended to mention Jonestown! Thanks for reminding me. I wonder if that particular massacre/mass suicide might be a bad omen for our beloved townspeople, as the show moves forward. 😕 Perhaps in future seasons (assuming it gets renewed, hopefully). The Soviet Famine date is another interesting choice on the writers' part, what with Victor's peaches running out. Huh... 🤔
I think the creatures are draugr. Fits with Norse mythology. I think odin is controlling wherever they are. The ravens, people hanging from the tree, the weird symbol jade sees, the magical tree.
I'm really getting the theory of that VR/AR game where they are memory wiped and such... I mean, the further they go out into the forest, the harder it gets to survive? First rounds of the forest they find food... Further on a cabin and a cave structure (save/checkpoints)... The electricity thing is the same as it would be in a video game? Combine that as a highly advanced technology for simulation that ALIENS use to experiment with? And YES they are ALIENS. But what are the aliens using them for? The town itself isn't been build by people as far as the "eletricity" thing goes. I think the aliens just want to examine the people who got far enough outside the forest to do some things with them? Send them back? Maybe they'll get transported to another town simular like the one they left, the exact same but with other people... And there he sees all the people who appear as monsters in Boyd's town, and in that other town Jim, Victor, and all the others we now all know and love, are the monsters in that other town... Or appear as. That would make for a nice twist :D Maybe a prison of some kind... Just putting my faith in these theories... (( if people don't like them, I don't care, but you do, enough to comment how much some "don't like it" :D ))
That's definitely a possibility, and a very cool one! However, if they are in some sort of sophisticated simulation as some sort of longitudinal psychological experiment, I think the potential explanations may not necessarily be limited to extreterrestrials/aliens. It could be very advanced humans from a future timeline, or beings from a parallel dimension (which wouldn't count as aliens), or other entities or forms of life that have inhabited and evolved millions of years ago in the same planet, but we haven't detected due to their highly sophisticated technology. Maybe they are testing groups of humans to determine whether we can peacefully coexist/interact with them, since we see that inter-relational conflict/division is a theme of the show. I think those are cool alternatives that may be less cliche than the alien theory.
@@FromLand With only 1 episode to go... I think it will end (with cliffhangers on all parties) this season... Jim will get the radiotower working, he will hear a voice talking to him, it will be "Thomas", that will shock him to his core, he will lose his balance, and with a sudden lightning strike, he will fall down unconsciously and won't wake up until somewhere second season... Bc of the lighting strike the colony house will catch fire (just like one of Victors drawings foreshadowed this). Boyd and Sarah will come across something that will raise more questions than answers. Jade will find, eventually, Victor doing godknowswhat and something amazing or terrifying should happen to both of them as well. Combine that with the "parallel town", "aliens", "simulation", "alien tech", "vr game", "memory wiped", ... It could be a mix of all actually. Maybe those "aliens" are advanced humans from the future simulation with the power of their consciousness... Maybe THAT is what powers the town... The presents of people...
It does in many ways look like they are hinting at aliens but what kind of aliens need an invite to come in or are repelled by stones with symbols? If it was like superman and kryptonite, they still wouldn't be able to come into a place just because it fell on the floor. Why would any entity provide them with animals and power from seemingly no where then only hunt them at night. If you have the power to create this realm why would you limit yourself in your ability to function? The time space they are in must not be in the control of the monsters. Maybe more than 2 or 3 other type of beings stuck there too. The monsters appear to be dressed from different eras. Were they once human? Whatever was pulling the tent was not one of them. I hope the writers have a brilliant conclusion in mind and give some answers next epi and not just more questions.
@@skippersnacks Who says those monsters are "the" aliens? If the theory would hold about VR stuff and such, those monsters could be just some npc's... Controlled by the 'real' aliens. Those stones/symbols would work in a "game" :p there are many evidence it could turn out in such a direction as well. And why they are dressed "old fashion"? Maybe because those "npc's" haven't been upgraded yet since the last cycles...? :D But whatever it will be, it is already so F awesome, but I'm afraid, if they would show us all their cards on the table, many wouldn't be intrested in the show anymore... Many love the many questions and the mystery, I think they'll keep as much a mystery as they can...
I think something it should also be discuss is the symbol that is been seen in the entire series because it looks like the teeth from the monsters. And also why the monsters use so odd clothes from different decades.
I have some speculations about it, which I'll maybe discuss in a later video. I suspect that symbol in particular may be more of a creative product from the producer/s. If the latter is the case, then its meaning could be arbitrary. What we know is that there are 3 lines, and this number is somehow significant in the show. The number 3 is not only sacred in Norse mythology but other religions as well (e.g., the holy trinity, the three planes, etc.). Carl Jung also said that the mind was divided into 3 parts (i.e., ego, personal unconscious, collective unconscious).
I bet he'll run into "the others" in the forrest. they're the ones sending all the chickens and goats so many parallels with "lost" makes it almost predictable
Ok. This just occurred to me. Father Khatri was talking about a new book of the Bible. And Victor’s drawings show a flood. Boyd keeps talking about a boat… what if there is going to be some kind of Noah’s ark situation and it really is another book of the Bible somehow?
