MASSIVE respect to the person opening up about being scammed. It takes a big man to make himself vulunerable like that and in my opinion, it speaks a lot more about the kind of man he is than him getting scammed in the first place. Millions of people get scammed, but only a few could admit it to themselves and the public for the sake of helping others steer clear from this.
Indeed! Its never that the business model is bullshit. Its never that the method itself is bullshit. Its never that the guru made money selling bullshit. Its always about you just not working hard enough, not positive enough, not willing enough
Worst part about these schemes is that victims usually stay quiet because of embarrassment, but they need to speak up about their experience to warn others.
so called vicims were never cut out to be anything in the first place. if they had what it takes then they'd try something WITHOUT paying thousands of dollars to someone to hold their hands. thats what guru courses are. "victims" need someone to hold their holds even tho chances are they will never take enough action to make any changes.
@@ebayseller6040 Yes, but gurus shouldn't try to silence the truth by threatening to sue their clients for speaking up. It depends... I've paid $1200 for a Neil Patel marketing course (Which didn't pay off) yet doing a udemy a $50 course on NodeJS or ReactJS or product management has paid infinitely off more for me in the end. That said, I've also paid 6k for a AI / Data Science Bootcamp. Everything has a cost / benefit to it and you just have to weigh things carefully. Prior to the data science bootcamp I had not paid anything close to that much for anything but 1) I was already a developer and entrepreneur at that point (So I could get a job fairly easily compared to others who would've just taken the course by itself) 2) It was and is a burgeoning industry 3) It would have and did immediately increase my capacity to earn more money in the short term and finally 4) I had chosen my next startup to be AI related. And a year later here I am with a VC backed AI startup.
It's sad that a lot of these scammers move onto other countries that aren't aware of their reputation to continue their scams. I have a brother that is trapped inside this kind of cults. I've tried several times helping him out but most of the times i felt powerless. The most disturbing thing about this is not the money wasted buying those courses, but the mental scar that those toxic comunities leave and the psychological consequences. Now my brother has no friends, he is 24/7 in his room following those courses and he lost touch with everyone, family included, he spent lots of money chasing the "6 figures skill" . I moved to another city and he completely deleted me, in more than 3 years i have no communication with him because those cults promote isolation in order to better control and brainwash you, and if you disagree with those cults' principles you are a negative person that has to be isolated, the same happened to my brother: he isolated me because i was a negative person that was trying to block his path towards success. And the saddest thing is that is not his fault, but is how the game was meant to be. They took advantage of a good, intelligent, determined and pure person like him. Those cults are no different from Jonestown, but instead of god there is money and the lead principle is chasing cash and luxury.

While I'm not defending these MLMs, fact is most of us don't have the gift of gab or know how to sell and don't want to bother their family and/or friends who mostly ridicule them anyway, and as a result, shy away from such 'opportunities' as they so gracefully refer to it as. Corporate America is itself a widespread pyramid structure.
Garrett shows more strength and intelligence than 99% people. Everyone is susceptible to cults especially at moments of vulnerability. Surviving a cult and raising awareness about it, that's more admirable than never having being in one.

Regardless of how Garrett is as a partner, "it's just one bad decision" is a bad justification. Domestic violence can also be just one bad decision, but you can bet ur @ss I'd be telling Garrett to run if his wife hit him 'just once', especially since I believe close to half of people who are victims of domestic violence end up dead within one year due to a murder or murder-suicide by their partner or former partner (fun fact, 72% of murder-suicides are of partners or former partners in domestic violence situations). Safety, whether it be emotional safety or physical safety, isn't something to mess around with. I agree that she should have left him, 30k behind her back is a huge deal and he broke her trust in a huge way, even if he meant well. If they're able to build back up that trust slowly then I could see them eventually getting back together, but it takes a lot and a long time to trust someone who broke your trust in such a huge way, and that's assuming she'd want to get back together with him and not just cut her losses. I'd say the same if she went behind his back and spent 30k.

Steps to become a Guru: 1. Scrap together multiple catchy motivational phrases about working hard and avoiding procrastination (similar to what your father used to tell you as a kid and you ignored). -> 2. Add some basic tips on whatever it is you are promoting (and which you can probably find on the internet or a book for free). -> 3. Add a 2k price tag to it. -> 4. Get 100 people to quit their jobs and commit fully to it -> 5. 95 fail, 5 succeed (a rate anyone could have without being a guru). -> 6. Convince the 95 that failed that it was their fault and the 5 that succeeded that it was your doing (Actually done before the success/failure step) -> 7. Get the testimonials of the 5 that succeeded so that you can convince another 100 to get in the game -> 8. Repeat steps 5-8. This shit is typical MLM stuff...Copy pasted the speeches and gatherings of companies like herbalife into their own context..

Violet Arashi nobody ever got rich by working hard. You must utilize your intelligence to see opportunities and THEN work hard to make it become successful.
Mike Lang you cannot ethnically become a billionaire without ceasing the opportunity to exploit people for your own gain , on some level. Jeff bezos? look at how amazon treats their employees especially now during the pandemic to continue making profit. A human being cannot ethically become a billionaire by “ ideas” and “ hard work” but by strategic exploitation of workers. you need workers to be that rich and you need to under pay them to get there.
Violet Arashi who needs to be a billionaire? Depends on if you include people that want to make money from the ideas and system you create as exploitation, it’s a two way street. Workers “exploit” the system and ideas to earn a wage without having to think up or build anything themselves. The creator “exploits” the worker(s) by making a profit in their use of the idea and system which likely is regulated by government, requires another team too market, others to sell, others for inventory, managing all the parts and pieces of the “machine”, etc. So doesn’t “ethically “ depend on if the exploitation is mutually beneficial or if there is an undue burden imposed on one or the other. Look up the TH-cam video with Ayn Rand discussing why True Altruism is Evil.
Mike Lang since when is working to survive and provide for one’s family exploitation? dont try to mold the meaning of exploitation to make working just to survive in a corrupt system and using the system to underpay people/put their life at risk just to afford another yacht the same thing. it’s not.

