"Don't worry about damaging vehicle" - Gotta love it. Got 10 minutes into removing this and with slight prying the thing broke in a big crack at the bottom.
it is not necessary to remove the rear panel to access the bulb, simply remove the front lens cover using a small flat head screwdriver and with a pair of needle nose pliers remove the bulb
I'm going to try to replace the bulbs to led in my truck, I have another model but this video was a perfect guide for me. Thank you so much! I will visit the websites today :)
Thank you for reaching out! The 2 lights in the map receptacle closer to the nose of the vehicle are factory LED, which you cannot replace as they are soldered to a chip and board.
I want to do all these lights on my 2017 jeep Cherokee. It’s not a grand though, will they still fit???? I can’t find a TH-cam video on my car doing this smh
Dunno if anyone cares but if you guys are stoned like me atm you can watch all of the latest movies and series on instaflixxer. I've been watching with my gf during the lockdown :)
When i install the rear dome lights (2:49) lights do not turn on. If i re-insert the oem bulb it seems loose and only stays on while i push the button. Is there a trick to inserting bulb?
We have never heard of an issue like this before. Did you purchase from PLED? Would you be able to send us over a photo for reference? You can reach us at help@precisionled.com
I noticed you didn't change the front bulbs in the center. Can they be changed? I have a 2017 grand Cherokee and those appear to be the same type in my rear passenger area.
The dome lights have an additional 2 smaller lights referred to as the map lights. Are the map lights included in the kit? If so, this kit will replace every bulb in the car with an LED bulb correct?
Hi MIke, the Jeep Grand Cherokee uses factory installed LEDs for the front map lights so they are not included in the kit since you cant really upgrade them. The LEDs that are included in this kit are every bulb that can be converted to LED.If you have additional questions, open a support ticket at www(dot)precisionled(dot)com/contact and a tech can help you out. Cheers, -PLED Team
These are not led, do not come out and are ugly yellow. Once you install all bright white leds these two give yellowish tint and look odd. Eventually i may just break them because they do look stupid when on with all other lights being white. Why jeep , why ?j$&@/!?!?!?
+Mike Winschuh Actually they can be upgraded, I have pics to install. DOES require cutting the harness and soldering but its not hard at all. probably a 20 min. job. LED's to use are just sm 50/50
Typically, we already have the bulb installed on a single side of the vehicle. In which case, you can see a side by side comparison with the halogen as you watch the video. Please, reference 0:23 of the video for an example.
Think about buying this but I want it to appear "stock" that being said, is the brightness of the bulbs similar to the stock ones? I don't want it to light up like a Christmas tree.
Our LEDs have 2 different levels of brightness. The new Premium 5730SMD LED bulbs are the next generation of new LEDs. Compared to the older 5050SMDs, these LEDs have 3 times the light output per LED. The 5730 LED chip is designed for maximum light output while the aluminum housing helps to dissipate heat effectively for the longevity of the bulb. The new 5730SMD LEDs have a Constant Current Circuit design which helps maintain brightness if the voltage fluctuates within the circuit and has voltage surge protection up to 18V. Please note, most people would prefer to upgrade to LEDs for the extra brightness.
Hi Robert, These are the 6000K bulb type used in the video. Check us out on facebook and view our Photo Gallery to get an idea of all the colors we offer. facebook(dot)com/precisionled Cheers, -PLED Team
There are 2 light bulbs that looks to be incrusted and cannot be removed with pliers. Are they different kind of bulbs ? because I want to put LED there too :)
Thank you for your interest. The reading lights you are referring to are stock LED, which you cannot replace, as they are soldiered to a chip and board.
Thank you for your interest. Yes, we will keep an eye our for a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee out here in Los Angeles for an updated video. However, the rear passenger lights should be very similar to the other bulbs in your vehicle, as all of the lights are very easy to access with our trim tool kit.
You should be able to access the dome lights exactly like the rest of the lights in your vehicle. The casing is very easy to remove the our trim tool kit, which comes complimentary with all of our interior LED packages.
The 2 lights in the map receptacle closer to the nose of the vehicle are factory LED, which you cannot replace as they are soldered to a chip and board.
When a bulb is difficult to remove, the easiest method would be to use some tape to wrap around the stuck bulb, and bull to remove. You can find a video tutorial of this method here: www.realsimple.com/home-organizing/home-improvement/remove-stuck-light-bulb
EXCELLENT VIDEO!!! Thank you! I need to replace the lights of the gear selector in my Jeep Grand Cherokee LTD 2002 (8 cyl - 4700cc) 1000000000000 of thanks
Would you be able to send us over a photo for reference? This would better help to figure out how to replace. You can email us at help@precisionled.com.
How do you replace the 2 rear circular passenger dome lights in 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited. Have replaced all other with led but stuck with these two. Has anyone found out how to change those?
The installation process would be virtually identical as shown in the video. The installation process is almost the same for all vehicles. I would recommend having a watch on some of our other DIY installations as well, and you will gain a general knowledge of how LEDs are installed.
Thank you for your interest. Yes, I have linked our Grand Cherokee page below. All products listed are compatible with your 2014. www.precisionled.com/shop-by-vehicle/jeep.html?cat=818
+Yemil O Keep in mind its super hard to tell the difference on camera. a white balance could really effect things. Go to home depot and look at the example bulbs they have for temperature. Then get the kit
+Jessica Markel I think u are referring to the factory LED Map lights. I don't think it can be changed. I'm still looking into it though. I plan to find a way to disable the front map lights in the mean time
+Jessica Markel i was able to remove the entire console and take it apart. It was quite simple. I disconnected the map lights, leaving only the two main lights operable for use especially when doors are opened for entry/exit.
Swapping the glove box light should be the same as the other lights shown in the video. All of the lights in the vehicle are easily accessible with our tool set, which comes complimentary when purchasing the package linked in the description.
Wish they would make these in a little bit softer white. The harsh white should not go on the inside of a vehicle... and most have a blueish tint. hideous
We actually do carry a softer white color, which would be the 6000K crystal white. If you are concerned with the brightness, you can always install our Standard line LEDs, which would be half as bright as the Premiums.
"Don't worry about damaging vehicle" - Gotta love it. Got 10 minutes into removing this and with slight prying the thing broke in a big crack at the bottom.
Thank you so much for the tape idea on the license plate bulbs...i have fat fingers and that was a life saver
Thank you guys for the detailed videos. This is the reason I bought kits for all of my vehicles from you guys FYI!
Thank you for tuning in and for choosing PrecisionLED!
it is not necessary to remove the rear panel to access the bulb, simply remove the front lens cover using a small flat head screwdriver and with a pair of needle nose pliers remove the bulb
My96XJ wish I'd know that before I broke the tab on the bulb holder. Smh. Now to the dealership and the salvage yard to find a replacement
Please explain in a video. Thanks for the observation
Thanks M96XJ. I was a second away from ripping my panel off. I just popped my lens cover off and......
Thanks for the advice!
You might still have to remove it to hold the back side of the bulb holder to put the lens back on.
I'm going to try to replace the bulbs to led in my truck, I have another model but this video was a perfect guide for me. Thank you so much! I will visit the websites today :)

