I figured out recently how to make a home business. You create your store with family apartment upstairs, set it as a residential lot, then use the debug markers to set the store as public space. Then add a "rabbithole for residential lots" or use a mod to allow all community objects on residential lots.
It workes great for my Victorian village where I want the doctor to work out of his home, rather than having a whole hospital.

Since I stumbled upon zerbu's mod I've been searching everywhere for how to open rabbit hole careers and since I'm a visual learner the tutorials I found on forums weren't very helpful. Thank you so much. You opened a door of immersive gameplay for me that no other TH-camr has. I’ve never heard of Zerbu’s Ultimate Careers Mod, and trust me, been searching TS3 mods, worlds, etc for months and months now. I’ve had difficulty understanding how to use Zerbu’s mod, so I’ma hop quick to your school video but just wanted to say thank you.
What happens when you switch households? Does it impact anything?
It hasn’t for me! In fact, if you switch households you can go to the business building on the other sims workday and hours and see them show up and start working!
@@LitrallyAJ does this work for the bookstore as well? I'd love an interactive bookstore
@@user-rt7wj5qb6n for the bookstore I would recommend placing down a book register. That can be found I think in the community objects section in build mode, then I would mark the lot as a library. That way sims will come in and read and you can also buy books from the register. If you wanted a sim to work as the book clerk you can use a mod called Nraas Register. It will allow you to assign any sim in the world to work a register, including active sims. They will tend the register and even get paid for it. I don’t recommend using the mod in this video for a book store bc there aren’t really any good interactions that will make it feel immersive.

There isn’t really any way to do it sadly. The best I could say is to make a reception area and you could just work as a receptionist In the hospital.

I honestly wish I could tell you but I have cleared out my mods folder since this video and I don't really know anymore. I will say I BELIEVE it was part of a massive skin dump so if you search Sims 3 skin dump I believe it came from Tumblr.

@@LitrallyAJ only clothes and hair which I have in my downloads folder not packages. I’ve downloaded ultimate careers and some nrass mods into my mods folder but I don’t see them in game
@@purplelover9633 When you set up your mods folder did you go mods>packages? You should have mods then a packages folder inside the mods folder. Also inside the mods folder should be a resource.cfg file. I recommend looking up sims 3 resource.cfg and downloading a new one if you already have one. If you don’t have one that is why it isn’t working.
