I can't believe that Michael complained about the music in the early 2000s lol, it was way better than the current music! And if there's 1 thing Smallville never missed it was the music featured on the show! The songs were always perfect for the scenes it always fit the vibes of the scenes and elevated your performances. It also give a feel of nostalgia whenever we rewatch the series today.
That’s nostalgia. People say that “old music is better than today’s music” all the time, and the goalpost always shifts. The current era is always the worst. But truth be told, 2000s has some atrocious trends when it comes to incorporating pop music into the shows and movies.
the scene music was great but at this point i can't stand the theme song. ive been watching again lately and i was a bit shocked at some of the background music that i've heard like the flaming lips. they definitely had some great music on the show. todays music is soulless and awful. you can still find good music from pandora or youtube.
Oh they did Eric dirty not giving him a proper send off. I think, rather than bringing him back to play an evil version, it would have been better if some being was present in the jungle, then we see Whitney returned to Smallville and it's actually him but more like an avatar while his real body is dying in an army hospital. In the end it's actually him, or his avatar, that saves the day. Then the knock on the door to tell Lana that he was never there at all.
I hated his character, so much it made me annoyed with Lana. I mean right from the start, he’s the worst. Then, they try to make the audience feel guilty for hating him, by having him join the military. I’m not even guilty that I hoped he’d never return, because he obviously was gonna return. The actor was perfect for the douchey boyfriend, who the lead love interest, just can’t break up with. High School is serious, and he’ll never get over her. 😆
I like how every time they make the guest a “surprise” during the introduction of the show. But they show who it is on the thumbnail of the episode also, every time. LOL
Tom is so humble...not only is he so talented as an actor...always loved how his eyes did expressions...but he went on to produce and direct....kudos Tom.
😄 The Smallville writers should start a podcast called "Talk Back Ville" where they similarly discuss each episode but focus more on what they liked and disliked about the actors and directors interpretations of their scripts! 😅
It’s an honor to have Eric Johnson with you, guys. This episode was one of the best of second season. Tina Turner impersonating Eric, stalking Lana. Many developments, in relation to the feelings of the characters. Smallville, the series that marketing our lives ❤

This episode I always get tears when I watch it. I just can't help it because it felt like a hero's journey for Whitney Fordman. Then the ending song My World playing in the background as Clark embraces Lana as she is crying was a very poignant ending and touching at the same time.
i agree there on that one it showed a theme a hidden theme about caring for someone you love like the ship even though it si a machine a part of Jor-el is in it and it saved Clark and the final Tina scene her last words was for caring for Lana, it does the same in parts of this one too.
@@-M0LE This is the worst take I've ever seen on the Internet. If you give your life up so people can sleep easier. You are a hero. They are more hero's then anything else.
It is sweet. But also I appreciate how Michael can be very matter of fact about it which I'd think would make it less embarrassing haha. It's not that Tom needs to be thought of as an Adonis for the ages or is somehow morally deserving of admiration more than anyone else. He just had a job to do, to work hard to maintain his physique, so he could create the right effect on the show. Look at it more functionally and maybe he'll feel less self conscious about it :)
The final scene of the episode between Clark and Lana in the cave remains one the best scenes from this whole season (and in my opinion one of the most memorable from the entire series with the combination of the great acting and music). Kristin was incredible at portraying Lana's emotions and there was always such a vulnerability conveyed by Tom and Kristin in these kinds of scenes that added so much to Smallville. I think that sense of tenderness and heart onscreen makes the Clana relationship so compelling throughout.
As usual, Michael is too tough on the show. Haha. This was always one of my favorite episodes. Getting to see all the actors play alternate versions of themselves, and Clark vs Clark. Classic.
@@Deluthan77 everyone has their tastes. But it seems like Michael is always comparing the show to a modern, tightly plotted streaming show, not an early 2000s weekly CW show like it was. Episodes like this were the reason many fans tuned in week after week. Freak of the week tropes were all the rage at this time. X-Files, Smallville, and Supernatural soon after.