How about the 2 overhead light assemblies for the Durango?
Thank you for reaching out! The 2 lights in the map receptacle closer to the nose of the vehicle are factory LED, which you cannot replace as they are soldered to a chip and board.
Old vid but still extremely helpful. The lift gate is a bitch to get back on without breaking a couple clips. Luckily had a few in my toolbox.
I want to do all these lights on my 2017 jeep Cherokee. It’s not a grand though, will they still fit???? I can’t find a TH-cam video on my car doing this smh

Hello question, my 2017 grand Cherokee dome light rear are different from this model how you replace it!
If you'd like, feel free to send over a picture of your rear dome light and we can make a suggestion. You can reach us at help@precisionled.com.
Are those the 6000k or 8000k? Planning to purchase the set for my Jeep. Thanks!

so is there a way to change the other lights right by the front dome lights. dodge Durango 2011
The lights you are referring to are stock LEDs, which are irreplaceable as they are soldiered to a chip and board.
It's much easier to just remove the whole assembly for the front dome lights. It all just pulls down.
+Joseph burgarino Thanks for the tips!
There are 2 light bulbs that looks to be incrusted and cannot be removed with pliers. Are they different kind of bulbs ? because I want to put LED there too :)
Yes, the bulbs in reference are stock LEDs. They are not easily replaceable, as they are mounted to a chip and board.
@@PrecisionLED So you’d go about replacing them how?.. If possible.
@precisionLED Does this kit work for a 2015 JGC limited?
+John Hunt Yes
The video didn't show how to replace the round map lights behind the lights he replaced. How are they removed?
The lights you are referring to are stock LED, which you cannot swap as they are soldered to a chip and board.
but what about the reading light ? it seems you didn't change it !
Thank you for your interest. The reading lights you are referring to are stock LED, which you cannot replace, as they are soldiered to a chip and board.
Are these LED lights fit with grand Cherokee 2015
Thank you for your interest. Yes, the package linked in the description is indeed compatible with your 2015 Grand Cherokee.
Can you make another video for a 2017 jeep grand Cherokee limited. The bulbs in the rear passenger area are different.
Those small passenger lights are soldered. No easy way to swap them out unless you want to solder in new LEDs. This is the case for 14+.
Good Job, Thanks
Thanks for watching!
Are LED lights for dome , map
glove box,trunk
have same (volt and Amper)
Thank you for your interest. Yes, we do have listed that the LEDs for the dome, map glove box and trunk all use the same T10 Canbus.
Is this kit compatible with 2006 grand cherokee?

I have a 2011 durango citadel... how do I change out the other lights in the dome compartment. they look like they are projection type
You should be able to access the dome lights exactly like the rest of the lights in your vehicle. The casing is very easy to remove the our trim tool kit, which comes complimentary with all of our interior LED packages.
I've changed out the bulbs already but the other is very different.. I will take a video or picture to show what I mean.
What’s the bulb size for the rear dome lights?
These are most likely stock LEDs, which are soldered to a chip and board.
How do you remove the (2) overhead assemblies in the 2012 Durango to access the bulb?
The 2 lights in the map receptacle closer to the nose of the vehicle are factory LED, which you cannot replace as they are soldered to a chip and board.
So I was trying to take out the bulbs from the dome and I ended up breaking one . Is there a way to remove the bulb??
