The baby was too young to verbally Express what was happening the mother seen the babies private area was irritated took her to the hospital and the hospital report said she had a tear inside her private area. He prayed on his little baby who couldn't talk properly he's a dirty asshole and the mother protected her baby
she’s always had her suspicions, you can tell. not okay for her to lie and make it up but she’s definitely had to have a feeling. i feel like she saw her child’s area swollen than tried to piece it together on her own. very sad no matter what
Yeah, I watched an old show where the mother was guilty of making the story up because she "assumed" the details of her daughter being molested by the uncle based on things the daughter had told her. She passed every question but that one and he obviously failed.
It sounds like a case of getting some details, and prior knowledge led her to making up the rest of what happened in her head.

I would have done the same if my child’s area was swollen. And she got her tested etc as well. Dna hasn’t come back like mom said. But now she knows fully. She had suspicions on either grandpa or dad. You could see her heart shatter right on stage when it came back that her child’s father did this. I hope the little one is okay and the mom and daughter are safe and far from this family. Cause it seems grandpa wants to protect that disgusting piece of trash son. I'm going to assume it's because of denial and shock, you wouldn't want to believe your child (or anyone you love) was capable of something so terrible, so finding out they are would send your world crashing down. It's essentially fight, flight or freeze: some would launch themselves across the room without a second thought, others would be utterly stunned, others would refuse to believe it was true.
What he chooses to do after the truth sinks in, however, will be a true testament of his character.

In my opinion I believe she could have lied because she knew something was wrong "mother's intuition" as they say. She might not have necessarily coached her daughter to say it, but may have had a lot of talks with her about it, and maybe she remembers the incident with her daughter saying something different to how it actually happened. She'll also likely be pretty stressed out.
That's just my opinion though, I'm definitely not a professional, and I hope he goes away for a very long time.

This story seems complicated but it actually makes a lot of sense. She made it up probably to get away from him and get Custody of the child and used his past allegations against him, but he most likely did abuse that child in the past and abused this one too but it flew under the radar until the mother made this false story. It just happened to be that what she made up was the truth. It’s Kind of obvious that she made it up when she asked “did you do it” after the results were read the way she said it was SUPER SUSPICIOUS. She thought he was gonna pass because she made the story up. She wasn’t actually prepared for it to be true and the way she asked that question and looked at Steve proved that.

I’m sure they did, they just didn’t have Steve read it on stage. They ask a lot of stuff during the interview that they don’t say on stage, sometimes because it’s too graphic but more often it’s because they’re trying to keep the episode concise.

This was a weird lie detector test. She failed for coaching but he failed for molesting. So here's my thoughts on why I think the test failed her. I think Tesla had suspicions that something abusive was happening to her daughter. She may have even discovered physical evidence of it on her child before but brushed it off until the day came when she couldn't give him the benefit of the doubt anymore. I do believe the child said to her "Mommy I hurt" but didn't say who until she asked "Did daddy hurt you?" and got a "yes", a nod or hesitation in saying who so the child just didn't say anything. A mother or any good parent can read their child's body language, facial expression, their eyes to see the truth especially with a very young child. I think that's why she failed that question.
I don't know why she failed about the child being shaken violently. I wanna believe that maybe she did hear her scream but assumed the granddad was abusing her too. Honestly, the granddad gives me those vibes. He isn't even trying to beat up his son like he said he would.

@Nancy Torgie I agree with you I do...but at the same time any lawyer whether he or she is a first year, second year or highly qualified can grill her on the stand in court. And it depends on what state they are from, each state convicts differently for cases like this. Like here in Massachusetts he would get around 28 1/2 to 30 years the most in prison.
And she needs a restraining order to never go near her daughter for coaching her even though she was abused by her father.