@@tompollockjr144 Everybody does have their tastes, but much of what Michael is saying resonates with what I remember about these shows when they first aired, not some new standard that's emerged in the last few years. X-Files this was not. Also, the point of re-watching episodes 20 years after the fact is to reflect on what would be done differently today.
i agree, this is a great episode because we see here something different. Whitney wasn't a small character and getting this closer was important. Tina pretending to be Whitney, Lana and Clark bring unusual acting choices by the 3, and also we got to see Clark vs Clark in a way. Not every episode we see Clark that is not the real Clark
Love hearing about the behind the scenes of filming. I wish we'd heard from Tom about filming the final scene between Clark and Lana this episode. It's one of my favorite scenes from the whole show and it would've been great to get some more insight into it. Such brilliant acting and another amazing song.
Agreed this scene was so good! This is why fans have to send questions about the bts filming of scenes they love (you should have sent a question about that ending) cause if fans don't ask these questions they're gonna gloss over certains bts stuff (they also often don't remember the bts). But Michael perfectly described that scene and gave it the credit it deserved.
He didn't really have to do too much. Kristin did all the heavy lifting in that scene. Wish they asked her about when they had her back on for the season finale.
1. Michael has 3 signs of "relax" in his room. 2. First proposal on Smallville? maybe because in the episode where Lex is marrying the teacher, it was off-screen. 3. Of course Lana knows about the caves, she even asked her dad to help protect it. 4. So great to see Eric. I'm sure for him it's very not a big deal to play 1 season 20 years ago, but I think he's always part of Smallville, the show and even more, Smallville the town. 5. I think Clark's words about Whitney not being with superpowers and still putting himself in danger to make the world a safer place was a strong scene. even just watching it right now without a prior thinking, I got very emotional. 6. I like that at the end Clark goes to the cave with Lana's necklace. I mean, it almost like he was saved by the ship and no one mentioned it and the episode could be over, but no, we see that his mind still thinking about his origin and seeking answers, and he has no one to answer them. 7. Ryan is very unpredictable with his favourites scenes.
God I was getting on their case for forgetting there was a huge public demonstration about the caves, but I forgot Lana was directly involved in it, even worse! Maybe stop fast forwarding through other peoples' scenes Rosey :P
This is one of my favorite Season 2 episodes. Eric Johnson did a great job portraying both Whitney and Tina. I just feel really sorry for Whitney's mom because she lost her husband and son in a very short timeframe.
Eric Johnson!!! Happy you guys got him on the podcast!! Can’t wait to watch this ❤ The ending of this episode when they are playing “Mad World” made me cry 😢 Thank you so much guys for doing this podcast. It is the gift that keeps on giving ❤ Happy Talk Ville Wednesday ❤️☄️🌽
Eric Johnson describing himself as a golden retriever made my day 😂😂 so glad you got him for this episode!!! ❤❤❤ I don’t think he was given enough credit for the work he did in Smallville since he did play the character “in the way” of Clark and Lana. But Eric did an excellent job with what he was given. So cool to hear from him! Also, can we talk about how Sam gets knocked out cold and we never hear from him again in this episode? Haha now that they’ve pointed it out, I’ve noticed more often how he just disappears in episodes haha but it was probably just a broken wrist
Awesome to FINALLY see Eric Johnson on the pod! He really had this thankless role of being the first real obstacle in the Clark/Lana relationship. Happy to see him revisit the show, and give his own side of things, being on the show in its early stages. As a teen, I remember really digging this episode. The Tina Greer reveal was cool, and one of the first real instances of calling back to the show’s on continuity. That final scene really was amazing, and legit got me. Looking forward to the next ep. Definite back-to-back season 2 highlights. Can’t wait to hear y’all talk that one!
I remember always loving the beginning of the episode with Clark and Lana, and thinking, Clark's finally making his move on Lana and then "Whitney" comes back 😭. I was also surprised with the ship absorbing the necklaces' kryptonite and remember feeling bad for Lana. Loved Eric Johnson, thanks again guys ❤️
Great to see Eric Johnson on the show. He looks like a cool guy. I enjoyed watching this episode. Tina Greer played a great villain and the ending with the Mad World song was awesome and very memorable.
