So my boyfriend's parents do optavia. I started researched it because I have never heard of anyone eating so much packaged foods for weight loss. They have lost weight quickly and looked great. They went on their anniversary vacation and gained 9 pounds each in a week. After that it has been like, not able to stick to the 5-1. It's like I ate this bad food with many carbs yesterday so I will restrict with the fueling today. They look at my boyfriend and I weird because we eat sardines, anchovies, Brazil nuts, pumpkin seeds, quinoa, arugula, wild caught salmon, organ meats to name a few things. Plus physical activity like every day since we have a dog and we play various sports 4 times a week (tennis, soccer and golf to name a few). All this came from my mom who was a pharmacist, eat whole foods, daily activity, play many sports together. Don't grow old and fat. I was obese before, I lost weight with daily activity, eating whole foods and therapy to learn better coping skills

It's kind of how eating feels to me, and I'm not even remotely on a diet or in an MLM. 😂 I eat when I realize it's unhealthy for me not to do so, and that's about it. Low blood sugar? Eat something. Blurry vision, stumbling? Eat something. Vomiting bile? Eat something. 😂
I was taking a shower while listening to this video and thought my cat started yelling at me. I had to open the curtain but didn’t see my kitties then realized I was hearing one of yours! Your cats are so dang cute. I love whenever they make an appearance
I know I’m really late with this video, but literally the same thing but I thought it was my kid saying “MOMMMM”. I opened the shower curtain then realized he’s in school 😅
If ANYONE suggests they know or can show you “who you really are,” RUN. Even a therapist will not claim to know “who you really are.” Their job is to help YOU figure out/understand who you are. Certainly people who love you might encourage you to step outside your comfort zone, or suggest you are underestimating your abilities in some way, but nobody should claim to know you better than you know yourself. That is a manipulation.
My husband did Optivia and I knew instantly it was an mlm. He did it for 2 months and he dropped weight quickly but he was working out and it made him feel terrible. He brought this up to his coach and she told him he should stop working out and change up his fuelings. I was infuriated when within the first 2 weeks of him doing optivia she pitched to him about becoming a coach. My husband has 0 background in nutrition and they want him to coach someone on a weight loss journey. Super sus business tbh
I did it back in 2014. I lost a bunch of weight, but I knew something was fishy when they tried to get me to become a coach also. I’m a nurse. I’ve studied nutrition, but I’m far from an expert. I had no right to be coaching anyone.
Yes, I appreciate how kind she is to the victims of the shameworthy practices of the MLM predators. I think this is why people are so willing to share their own horror stories.
Beside the fact that I enjoy listening to Hannah read these horror stories, I always look forward to hearing from her fur babies or seeing them pop up at the desk. It's one of my favorite parts of her videos 😊.
New subscriber here, found you when I was researching optavia. I was obese and managed to lose weight eating whole foods, daily excerise and therapy for better coping skills. My boyfriend's parents are on optavia and not losing weight, just showing binging and restrictive eating patterns. Love your style ♥️
@@catz7679 thanks, when my boyfriend's parents started eating their fueling meals for weight loss, I was like 🤨. I grew up in Canada now in USA so I am used to high prices, 430 USD a month plus groceries is alarming even for me. Then they went for their anniversary vacation, gained 9 pounds in a week by allowing it all you can eat. They never really bounced back into only restrictive eating. Now it appears to be, okay I ate these many carbs these bad foods yesterday, now I am going to restrict today. My boyfriend already thinks these diets are scams. His parents look funny at as for eating anchovies, Brazil nuts, pumpkin seeds, quinoa, sardines, kimchi, sauerkraut, seaweed salad. It's so bizarre 🤣
Yup! Hannah is incredibly genuine and charismatic. Thank goodness she uses these characteristics to do good rather than to promote a “business opportunity.”