If your parents said studying would make you rich, they lied, but they're not scammers, they're not taking your money from you (but it is statistically proven that studying habits lead to higher chances of business/financial/education success so it's not a bad thing to preach, even Dan would agree with that). But colleges do make you earn your degree with class credits. HTC's homework point system is meaningless to graduating, I would know, I was an AG leader. If students didn't do a single homework assignment, they'd still get a certificate and be "certified". And yes, knowledge is power, and Dan promised me the knowledge to earn 5-6 figures with this "high-income skill." That didn't happen, so it was just me, right?? I don't know a single person who went from zero experience to being a 6-figure earner (not 6-figure in sales). That knowledge you're chasing, he's only giving you a fraction of it. If you want the full truth, you need to join Inner Circle, then HTM, then get hired onto his sales team, and then be on Team Dan Lok, and only then will you know his full knowledge, but by then you would've burned through your money, your relationships, and your reputation. But you know something? That matrix Dan talks about? Ever since leaving HTC behind, my mind has never been more clear, my relationships more stable, and now it's clear to me: HTC WAS the matrix, and Dan was the machine sucking away your time and energy to fuel his machine. And now, Commander, when you leave this comment section, you have no where else to go but back down into that Matrix, back down into that rabbit hole with the others. You're gonna feel super inspired to get back to practicing your roleplays and then you're going to do your best to make HTC work for you and you'll eventually work with an influencer and be excited. Weeks will go by and whenever you do get a sales call, you'll find out that your HTC skills were useless. You'll try to improve, and likely fail again. You'll search for ways to improve yourself like buying Dan Lok's HIC program or his TubeYourOwnHorn course and think it'll give you that "missing piece." And then you'll go back to your sales calls, only to fail again. You'll blame yourself, you'll feel like you shamed Dan Lok and the HTC brand, and then you'll vanish away, just like the other HTC brothers and sisters I worked alongside with... But I pray it all works out for you, and I invite you to revisit this page and laugh at me if it does. So go on now, get back to focusing on closing so you can prove me wrong. Meanwhile, I'll be moving on and no longer have the weight of HTC or Dan Lok holding me down any further. : ) Seriously, take care. You'll be in my prayers.
Dan paid me $2000 to make an entire course for him haha, since my NDA has expired I could expose him. I only sat in front of my computer for 7 hours to draw something up, it was only until it was completed that I figured out who my client actually was. I originally thought it was for a high school sales class.
The biggest slap in the face unexpectedly comes from TH-cam giving me a self help guru ads with a balding guy in sportswear telling me how I can make 5000 dollars an hour sitting on my couch.

I have a brother that is trapped inside this kind of cults. I've tried several times helping him out but most of the times i felt powerless.

Yup. That's just how I was brought up by my parents. I mean, in the business world, you don't go around teach other people how to be like you and potentially become your biggest competition. Haha.
Rich people CAN teach you how to become wealthy. That's not what's going on here. Think Napoleon Hill! Did Carnegie charge for his wisdom? Hmmm 🙄. I've started my own dream home business: child day care. I have two client's. Blissfully leaving the guru trail!!!!!
Even if real people taught you exactly how to be rich? Most people wouldent make the necessary sacrifices or put in the hard work anyway.
People want success but they wanna skip the hard part haha, sad truth is it's the "hard part" that ensures success is never taken from you because even if you lost everything you could start over 😋

To learn to sell and close, get a non-commission retail job, especially in apparel. Then act as if it is a commission sales job. I worked at an apparel store while in college and did just that. I was getting paid to train myself in sales and closing. I did not go in to sales, but the “training” and experience has served me well in life and business ever since.
Yeah retail sucks ass but it does teach you a lot of skills if you actually try to close deals.

I remember in one of the lessons of HTC Dan mentioned something along the lines of "If someone pays a ton of money for a high ticket product, they have a lot of emotions attached to it and they themselves will try to defend or justify it regardless of the value that the product brings in." Which is why there are so many people out there who are not making money after joining HTC, but still try to justify it by saying that it changed their mindset and what not when they know good and well that they indeed did get scammed.

“ Any one can just become rich, just stop being lazy, pull yourself by your bootstraps and work your ass off” - guy living paycheck to paycheck buying into this bull
There is some truth but there is so much more to it. The answer is _______
Violet Arashi nobody ever got rich by working hard.
Mike Lang since when is working to survive and provide for one’s family exploitation? dont try to mold the meaning of exploitation to make working just to survive in a corrupt system and using the system to underpay people/put their life at risk just to afford another yacht the same thing. it’s not.

@@attorneyinvestor3941 Brother, I've been in your shoes. I spat those same lines at my family when they questioned HTC and Dan Lok. Their comments irked me and challenged my reality and I did my best to prove them wrong. Obviously, my interview and comments have left cracks in your reality, or else you'd be following Dan's advice and focusing on closing and not wasting time typing out TH-cam comments.
Well let me answer your questions first: If a student called me a scammer because he failed in life because of my English II class I'd call him an idiot. Now if I had charged him $2500 and said it would make his life better, then yes, I'd admit, it was a scam.
As for your professors and parents argument: yes, if your professors promised you that their classes would make you money and your life better then yes, they're scammers.
Seriously, take care. You'll be in my prayers.
Dan paid me $2000 to make an entire course for him haha, since my NDA has expired I could expose him.