When I hear someone say they watched the show ages ago, I tell them there's no better time than to rewatch right now along with listening to the great rewatch podcast!! ❤ Keep holding onto Smallville, I love these pod episodes!! 😊
I love how Tom understands the viewpoints of the characters and how the scenes or episodes convey that! As a viewer I can totally understand that and it’s great visual storytelling!
I follow both of Rosey's podcasts and I just realized that the reason he's so hard on this show is maybe because he's just hard on himself (in general). It's definitely something I can relate to. Appreciate ya Rosey!
So cool to see Eric.I think he did a great job bringing Tina to life .And a great job was done by the actress playing his mom!!The closing seen with Lana and Clark in the caves was played well.Kristen sold it so did Tom.I give this episode a 1.5 🌹. Thanks guys awesome podcast!!!
Yes this ending and the ending scene from the episode where Clarke goes blind and discovers his super hearing when Lana leaves the loaft crying and Clarke hears it cause of his super hearing were 2 of the most emotional and memorable endings from the show imo CLANA
There was a lot of great acting in this episode, even the range of facial expressions. I thought the war scene was well done and the last explosion going off blocking Whitney and his friend so we didn’t know if they survived. In my opinion, Helen was not being aggressive when she found out Lex investigated her. She had a right to be ticked and I would have been too. The reveal of Tina as Whitney was a great twist. Also the spaceship saving Clark was pretty cool. The end with Clark and Lana was very powerful and I agree it was the best scene from the episode; great performances by Kristen and Tom there.
I will always say this, I never think Michael or Tom has ever shit on the show. I like how honest they are about scenes and episodes and how they enjoy working with guest stars. It was nice to see Eric Johnson. I saw him show up on Criminal Minds as Aaron Hotchner's brother Sean. Eric seems like a very nice and sincere guy who is grateful for where he is at, not that Tom and Michael aren't. I think Kristin could probably cry on queue, by the way. She is a great actress as well. I would give this episode 1 1/2 roses as well. I actually think that everyone did this episode justice but I do wish the story lines meshed with the episode. Thank you all again for another great episode guys. If there were any technical issues, it didn't show.
How delightful it was to witness Eric Johnson's presence, brimming with joy and a contagious ebullience that uplifted all in attendance. Listening to him speak was a revelatory experience, as his passion for his craft was palpable, and his affectionate recollections of his time on Smallville were truly inspiring. Indeed, the cast of Smallville was a thing of beauty, and it was evident that Johnson held a deep admiration for his former colleagues. Although fate had other plans for him, and he was written out of the show, it was great to see that the creators of Smallville had dedicated an entire episode to him. Johnson's talent shone through as he adeptly played two disparate characters - the reformed bully, Whitney, and the emotionally unstable Tina Geer. His portrayal of both characters was equally impressive, and even when he was in the throes of instability, one could not help but be captivated by his performance. I must confess that when he pushed Clark several feet with a single shove, I was taken aback, and it was only when Clark X-rayed him that I realized that he was indeed portraying the character of Tina. Nevertheless, Johnson's remarkable talent was on full display, and maybe he could revisit your show during the flashback in season 4; It also be great to see him on your other show.
The Irony of Rosenbaum complaining that the music at the time complained too much. One of the highlights of the early seasons of Smallville was how they used current popular music, it enhanced the episodes and I wish they wouldn’t have gone away from using music.