@@MindiB yes she is so genuine and, idk if this is the right word but it's the best one I got, but, "pure". I guess, like, I know her intentions are pure, you know what I mean? That's why she's my favorite antimlmer, she's kind, genuine, humble, pure, and most of all, the the only antimlmer that I actually believe is only criticizing the manipulative behaviors and not the people nor their beliefs that aren't related to the MLM. That's really important to me, I don't mind if creators don't think the way I do but I do mind when it's obvious they look down on others who don't think the way they do. Edit to add: I also appreciate that she doesn't try to police her community and comments, she doesn't say what is and isn't acceptable except not to blame these people for falling for manipulation, and don't directly attack or put down anyone, she doesn't ask people not to express their own views on certain topics. I try not to express controversial opinions just cuz I don't like the stress the responses cause but I just get grossed out when creators tell their community what they are or aren't allowed to talk about, say,, or express. Obviously no direct attacks are okay but other than that people should be allowed to express themselves, I'm a big believer of free speech being the best way to have good and bad ideas tested... if people want to say something controversial or stupid and risk a bunch of people jumping down their throats for saying it, let them do it, let there actually be a discussion so people can decide for themselveswhat to believe. I don't even feel like I'm allowed to express THIS controversial opinion on certain other antimlm creators' videos.
I haven't finished watching the video yet, but I just had to say that I really liked how you addressed the feelings of the first person's story. You didn't say, "don't feel bad or embarrassed," which is honestly what I would have said, but by saying it the way you did it doesn't feel invalidating and it doesn't label any emotions as bad or good, which is something I think everyone has trouble understanding. Embarrassment isn't bad or good and neither is happiness or sadness. They are emotions in response to life and labeling them that way really fights against toxic positivity.
When I was in college a friend asked me to visit her family during a long weekend. She knew I lived 8 hours away and would be lonely during the weekend. But she warned me that we would be eating out for every meal. I told her that I couldn't afford it but she said she'd pay, don't worry about it. When I got to her home I found out why, her parents were on Optavia (it may have been called something else, but it's the same idea). But at the time it was only shakes and they ate them for every meal. There was no food in the house; this was why we had to eat out for every meal. We couldn't bring anything into the house to eat, either. Her parents had lost over 60 lbs on the diet by that point. But they were very hangry and didn't make a good impression on me. The worst part was her younger brother still lived at home. Because he was under 18, it was suggested that he not be on the diet. But he had to eat out for every meal. He put on an extreme amount of weight during the six months his parents were on the diet. Her parents eventually made it to over 100 lbs of weight loss each (I think her father lost 135). But as we know this level of eating is not sustainable. They finally broke the diet around Christmas. By the end of the school year, all the weight they lost was gained back. The son who only had a mild weight problem at the beginning of their diet, now had a major obesity problem. The weight loss/weight gain during the course of the year did a lot of damage to their bodies. Also, we know the diet is terribly expensive so all of that money went down the tubes. They were well off financially so luckily this didn't create an additional problem for them.
Tiny mini horror story: My mom invited me to an Avon party on Facebook yesterday. I declined it so fast I might've damaged my phone screen. As far as I know, she's not involved with Avon...but members of our family are, so I doubt this will be the last I hear of it...
Wow! My mom used to sell Avon ages ago and would let me play with the samples that she had leftover. I really thought this MLM was dead by now! Good on you for declining the party invite!
Anyone know where to get the one product I can only find at Avon? Skinsosoft is the only thing my family will use for mosquitoes because we have three very loving indoor-outdoor cats and it doesn't have deet or menthol in it.
It is so weird, because in my country Avon is quite normal company now. Basically i think you can even order online. And as the reps never (oriflame as well) never tried to recruit but rather just ordered stuff if someone wanted, it is so weird to hear that Avon in US is still as MLM as it can be...
My mom sold Avon for YEARS! She never recruited anyone. She had a pretty big customer base and liked to buy things as demo products. When I was in college she told me that I could sell and she would give me whatever I earned. I simply left books in random places and got a good number of orders. I usually made about $75 each time she put in the order. It wasn’t bad and I never had to do anything except hand out the Avon books
I’m a people pleaser and rarely ever complain about any service I receive, even if it’s bad. For example, if my order is wrong at a restaurant, I will just eat it anyway. But if I was getting a massage and the masseuse was EATING while giving me said massage, I would absolutely demand my money back😂
My boyfriend recently came across someone selling a bunch of optivia stock on fb marketplace. He had no idea what it was and showed me thinking I might want it because I love snacks. When I told him what it was and how little calories you're allowed to have and stuff like that he was taken aback. I felt so bad because I just know someone was suckered in and when they realize how terrible it was decided to sell off their stock.
I legit thought the cutco would have been a double whammy with Norwex 💀”lemme show you how these knives cut through raw chicken like butter, and also how easily it is to use these cloths to sanitize it all up afterwards!”
