Hi Pete, great video and a very good comparison for the choice of guns, both laid the basecoat really nice with a good silky smooth finish👌 Oh the door bell rang just this second and my PRD-717 has arrived so I had to stop typing and unpack it😁lovely looking gun mate I think I prefer the blue to the brown colour but it doesn't change the way it sprays😎the pps adaptor I got for it fits a treat☺ Anyway where was I, I thought the fan pattern looked a bit bigger on the Porphis and it looked a bit wetter as well but you can't deny that the Sagola is a great gun and maybe one day I will own a full size version, I would like to see the same two guns used together for clearcoat mate I recon they would put out a similar finish🤔thanks Pete👍
Hi John, I think it's a bit difficult to judge the pattern with basecoat, as the one that went first is going to have evaporated somewhat, so may look dryer, both good guns but the Porphis uses less air and cap go to a full size if needed. So, your PRD717 finally arrived 😁, did you go for the 1.4 or 1.3 ?
Yeah you are right mate it probably has evaporated so it's hard to tell, I would still like to get a 4600 one of these days I think a used one would be better for me as there are some more guns I want to get🤦♂😂 Yes mate it didn't take long to get here so very happy with the service so far, I got the 1.3 as I thought that would be a good size to start of with, I have a couple of questions about the gun mate just to save me some searching and testing, I'll message you later if that's ok, obviously your usual consultancy prices is not a problem💰😂cheers mate👍
Great comparison, mate! I think the Porphis is a good deal when compared to the Sagola given the price and quality. As for customer service, I am not sure about Porphis, but it’s quite disappointing to hear your feedback about the customer service from Sagola.
Hi Mate, I've had 3 people contact me about Porphis and their customer services. If people have a problem, they often contact me 🫣, not sure why, but they do. Any problems have been dealt with swiftly and admirably, so I can't see there being a problem. Sagola, on the other hand, hasn't been so good, again, a few people that contact me as well as myself, who have had problems with their new Sagolas have found the response sadly lacking, I'm pretty sure that it's to do with there UK owners as the customer services weren't as bad some years ago, cheers mate, thanks for watching 👍
@@peteshobbies5383 Perhaps they thought you are knowledgeable about Porphis and got more spray guns than Spraygunsdirect . Anyway, appreciate for your video as always!😊
@@peteshobbies5383 Only a bit Pete. Finished the aamrt repair on my son's car, using LPH80 for base (love that gun) and the Meiji for clear then started getting the bumper cover ready but had to quit because of back pain. Sucks.
@kenc4104 That's not so good, mate. I have an idea of what you're going through. It's so frustrating being held back by our ageing bodies. As you say, it sucks 😕
I have a DV1S 0.7mm/0.9mm i use for cerakote that came with M1 Micro Cap. The M1 didn't open wide enough for me so I bought both the S1 and S2 air caps as well. The S1 has the widest pattern, and the S2 is in between the two in width. Its an ok gun but by far the best mini I have ever used for both Cerakote and spot repair was the Walcom Ego190 HTE. No other mini in my experience atomized finer or did such and awsome job. Especially with the 0.8mm For cerakote which I also had 1.0 and 1.2mm cap, needle, nozzle sets for. Problem is the gun lasted only 15 months before leaking air and a rebuild kit wouldn't fix it either. I was pissed because the gun and those extral cap sets came out to about $750 total. Though the gun was used hard sometimes 7 days a week for my cerakote/custom benchrifle stock painting business, but was always cleaned and taken care of.
Hi Mate, That's a good question, there is no doubt they are better, as in give better results and the PRD services is better made for sure. The PHS155 is not as well made as the PRD guns but it's still better made than the FLG5
Hello and thank you for all your videos I come to you first always if I'm looking to buy a spray gun and you help me most of the time my question is where can I find the adapters that you use on your guns convert them to a 125 CC cup like you're using I want to find the adapters I have 15 different guns please help
Hi Pete. Im expecting my ANI compact 1.3 anyday from SprayGunsDirect. How does it compare to these? I know that they use more pressure. How do they compare in speed, air consumption, overspray, and versatility?
Hi Mate, The ANI Compact in 1.3 is faster than these, mainly because it's a 1.3, these are both 1.0. These are better made than the ANI but are more expensive, over twice the price in the case of the Sagola, it's difficult to compare really as they are so different. The beauty of the Porphis is that it can be made into a full-size gun with a 1.3 or 1.4 tip set, air consumption, as I said in the video I think, the Sagola uses more than any mini I know of, the Porphis in this setup uses the least including the ANI.

@benjaminchu6699 Yeah, I actually get quite a few that have gun problems, which we can normally get to the bottom of. Cheers, Ben 👍
Pete, how about a DV1S S1 vs S2 comparison? BTW, I have used my Meiji R for base and clear now and am very happy with the results.
Hi Ken, Yes, I have done a video. It just needs editing and vocals, etc,
I take it the back has eased up a little?