Personal opinion/perspective here: I think the mother saw signs, but the child said very little. If I remember the "fathers" tangent correct the child was 2 at the time, from my experience with 2 year olds they don't just speak in gibberish; its a mix between English and gibberish. (At least my nieces and nephews where speaking a little English with baby gibberish.) I only think this because the "father" of the child came out saying 1 the child was lying and 2 you can't understand what a child says; like bro was the "father" of the kid and basically said his child was lying and is slow/stupid; any parents knows you can in fact understand your child if they don't speak "properly" to you. Then yet I am always on guard of people that say a child is lying; yes they have the ability to lie, what they lack the ability to do is lie about details. Yeah mom made up a story, but little one was not lying. I am skeptical of when children tell me things, what I will never do is insinuate they are lying. Similar situation here: my first boyfriend - I told him that someone told me that he was cheating on me with a specific girl. I lied - I just had a feeling. Nobody told me that. Mothers have maternal instincts which can set off red alarms.
Yes, she made up a story but if she came out with baseless accusations then no one would believe her. Should she have lied? Absolutely not, but she was able to piece everything together and get her daughter justice in the end.

I’ve never seen an episode like this before! This one has me shocked! The mom MADE UP a story about the father assaulting his daughter BUT the father actually did it!? They both deserve the worst punishment possible! I feel bad for that child. I hope one day that child can find love somewhere.
i think the mother already had suspicions and just tried to peice it together. even if the child didnt say anything, her private areas were still swollen and he failed with a -13. i dont think she shouldve said that the daughter actually voiced it but i do think that as her mother there was some type of unsettling feeling for her to do this. neither of them are in the right. im just glad that baby had justice.
I think she had the intuition that he did something and there was clearly evidence bc the daughter had a kit done and her privates were injured. Maybe Tesla was telling the truth in a way. I dunno, I mean yeah she lied. But her daughter probably DID tell her Mom what Josh did in her own way. Kids can and have the ability to tell their parents what happened in their own way, even if they were mute or something else.
Yeah, I watched an episode from years ago where a similar thing happened. The daughter told her certain things and then the mother assumed even more happened which she ran with.
She knew something was wrong. She didn’t lie about the molestation. What she lied about was whether or not the daughter said it. She literally took her to the hospital so she clearly knew that it DID happen. I think she made up the story about him shaking her bc it would give her a basis to get child protective services involved. She could legally limit the child’s contact with him. I think that was the point of all that. She can do more to protect her child if she says the child told her of the abuse and if she saw it. Now I wish Steve had asked this but since he did harm his child at his dad’s house, I have a feeling the dad allowed or even encouraged it. Cause notice how in the beginning he was like “I’d kick his ass myself if he did that” but the moment the son fails the test, the dad is super defensive. He never actually meant that and it really sounded like he’s known something all along

In my honest opinion, Tesla SHOULD get all custody of her daughter and DEFINITELY should take these two to court! Sue them for child endangerment, child/sexual abuse and encouraging/ignoring the abuse (On the Father's part).
What these two are doing, they shouldn't get a couple months in prison, they should get a LONGER sentence!

So apparently, she coached her daughter to "lie", but turns out it was actually true. The mother definitely had suspicions beforehand, but she didn't know how to execute that. It's sad as hell ..
When Steve read ol girls results second, I was like, ohhh, there's about to be a twist to this!! He always reads the most shocking last, or the one who fails. When she failed her test and pervy boy still had yet to hear his, I KNEW it was about to go down! I think mom made up the part about her daughter saying hurt hurt, but she took her daughter to the hospital for a reason, and they started an investigation for a reason. Mom may have lied, but she was still suspecting something and did what she needed to do. She still doesn't seem real bright though. I really hope dude goes to prison! Molesting any child is horrendous enough, to do it to your own, there is no worse evil.

I honestly feel bad for the grandad in this situation. You can tell on his face he’s shocked by the results and doesn’t want to believe him. Yet deep down you can see the hesitation on when he defends his son as he knows he raised a monster.
When he didn’t react this his baby mama lying on him, I knew he would fail. What a creep!
I was waiting for grandpa to go off on dad when the truth came out. I was appalled when he didn’t.
She lied because she knew what really happened but knew her daughter couldn’t communicate it. She did right by going with her gut.