In sales I have heard this tactic called the "nibble" technique. You get the sales prospect to agree to something small, then keep adding more until you get to the end goal.
Optavia is one of the most sinister to me. I too have heart problems from stress/panic disorder and severe vitamin d deficiency. I'm 24 and had a baby last year my body is so depleted and exacerbated, I am so thankful I'm aware of mlms bc I live in a small town and stuff like this runs rampant. These products and pushy huns could seriously hurt someone like me who has hypertension and extreme fatigue and so many other things already. My Dr has me eating calcium dense foods so a plan like optavia would have made my problems sooo much worse. I have to be on heart meds now, and an 8-12 week vitamin d treatment. I am so thankful I listen to drs and not hons. Thinking about how much worse they are making people feel is really upsetting! I have been on my treat plan for two weeks my blood pressure and pulse are already back down to normal and the Dr said my skin is already looking so much brighter from the vitamin pill. It just scares me to think about getting worse instead of better. Good luck to her that wrote in I hope she stays healthy ☺️
Last year we were going through the process of adopting Internationally. I joined several FB groups pertaining to this topic. Huns hang out in these groups. They agree to give part of their proceeds to help fund your adoption. These ladies haven't even adopted themselves.
My husband’s boss is completely brainwashed by OPTAVIA. It’s so sad. He’s such an intelligent, funny, charismatic, caring man. I don’t know how he got involved but my husband says his boss will interrupt meetings with his cell phone alarm going off to remind him to take his “fueling” 🙄 I’ve told my husband to casually put your Optavia video on the work laptop when his boss walks in and see if we can save him! Lol
Loved your take on the donation to charity thing. I volunteer with a dog rescue and the "fundraising coordinator" is a Thirty One rep, so most of her fundraising activities are Thirty One sales where she "kindly" donates her sales to the rescue. Lucky she isn't overly pushy about it, but I know we could do much better fundraisers than selling overpriced, low quality bags and accessories. It just rubs me the wrong way because she recently did a "flash sale" where she was selling a bunch of her inventory at a ridiculously low rate (like $40 bags for $8) and claiming she's donating half of the proceeds to the rescue. This is clearly her attempting to offload accumulated inventory that she hasn't been able to sell otherwise. She did sell a decent amount of stuff, but I can't imagine that she donated more than $10 or $20 at the end of it.
I am so grateful I have come across these anti-MLM content providers, because I absolutely was roped into Usborne and Optavia and Scentsy without even realizing they were MLMs or really what that meant or the impact it had on the people I was purchasing from. I just knew I loved the books (though after the first 'me throwing an Usborne party' made me feel ick I went back to just purchasing them online for a while) and same with the Scentsy products. These videos really shine a lot of insight into these experiences and help me identify red flags I didn't realize were there that I can avoid, and help others avoid, in the future.
I’ve been thrifting books for years for my girls (and me) and I actually have found boat loads of Usborne books in many thrift stores. I live in Germany now and they are even here in the thrift stores.
Ok, so this happened just this last month. My husband has been seeing a weight loss specialist doctor and had been having a lot of trouble loosing the weight. The Dr told him that there was a meal plan my husband could do to loose the weight, but it was only a short term thing, that it could help Jumpstart the weightlist for him...so he said yes, and I said yes too, because I figured it'd be easier for him if I was doing it too, a team effort. The Dr had the expert call us to set it up. We told her our food allergies, she assured us that we could easilu return stuff if it wont work with iur allergies, and sent the payment. ...turns out it was Optavia. So now we are stuck with two large boxes of stuff we can't eat (had allergies anyways), and she is avoiding our calls after we told her it wouldn't work and wanted to return things. 🙃 😕 I'm upset we got tricked into this, and especially for an actual doctor for recommending this junk. I told my husband he needs to find a new doctor.
One time selling cutco, a customer bought one of the most expensive sets. And my "boss" told me at some point that billing was having trouble with getting payment from her. Which was far beyond my control at that point. 3 or 4 months later she was arrested and indicted in theft and fraud. (Apparently she was ripping off everyone and anyone)
@@jenl7094 I mean he was effectively the boss of the office we worked out of, he was in charge of hiring and training, I suppose firing too, but since we are all independent contractors we didn't have contracts with him we had it with cutco/vector, and I have no experience with people being fired or stories about it, most people just walk away, I mean theoretically I am an inactive seller and still can sell or "get my discount" at least that was all based on my experience and information from about 15 years ago but cutco/vector split territories to be run out of single offices. So while it is an MLM individual sales people didn't have the authority to sign people under them until they were a district or something manager. So it doesn't feel like an MLM when you're interviewing it just feels more like a shitty commission only sales position. He was also the terrory boss for like 5 or 6 other district offices. Its always weird to me when people call it an MLM because, in my experience it wasn't run like one. It's exploitative asf, and I would never encourage anyone to sign up. And a lot of stories I hear from people in these videos about the interview/hiring/training process is very accurate to my experience.