That makes a lot of sense! In my analysis of episode #7 I suggested that maybe Victor’s booklet of drawings are the equivalent of Khatri’s vision of a 74th book of the Bible. It may also be that the town itself is some sort of ark of sorts (explaining why there are so many different creatures/monsters in it).
It is said that the Norse god Loki (who represents the forces of chaos) is associated with spiders and webs 🕸. The mythology in the show very strongly references the forces of chaos vs order mythology. The spider is also considered a symbol of the shadow self/the dark inner opposite in Jungian psychology.
The empty bottle on the stairs of what looks like a light house steps, I’m thinking they might have to write the present year, or the year this started for all of them, and put it in a bottle, and hang it up in that tree with the others, this might help them all out of this. I don’t know if this has anything to do with what’s going on. But The toys of Ethan on the lighthouse steps seems to stick out for me. Ethan is a part of what is going on, so is the boy in white, and young victor. They are the reason why they are there. I believe what is happening to them is a children’s Mythology story book when read it comes to life. This is happening to them because of the book. Remember Ethan likes that book they all read to him, it’s a fantasy children’s story book. This is just a little theory of mine. It could mean nothing. I hope what I’m trying to Say is making any sense to you all. I wish I could tell You more but it’s hard to put it in words.
Beautiful video, as per usual. Let me throw my Jinn-shaped hat in the ring in addition to your stellar breakdown of Carl Gustav Jung's concepts of the shadow self and true self/individuation (which hopefully apply to the show since they would imbue the narrative with almost unfathomable depth). Upon consulting an online source listing several characteristics of Jinn, I came across some that might corroborate my infant theory (that basically only came to be due to the Jinn-bottle association to be embarrassingly honest): - Jinn can take the shape of humans and animals. - They're said to dwell in a wide variety of inanimate objects, such as stones and trees (!). - They delight in punishing humans for the injustice that was visited upon them, which in a sense amounts to potentially thousands of years spent in captivity and slavery. - Whoever is privy to the proper magical procedure can exploit Jinn to their advantage: either somebody already weaponized them beforehand and employs them as a deterrent to anyone trying to leave the town/encroach on yet another community's territory or someone like Fatima, a muslim, was at least already aware on some level of the forest dwellers' true nature and therefore able to save Ellis and herself. - They were said to inspire poets (the author whose works remain the last echo of culture all throughout the town?, Victor, Ethan) and soothsayers (Sara).
I like the possibility of the Jinn/monsters being somehow weaponized to serve as deterrent from people venturing into the forest. In mythology we see that treasures are usually guarded by dragons, making it hard or impossible for people to get to them unless the hero slays the dragon. I feel that a similar situation is taking place in the show, and maybe the treasure beyond the forest/behind all the deterrents has more to do with their own identity/self, once again connecting with the concept of self-realization (which I do also hope has been deliberately embedded into the show, like you said).
They do seem like Jinn. Jinn can read your mind and shapeshift, pretend to be people you know. They can get inside your head and give you ideas, make you hear voices. Certain magic can ward them off. They don't like daytime.. But can be in the day so that part makes me rethink it.
I gotta add something regarding the Norse mythology hints you picked up on: Odin hangs himself from Yggdrasil for nine days and nine nights in order to gain knowledge of other worlds and understand the runes. The hanging takes place in episode 9, the lighthouse (or whatever that intense ray's origin may be) could very well represent some sort of insight/enlightenment unlocked by the hanging, and the runes refer to both the talismans and the symbol gradually eroding Jade's mind.
You can look at it like the riddles you find behind the box of cereal to get the magic ring. You could either just eat the cereal, or (if you want some extra entertainment/value) you can solve the riddles and get the ring. The underlying symbological details also add depth and meaning to the show beyond what's explicitly said in the dialogue.
Maybe those creatures curse and forced to kill them just like she was forced and told to kill or to kill people Maybe they believe that curse will be lifted if they kill them
Is everyone going to be absolutely fuming if it turns out the writers don't have a clue, there isn't any actual mythology in the show, the odd line up of dates and events is a coincidence and they're winging it?
One of the executive producers of the show said at the beginning that "the" mythology is central to the story. Another one said that at the "end" of the series we'll all have answers. With that in mind, I don't think we'll get any definitive answers next season or any time soon up until the last season of the series.
PS - I hate Sarah. I refuse to invest in her character. So I hope the show quits making me sympathise with her. She caused the death of so many people and will probably cause the death of many more. I'm surprised she hasn't got her comeuppance yet, even with the death of her brother. They were quick to setup and blame the guy who got his family killed - but the mother is equally to blame, she could have nailed the windows too. I like your link to the vikings, as some believe they reached the US before Columbus.
Hi! Not gone 😄, just been super duper busy, but making sure that the content has the right quality. I’ll launch the videos for season 2 pretty soon :).
I much rather this guy's reviews than ANY other reviewer of this show. I come here and actually learn bc everyone else has the most basic theories we've all already thought of and it's just too complicated to be just some friggin aliens and vampires. I will be so mad if that's all there is to this show
Yes! This creator is brilliant.
I think it would be corny af if it is about aliens and vampires but especially Aliens.
Aliens theory is really stupid , why would aliens by blocked of from entering houses by magic rocks. This show is more about fantasy and mysticism not about freaking aliens.

