Just seen the video. Every call you made with the bike was the correct call. I can remember when I was young watching my uncle kick and kick and kick this bike to get it started. Now I just do 3 priming kick and one or two good kicks after and it starts every time. So yes it was the right call to change over carbs. When it comes to the tires and rims I am 100 percent for changing them out. Every decision and upgrade was what this bike needed. This is why I sent this bike to you and can sleep well at night knowing it was done right.
Thank you very much for doing these videos. I’m sure it isn’t easy. I respect your knowledge and skill and I love learning as much as possible about these bikes. About the Tillotson carburetor, I agree with you that the Bendix is a the way to go. It simple, functional and easy to adjust. Also, 1966 was the first year Harley used Tillotsons. Every year until 1971, they made improvements. HD 1 became HD 1B, then C, finally D. But if your customer isn’t a Tillotson dope like me, you made the right call! I always look forward to more of your videos, thanks again!

I had a Sportster with an "Andrews" Tillitson and changed it as soon as possible, horrible Carb...
I'm a pre-70 Sportster XLCH nut, but I like them all. Thanks for sharing you knowledge and experience ..
Thanks for watching!
My 69 XLCH came with alloy rims and the rear tire had sheet metal screws thru the rim and into the bead.
You called the Tillotson kind of finicky....
Isn't that like calling water kinda wet ?? 😂
Great Vidio..