I’m absolutely addicted to these videos of yours. I think I’ve bingewatched (bingelistened?) all of your videos in the past week. Living in Belgium I’ve never really encountered mlm-huns like these so I’m super intrigued by these people and the format of these companies. Keep up the content, I’m absolutely obsessed.
The Library actually asked their school and library representative for help doing this. It was a huge endeavor on their part. I sent $325 worth of books with my part of the fundraiser and I did not take a commission on this fundraiser. The representative worked very hard and got a second request to help another area library. Hope that helps.
It is important to note that a new, hardcover children's book from legitimate channels will usually cost more than $15. That is a fair price for a new hardcover book, but of course it's better to not get them through an MLM.
Yeah, Usborne is the one MLM that I actually feel tempted to buy (I don't, but I'm tempted lol) Most of them aren't just story books, they're active and engaging and often include multiple interactive features like light-up pages, popping bubbles, see-through pages, stickers, sensory touchables, etc. I just bought a similar interactive Melissa and Doug book for my preschooler and it was $16.
@@aliciagoveia7602 yeah, they're hard to find resale. They're actually very quality books and most people who sell have kids of their own and don't dump the products when they leave (unlike most MLMs)
I was raised on Usborne books. Mind you, this was in the eighties. But the books at that point were way ahead of their time. They were THE BEST BOOKS. I think my mum was signed up, and would do the occasional party, but it mostly meant they got fantastic kids books for me and my brother at a reduced price.
I joined Usborne so I could buy the books for my own kid at a discount - didn’t care if I sold to anyone else or not. I do genuinely like the books. Not the worst MLM out there, especially since you don’t have to keep crapload of inventory on hand.
Makes my day seeing a new video. Someday maybe I’ll submit my own mlm horror story about the time I got roped into being unpaid help at a lip sense booth at a wedding show thinking I was going to have a nice weekend out of town instead. Silly me.
I just finished all of the horror stories up to date (while working my 9-5), so excited to see a new one :) Love the content, love the way you react, and love the message in general! Please keep going :)

Hannah I ABSOLUTELY love your channel. Your voice is so soothing and reassuring. I love to hear the stories, your explanations and insight. You're doing a wonderful service for anti MLM. I’m reading a book called Cultish by Amanda Montell and she has a section on MLM and the whole time your videos are going through my head. (It’s a book that discusses how language is used in these cultish organizations and they suck well meaning people. Totally recommend!)
I definitely really resonate with the second story! My best friend killed himself when we were 14 and his mom is absolutely big in suicide awareness because of it. A Pampered Chef hun used the opportunity of our fundraiser for the Out of the Darkness walk to have a party to "raise money" for it. She was very kind but very pushy. Made me uncomfortable knowing that no actual money was probably going towards the cause...
Hey @HannahAlonzo I just watched Young Sheldon Season 5 episode 12 and it’s about Sheldon’s mom unwittingly joining Mary Kay! She uses faith manipulation to sell to her bible study group and is tormented by her conscience for doing so! It’s a great episode on how the MLM model Is predatory!
I feel like that first story description of joining an MLM is similar to most people’s experience. It’s almost like the shape of the “bell curve” of joining an MLM 😅
Hi Hannah thank you for your videos. My local mall is going down hill and now they have Saturday market place where small businesses go set up tables to sell things and Mary Kay lady wanted to get my attention as I was walking by and I said “no thank you not interested but thank you” as kept walking away. Thanks to your videos lol
I’ve never heard of Usborne! Do you plan on doing a deep dive on them? Also, as someone who has a degree in primary education, how do you feel about the actual books? Love your vids!
They’re actually pretty decent books. You can sometimes find them in thrift stores. I saw a couple at an aquarium gift shop. I would recommend them if they weren’t an MLM.