I agree, I have never met any Smallville fan who has ever complained about the music placed in the show. I love the "outro music" or "end credits music." There is so much great music in Smallville, but we will be here all day if I tried to list them, so I just put two. th-cam.com/video/ULTVPtc4NFw/w-d-xo.html -> Read the comments as well and you will see how much fans love the music th-cam.com/video/NLYEExrAEJI/w-d-xo.html
I am so glad that y’all got Eric on the podcast. I thought that all of the actors did a great job when they had to play some else pretending to be them. Tom did a great job on the Clark versus Clark fight. Lex definitely has reasons to be paranoid considering that is how he was raised. Nature vs. Nurture. The pool scene was fun to watch. I thought that the ship saving Clark was a great scene. The only one that Tina did not affect was Lex. Lex saying that he doesn’t want to become like his dad was powerful. Love this podcast. I just wonder where the doctor was taking Lex at the end?
I am impressed, Ryan really knows his song all Michael did was give him a couple of words to a song he couldn't remember and Ryan was able to come up with a list of songs with the word in it. He was finally able to match the song to the correct song, maybe we should just call Ryan "Google" lol. Love the guest you had "Eric Johnson" great guest. Loved listening to him and boy he sounds one hundred per cent American.
34:10 YES MICHAEL 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻. Best scene of the episode, I cried like a baby! And one of THE BEST SONGS of the whole series imo. See they had good music! 😅
Thanks Jason for technical assistance I stayed till the end ✔️ I remember this episode came out during the war earlier 2000s Seeing Eric Rock that USMC Outfit 🙏 Seemed like a Good thing for a Redemption Mode for Whitney 💯 Awesome job on getting him on as a Guest 🎉 Hope to see him on (Inside of You Podcast ✅ Tom and Michael 🤣 Always enjoy your Story's love you guys ❤️💙🤘 I give it a Single 🌹
I wonder during shooting of this episode did Eric and Lizzy studied each other to perfect the mannerisms because Eric captures those subtleties and Nuances as to what triggers her. Even the split second with Tina as Lana knocking out Pete (his stunt double) as the camera pans to Lana imitating Tina with the line delivery was spot on to Tina.
Yes! That's what I was going to say to the question about whether Clark intentionally added some camp to the "why won't you die!" line - he did it just like Tina would've said it! One reason I love this episode is some of those great crazy person lines without it being nonstop. Lizzy Caplan going "shuuut up!" to Whitney's mom just cracks me up, and both Tom and Eric nailed that vibe.
My wife and I couldn't control ourselves to watch each episode with you guys. Ive seen the show but my wife hasnt so I explain all the lore. We are now on season 6 and I was thinking "I dont remember these episodes at all" only to realize I never watched past season 5! Season 6 is bomb!
This was a great episode, thanks for doing Talkville so the fans can gain some insight to all the in's and outs of the show, love you guys, you all rock🙌
I’ve been loving talkville and it’s great seeing / hearing you guys talking.with the guests, what it was like for them and just going over everything that went down all those years ago. Thinking back to when Smallville started, I don’t think anyone would’ve predicted we’d be reliving the show through you guys and it’s been amazing! Thanks for doing this!!!
To me the end of this episode has always been one of my favorites of the whole show where Clark asks Johnathan if he thinks he would be brave enough to do what Whitney did if he didn’t have his powers. To me it really shows Clark’s upbringing and his respect for the men and women in uniform. It seriously just seems like it really hits at a fundamental of Superman as an American hero
Ryan's crack about whether John Schneider just scolded Clark about respecting servicemembers on his own volition without it being in the script made me laugh though :P
I was really hoping you get Eric Johnson for this episode and you guys did not disappoint! So nice to see this OG cast reunion. I liked "Visage" the episode was entertaining, fun and sad at the same time. The ending scene with Clark and Lana was so great, one of my favorite scenes from season 2! Kristin and Tom were always amazing doing these very emotional Clark and Lana's scenes throughout the series, it get me everytime. I liked Lex and Helen's relationship even tho we didn't see them going on dates it was said that they had been dating for awhile now and they had great chemistry so I bought it. Tina taking Clark's appearance and making her moves on Lana then the Clark vs "Clark" scene was so fun to watch.
Glad you reminded me about that! I didn't notice any issues at all, nice job Jason. (Other than the fact they don't usually seem to call the guests "live" during their regular recording, and cut it in instead, but that's no big deal. Although sometimes I wonder if they've already talked to the guest or not when they get the fan questions.)
