TRUE STORY: So at first Jonah Hill wanted to end the movie at that scene and just wanted to roll the credits but he realized how dark and disturbing if he finished it from there so he had to add the scene of him at the hospital after that
@@porkhill6665 for real brooo that was shit felt so fast that it felt real dawgg hearing the horn seeing the light and looking up all the same time within half a second mad it real asf
@@porkhill6665 the edits are masterful. We all see it coming but then it's kind of like the way roller coasters tease you with smaller jumps before the big one at the end. We keep thinking "OH SHIT here it is! Oh... nevermind... any second now..." and it just builds the tension that way and messes with you.
This emulates just how fast something like this can happen. You're sitting in the car, all you see is a flash of light, you blackout, wake up, and realize you've been in a car wreck.
Editor got it so spot on. This is what it actually feels like. Even after it happens you get PTSD and can't stop reliving that split second in your head over and over and over again. You have no control over it, it just keeps happening.
@Maurits i didn't watch the movie yet but he is still young, he maybe is more mature than the others but doesn't transform him in an adult, even adults make these kind of mistakes.
Cam Olson i think Ray was planning on asking fuckshit to drop them off anyways so he wanted everyone to get in the car so they can go home. and i think he let fuckshit drive either bc he’s not old enough or he felt bad for getting mad at fuckshit previously in front of the pros

ThatOneKidYouSeen I already knew the crash was in the movie so it scared me then I got relieved and was like “oh it was a fake spoiler” and was calm then got spooked by the real thing
Dontae Scisson thank you this is a very good betrayal I was 16 back in these days and I have lost so many friends to car accidents from drinking and driving this scene had me so upset I cried and cried especially when they’re trying to revive him good grief it hit a nerve
If the movie ended at 2:11 just on that shot of the car on its side with the horn blaring... *holy shit*. I do like the ending this movie has, gives it a more uplifting feel walking out of the theater but damn imagine the impact that would have not knowing who lives or who doesn’t.
They were so good at portraying this film to feel 90'sish that I actually believed it was filmed in the 90's before knowing when it was actually filmed. Props to Jonah and the cast and the rest of the crew.
It’s sad how the only person they were worried abt was Stevie bc they knew that they could’ve ended his life right then and there and they knew he was too young and had more to life than the one they were living
everyone was shocked, anyone would be, after crashing stevie was quiet so it probably had ray thinking he died or something so obviously hed be worried since ray was the most aware of the situation in the moment id think
That "why the fuck did we get in the car with him??!!" Is just so real if you've ever been in this situation. Being so young and dumb... Life isn't anything to play with but when you're young, you're so damn stupid you'll literally go against every instinct to fit in and not make waves or seem lame.
I’m not exactly sure but I’m pretty sure ray got in because he wanted to be their for fuckshit because fuckshit was their for ray after his brother died
As someone who’s been in a severe accident (except I was sober) with my girlfriend, I can confirm the editors portrayal of the PTSD that comes with it is 100% spot on. For a few months after the accident, occasionally I’d be driving or resting when like a flash, those few seconds of impact would instantaneously replay in my head. Scarily impressive work on their part!
I remember watching this and being so tense that fuckshit was going to drive drunk and the build up with the little moments where you think they will crash but dont was soooo intense it had me on edge
Scene hit me pretty hard I was at a party with my friends one night, plan was to crash there so friend drove us. We ended up getting kicked out cos one of my friends was flirting with the hosts GF. He kicked us out. We were all pretty hammered with the friend who drove us being the worst. Five of us got into his two seater van, 2 in front, 3 in back with no seat belts. Drove to another party. A moment at a crossing a car almost clocked the back of the van at a pretty quick speed. Thankfully it didn't but if it did. Who knows, could have being killed. No seat belts sitting in the back of a van. Probably the stupidest thing I ever did. Dont drink and drive, or ever let someone drunk drive you around.
Yeah it was more jarring tha scary for me, i thought i closed my eyes for a sec but maybe i was out for a couple more, the driver was able to leave the seat but i was still inside when i opened my eyes
When i first saw this scene in the movie, it haunted me to my core. I wanted to watch it again to see if it was just a first watch effect but it’s not. Still incredibly haunting, it makes my stomach turn.
I’ve been in a couple of car accidents with me behind the wheel and me as a passenger and I can honestly say 1:48 scared the shit outta me and its exactly what it feels like when you in a car accident
whoever had the idea for the design of this scene did an amazing fucking job, the way it feels is so gritty & real, really makes you feel like you’re there.
1:49 is the feeling you get when you are high and you fall into a limbo when you just think what’s gonna happen but then it does... because I’m that part it was a sign that they crashed but it claim they didn’t until they do
It would have been powerful if the movie ended right there at the jump scare. Of course they wouldn't do the viewers like that....but man, they had a chance to do something so chilling. The jump scare is so shockingly potent and realistic. I think if the movie ended right there like that, it would depict life. Just how it could end at any moment when you least expect it. You could be skating with your bros, laughing, partying, talking to girls, and looking forward to the future but in a split second of "OH FUCK" with a light in your face and car horn it could be over just like that.
@@jayrizzle9226 Right but if you rewatch the movie, you can see that Ray is the responsible kind and by that you would have thought that he wouldn't let Fuckshit drive.