Cutco! Omg I had a job interview with them when I was 18. Had no idea it was an mlm bc of the interview process. Then during the interview I was like “wtf….” It was so awkward and they called me about 30x after trying to get me to start
Ty for talking about usborne books, I've seen them all over my face book and there in my area, the friends freinds lost her husband with two young kids, starting selling usborne books because she she had to be there for her kids
Your cat is so vocal, I thought that was a child speaking 😂. I love it when cats essentially talk to you. My family mostly grew up with dogs, but I do miss having a cat.
My head cannon is that Hannah’s cats speak perfect English, and anytime they are heard yowling in the video it’s because they are so shocked by what they are hearing
Fellow massage therapist here. The suggestion to eat during massage just 1) made me gag thinking of all the dead keratinized cells on your hands mixed with oil going near food, 2) made me confused on how these ladies think massage works - both hands either on client at all times, or you're grabbing a tool, pillow etc. The regulations for massage therapists are highly against any of this hahahah
Every time Zeke says anything or hops up in the way of the camera, I just hear him saying, “that’s what you get for even questioning whether or not to bring me home.” 😂
Story 2 reminds me of a local Discovery Toys rep having people and businesses “sponsor” Easter baskets that our local children advocacy center would distribute (obviously they’ll take whatever help they can get for children and this isn’t anything negative about the advocacy center). It was literally a $1 woven basket with a Discovery Toy a few Dollar Tree toys and a handful of candy. I’m sure some people will say “hey at least she’s doing something nice” but just feels iffy when they’re making a profit off “charity”
I really feel for the person from Barbados. These MLMs are set to snare them. They are unaware of what an MLM is, the MLM sells it as a great way to make fast cash and be successful with minimal effort and "make your own schedule," which suits a foriegn student. Not being from here they fall for the pushy coaching and sales tactics. You really can't blame your friend at all. He was trying to survive and make a little extra money using what he was sold. Shame on the MLMs for preying on him.
My Cutco story was about 30 years ago. Just out of high school and no internet I didn't know better. Saw an ad in the paper and called. Showed for the interview and of course everyone there was hired. I went to 2 meetings and after they showed how to make their knifes look sharper than they were (using a piece of rope and slacking it so their marks knife won't cut and holding it tight when they use Cutco so of course it quickly cuts thru) and unfortunately 75 bucks later I noped out.

I did it back in 2014. I lost a bunch of weight, but I knew something was fishy when they tried to get me to become a coach also. I’m a nurse. I’ve studied nutrition, but I’m far from an expert. I had no right to be coaching anyone.
MLM reps who say doctors "just want to make money" off my health, make me want to yell, "AND YOU DON'T???"
I agree they are criminals. They are the ones who want the money!!
“To blame yourself would be to blame the victim” ❤️ I’m a newer subscriber, but I really love your videos. They’re so kind and well spoken
Zeke and I are in total agreement: unsolicited health/nutrition advice is the worst form of hunnery. I'm not quiet about it either, Zeke.
Giving bad advice is so dangerous
New subscriber here, found you when I was researching optavia. I was obese and managed to lose weight eating whole foods, daily excerise and therapy for better coping skills. My boyfriend's parents are on optavia and not losing weight, just showing binging and restrictive eating patterns. Love your style ♥️
Congrats! Oh doing it the healthy way.
I’m proud of you! Keep on the grind friend! You got this :)
When Hannah says she’s so happy that I’m here listening, I really feel like she means it. Do y’all feel that too?
Well ya , besides the fact that this is her job and views equal money she is pretty genuine IMO
They were well off financially so luckily this didn't create an additional problem for them.
you should email this to her, it sounds like a good story for these videos
That is disgusting. Can I feature this story on my channel?
My gosh I love it when the cats chime in on the discussion. They have their own hot take on it too.