They want our money more. With only 1 episode left for this season still none of those mysterious things and scenes
You are the only channel making the strong link between Norse gods and this show. Good Job.
I honestly don’t think it’s Norse gods. I think it’s aliens.
The show is listed as Sci fi horror not fantasy. If it's not aliens or time travel or some giant conspiracy they need to list it as a fantasy.
It’s an impressive connection if it’s correct. Too many links to Norse mythology.
Oh shit, what if only one person survives again. I'm guessing Ethan will survive
@@sassylostchild7711 that makes sense
I thought the boy in white saved victor from the Massacre. I'm clueless. I just hope the finale answers these burning questions
If that's abby.Does that mean people who are killed or die there go to a different place or does the girl talk to the dead?So many questions.
I think she was wrong about telling him to go deeper into the woods. I think their is going to be a punishment for them trying to leave.
Why not just kill Jim in that case? It seems more likely that the boy referred to is either Victor or "the boy in white".
i think the boy in white is evil and the one who needs killed.jims son is too easy a red herring
I also see a tower of babe theme here too.
Probably to stop the change and things the whole family plus other two guys in the car start setting in motion by trying to find answers.
Super interesting take !
I totally agree, great insight!!!
The makers of this TV series have a history of leaving questions unanswered and exhibiting mediocre endings but I hope the finale is worth it cause I'd love to stick around for a 2nd season of this brilliant mind-boggling show.