@@angeldark404 you can order online (I think without having to get hun'd)
My mom sold Avon for YEARS! She never recruited anyone. She had a pretty big customer base and liked to buy things as demo products. When I was in college she told me that I could sell and she would give me whatever I earned. I simply left books in random places and got a good number of orders. I usually made about $75 each time she put in the order. It wasn’t bad and I never had to do anything except hand out the Avon books
I’m a people pleaser and rarely ever complain about any service I receive, even if it’s bad. For example, if my order is wrong at a restaurant, I will just eat it anyway. But if I was getting a massage and the masseuse was EATING while giving me said massage, I would absolutely demand my money back😂
Imagine having a massage and randomly hearing a gross chewing sound while trying to relax 🫣😅
Or crumbs falling on oiled skin😬
About to say that 😂😂😂 @@AnnieAnnieBuckwheatCakes
Even you cats know this is ridiculous!! What smart kitties 💜 I LOVE Hearing them chime in, they have the double pitch meows that are my very favorite
"she forgot to look over my info sheet where [my allergy] was written down"
DOOD WHAT IF SHE WAS SUPER ALLERGIC JFC
Right!?! As soon as raw chicken comes out in these stories, I'm just sure someone is going to lick something LOL
And the blood from slicing yourself with the knives!
Me in the middle of a massage as crumbs are falling on my head: well… it’s for her health.
😂😂😂
In sales I have heard this tactic called the "nibble" technique. You get the sales prospect to agree to something small, then keep adding more until you get to the end goal.
I love it when Zeke and Cooper feature you on their channel :D (XD love your cats lol)
Wow Hannah. I'm not sure if that was Zeke or Cooper, but whichever kitty made an appearance today certainly had a lot to say! I love vocal kitties.
15:39 Maybe this Plexus hun thought Phoebe Buffay from “Friends” was an example of a really professional massage therapist??? 😂😂😂😂😂
I'm obsessed with your videos! Just perfect to listen while I'm working. Keep the good fight against these awful companies. Greetings from Colombia
I'm not gonna lie i love hearing your cats' opinions on this mlm stuff XD very cute
I'm upset we got tricked into this, and especially for an actual doctor for recommending this junk. I told my husband he needs to find a new doctor.
Yesssss, perfect timing!!!! 🥳🥳Happy Birthday to Me!!!🥳🥳💜
Just what I needed while I put my 2 year old down for a nap!!! Thank you Hannah!! 💜
Happy birthday! Hope you have a GREAT day!
Happy birthday. It is my birthday today too!
Omg! I needed this with my coffee this morning! My son woke me up at 6am (not normal for my sleep cycle) and I’ve been a zombie ever since.
The "bite-sized nuggets of information" approach, is grooming.
Your Cutco boss?!? Now that’s the kind of story we need to hear
Perfect timing, I love listening to you while I get ready for work! ❤️ much love to you, AJ, Zeke, and Cooper!
I’m absolutely addicted to these videos of yours. I think I’ve bingewatched (bingelistened?) all of your videos in the past week. Living in Belgium I’ve never really encountered mlm-huns like these so I’m super intrigued by these people and the format of these companies. Keep up the content, I’m absolutely obsessed.
best thing to listen to while i "rest my eyes" this morning
There was an usborne hun doing a book “fundraiser” for the survivors of the last school shooting. I was livid.
That is horrible. I will never understand how someone could use such a horrific situation to promote their scam.
🤬🤬🤬
I wonder if we can find these books at thrift stores. Probably against policy for them to donate them tho 🙄
Yay one of my stories made it on to your channel! I'm so sick of getting roped into usborne events.
I’m soooo dead off 15:06 😂😂😂😂 I’ve gotten a bunch of massages and that visual was hilarious 😂😂😂
I'm currently watching this on the TV with my cats in the room and they're so confused about the meows 🤣 They are searching for your cats 😂
Chapter Chatty Kitty: 20:06
Chapter Chatty Kitty II: 20:50
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love Zeke ! You should put his moments in your chapters lol, for those of us who rewind multiple times to hear him ❤
I didn't know Cutco was an MLM! I got a free knife from them at Costco once, and it literally fell apart the first time I used it. Not very good advertising. LOL
I love watching this girls channel grow slowly!! I love it!!
I love it when you talk to your cats and they answer you. They are very smart! 🐱
Love listning and learning about MLM. Also, I love the Kitty-attack. Heck I´m a crazy catlady *LOL*
I always get excited when I see you upload, these videos are my favorite!! The longer the better.
Hannah I ABSOLUTELY love your channel. Your voice is so soothing and reassuring. I love to hear the stories, your explanations and insight. You're doing a wonderful service for anti MLM.
(I'll sometimes listen to playlists as a way to fall asleep. It's a good thing, it makes me feel like a close friend (I have none) or family (also none except my own kids) is speaking to me and just makes me feel happy and is calming in a way that just helps me rest.)
Whenever your cat is vocal, I think it's my cat, their voices are very similar. But when your kitty WENT OFF, I knew (hoped) it wasn't mine LOL.
Hearing your cat makes me so happy 💛
I’m reading a book called Cultish by Amanda Montell and she has a section on MLM and the whole time your videos are going through my head.
(It’s a book that discusses how language is used in these cultish organizations and they suck well meaning people. Totally recommend!)
Perfect timing, needed something to get me through the end of my work day 😂
The baby steps thing is the definition of coercion!
You reminded me of something I say to my cats all the time.
Your feelings are valid, even if the reason is wrong/incorrect.
I totally agree with Zeke. People shudn't starve!
I love you Hannah. Thank you for what you do. It's so important people educate themselves.
Zeke's insights are REALLY appreciated!!
Zeke brought an excellent point to the conversation. 🥰
He always does - he is so passionate about being anti-MLM 😸😸
Hey @HannahAlonzo I just watched Young Sheldon Season 5 episode 12 and it’s about Sheldon’s mom unwittingly joining Mary Kay!
She uses faith manipulation to sell to her bible study group and is tormented by her conscience for doing so!
It’s a great episode on how the MLM model
Is predatory!
20:08 your “talking” cat reminds me of my cat. Mine was so opinionated! Lol 😻
I feel like that first story description of joining an MLM is similar to most people’s experience. It’s almost like the shape of the “bell curve” of joining an MLM 😅
Or...a pyramid
Hi Hannah thank you for your videos. My local mall is going down hill and now they have Saturday market place where small businesses go set up tables to sell things and Mary Kay lady wanted to get my attention as I was walking by and I said “no thank you not interested but thank you” as kept walking away. Thanks to your videos lol
i LOVE getting to work and seeing you posted 9 minutes ago. your videos are my go to videos to play while doing literally any task
I’ve never heard of Usborne! Do you plan on doing a deep dive on them? Also, as someone who has a degree in primary education, how do you feel about the actual books? Love your vids!
I like the books I've seen from them but I don't buy them since it's MLM.
They’re actually pretty decent books. You can sometimes find them in thrift stores. I saw a couple at an aquarium gift shop. I would recommend them if they weren’t an MLM.
Until I discovered your very educational and entertaining material, I did not know that Usborne and Avon were MLMs. Crazy!
When a cat knows you need to eat more than the MLM plan provides...you might be in a pyramid starvation scheme.
No chance of putting a cat on a starvation diet in my house 😸😸
Oh your sweet kitty adding to the conversation....🐈🥰
Optavia also makes count your seasonings you put on your food such as salt, pepper and garlic powder. It's crazy
Sooooo disordered!
Every time I hear Optavia said correctly, I sing it like the little Activia jingle.
Me too! 😂
Your cats are so cute. I love seeing them and listening to them talking to you. ❤🐈🐈⬛
The vocal kitty made my day. 😻
One of my favorite parts of TH-cam videos is the cats who try to steal the show
Every time Zeke says anything or hops up in the way of the camera, I just hear him saying, “that’s what you get for even questioning whether or not to bring me home.” 😂
I just found your channel yesterday and I'm HOOKED 💕
Yayyyy your read my story in this one! The rank buying one. Thanks for your kind words 💗
Usborne books or whatever are crazy people sometimes. I had a lady harrass me for 6 plus months. I had to block her.
Shame on the MLMs for preying on him.
i love watching your videos but i am LIVING for those kittie sounds
My Cutco story was about 30 years ago. Just out of high school and no internet I didn't know better. Saw an ad in the paper and called. Showed for the interview and of course everyone there was hired. I went to 2 meetings and after they showed how to make their knifes look sharper than they were (using a piece of rope and slacking it so their marks knife won't cut and holding it tight when they use Cutco so of course it quickly cuts thru) and unfortunately 75 bucks later I noped out.
Came for the anti mlm content. Stayed for the cutest meows 😻
Hi Hannah. Just want to say I love your videos. I have started watching all of your anti mlm content and am obsessed. Was just wondering if you'd heard of Farmasi? I just found it yesterday from a Facebook friend who works for them and was just wondering if you planned on doing a deep dive into them. Hope you're well and give the fur babies all my love 🥰
I kept think either my teen was calling me or my landlady's toddler (upstairs from me) was calling her. Then I remembered your adorable kitty. At one point it sounded for all the world like he said "mom". 😻😸