I didnt notice Tabitha was inside the light house! You enlightened me!
I'm gonna laugh if the wires lead to a bunker where you have to press a button every couple hours. Lol

Because he's a kid, and they think it's just imaginary babbling.
This is the greatest lesson of this show so far! Listen to children
Excellent theories! Best I've heard out of all youtubers covering this show. Im learning some stuff too. You must have been a psyc/history buff.
I don’t know if we are dealing with UFO or instead with Norse mythology but I know I am enjoying the ride! Very detailed breakdown: fantastic! Thanks for your work. Can’t wait fir the finale!
UFO and Norse mythology. Mmmm sounds like something... Stargate mhhmmmhhmm
I’m just thinking about how he’s trying to build up and dig down 🤔
I just hope we all live long enough to finish all the seasons lol
OMG, you may not realize this but you literally just gave way to a theory I have for Raised By Wolves and Marcus. This is why I love your channel and it's deep insight into mythology.
Could you please share that theory! I love that show.
Obviously it was the spider who dragged them to the lighthouse. The significance of the spider and lighthouse hopefully will be explained in episode 10.This show is starting to drag.I can understand and get behind world building but it's really starting to ask too many questions and not give any answers.
And why the spider 🕷 lol

That would be so fucked up
That’d be wild

oh wow, that's a good one, please don't send that brotha to 1865 don't do that to that man
@@monharris28 a black man with a white girl prisoner won't go well if they really went back to that year
I think the years on the stair + bottles represent the date of the creation of each of these "realms".
That would be a really cool twist.
Jim hanging upside down reminded me of a spider as well
@FromLand
What I find sort of annoying is that no one in this town is keeping a ledger or a form of accountability tracker of who enters the town and when.
I'm guessing these things must be some type of alchemation of all mythological and folkloric representations of revenants.
This is a fact, your video editing is getting better and better. Keep it up FL👍👏😀
Thanks! 🙏
The number of that year may bring significance of maybe hope or something so it may weaken the dimension or the creatures there
Victor has a drawing of a land mass surrounded by water, a island, if that's were Boyd and the crew are the boat makes total sense now, I'm assuming the boat will take them to the next part of the story...

I think something like a hatch door to an underground bunker or some sort of box/time capsule is more likely (but we’ll see).
This series remembers me "Lost", so enigmatic.
Thanks you. 😊

Most likely a giant spider. You could quickly see giant spider legs moving along with the tent. It seems as though the spider was dragging the tent towards their nest.
Anyone else notice in Episode 6,in Jade's hallucination, there was a horn on the civil war soldier's hat?
That horn is called a "bugle" and it was used by civil war soldiers to send messages to each other at a distance. However, it sounds very different from the warning sound/horn that Boyd, Sara, and Tabitha heard on this episode.

Did anyone else see the huge snowglobe when Ethan was looking at the pictures?
Could it be a reference to the world freezing in Ragnarök? 👀
Good analysis.
I think the town is cursed. Someone cursed the town years ago. Not sure why, but happened.

Supporters of the abolition movement lauded him for playing a heroic role in the history of the United States."
This show is all about an endless spiral of massacres and spirals.
I hate to say this but I bet any year in human history had a giant massacre of some sort.
Perhaps in future seasons (assuming it gets renewed, hopefully).
That would make for a nice twist :D
Maybe a prison of some kind...
But whatever it will be, it is already so F awesome, but I'm afraid, if they would show us all their cards on the table, many wouldn't be intrested in the show anymore...
Isn't the actor in the TV show Spiral?
You mean Chris Rock? xD
Where I can watch this series plsss someone help me
You can watch on Amazon Prime and MGM+ (mgmplus.com)
All of the other people are connected by war death or sickness somehow, they're all meant to be there
I bet he'll run into "the others" in the forrest. they're the ones sending all the chickens and goats
so many parallels with "lost" makes it almost predictable
do tell about the many parallels bc i see maybe 2 or 3
Just found this show and this channel.... is this Filmento??
Haha, just looked up "Filmento.’ Cool content.
where can i watch it for free?
Host... What is your opinion r/t mythology and spider connection?
Cool
Does anybody else think that the town picture bird's-eye view of it looks like yggdrasil
I think so! I mentioned that on my first analysis of the series.
Where is episode 10 preview?
It was just posted on the official Epix website. You can see spider webs in one of the images 👀,
when is the next episode coming? 1x10
Next Sunday 4/10
Where is Victor????
Most likely escaped somewhere through the faraway trees. We’ll see him again on the season finale.
Upon consulting an online source listing several characteristics of Jinn, I came across some that might corroborate my infant theory (that basically only came to be due to the Jinn-bottle association to be embarrassingly honest):
- Jinn can take the shape of humans and animals.
Excellent catch and observation!!
I think the tree is a ju ju tree.
Lol how TF are we supposed to know all these intricate mythological details being casual watchers
@@FromLand that's cool
Where is this channel when we need it?
Hi! Not gone 😄, just been super duper busy, but making sure that the content has the right quality. I’ll launch the videos for season 2 pretty soon :).
Love this show!
Hmm, i does sound like a horn, boat horn
You sound just like the guys that plays, Cities Skylines on his channel
Haha, do you have a link to that channel?