Fans LOVE the music in Smallville. My Mom an older immigrant, who wouldn't have been caught dead listening to most of the music from the period, but if it was in Smallville, she automatically loved it; even if she didn't realize retrospectively that it was a Smallville song.
I think maybe the writers were more concerned with the character development of Lex than the actual relationship. It shows a different side of him, capable of love and growth and that he wants to be loved and that he’s not all bad (yet) even though his father is actively working against him and sort of instigating his darker side at every turn. I liked that new lens on Lex.
34:43 I am so happy to hear that Rosenbaum likes the next episode. I've been waiting patiently for that one because it's one of my favourite episodes. I've been dreading getting to it and Rosenbaum saying that he hates it 😂 Also, Byron Mann is in it and he is awesome!
The last scenes were very touching. Lex getting to get rid of his armor, saying that he doesn't want to become his father, and Lana's despair saying that she doesn't want to lose the only one that has been a constant in her life. I felt it greatly, as the song of that scene was the same was playing when I broke up with my boyfriend.
Scene when officer McNulty arrives at the Fordmans was quite shocking. Baseball bat moment... Especially this early in Smallville. I think that actress Catherine Barroll did a wonderful job here. She really looked terrified, so well done! Eric!!! Yeeees😃! I love, love, love Visage❤ 2,5 🌹Emotional episode.
The scene, the buildup and the mom's scream was great, but the hitting wasn't shocking enough. we only see that he beats him maybe 2 hits, and it's not very fitting a crazy murderer that would have hit on repeat.
after years I find myself watching again the episodes of Smallville and as always, great emotions! a leap into my adolescence and now that I am the mother of a small child I look at it with a totally different perspective. In a way, I grew up with the series. Thank you because every time it's a wonderful feeling! I hope that sooner or later you will meet in Italy! all the best😊
Michael, I didn't know you write scripts! I'm a fledgling writer myself. I feel like this substantiates your reviews even more. You've actually done the work, so you know how it is, and you can speak to the quality even better. Between that and Tom's production/direction experience, I feel like you give a complete picture of what filming these episodes is really like. I'm learning so much!
Eric seems like a real lovely dude. Very nice to see him. As someone who grew up watching Smallville it's funny and interesting to see these people that you're used to just thinking of as their characters.. seeing them being just ... people. You sometimes forget that 'stars' are people too. Michael and Tom too, nice to hear them just talk and be people.
Absolutely love Eric. He plays Sam Fisher in the latest Splinter Cell game and to watch Visage was such a throwback. Tried to convince myself it was his Splinter Cell origin story 😂
This episode is so much fun. 2 roses from me :) I think the ship protected Clark, because that is how it was programmed, it had kept him safe through space (until landing on Earth) all those years ago. Why would it not still try to protect him? Podcast is as awesome as always! 🤩🥰
Yesss!!! I love this episode! Withney is back! Tina is back! And wow guys!!!! Eric is in the podcast!!!! TGI Wednesday! Thank you for a new episode! Love you!!!
Visage was one of my fave episodes (the wet t shirt chemistry between Lana and Clark SIZZLED!!) It is so funny but I've always pronounced it VIZ-arge like the 80s band...and I probably still say it like that even though I know it is not right! Great podcast...ERIC! He is so awesome to listen to and I would LOVE to see him on IOU podcast. Looking forward to seeing him in projects coming up. Thanks for another great podcast. xx
Tom mentioning Kristin three times during the interview with Eric: so sweet to see that he seems to like her as a person and that he enjoyed working with her 🥰 #mybabies #clanafan
SMALLVILLE WRITERS’ APPRECIATION POST Just wanted to spread some love and give thanks to all the writers’ that contributed to making Smallville great. With ten seasons of content, it’s expected that some episodes weren’t as strong as others, but even the weakest ones always had great scenes/storylines worth watching. Smallville could get corny at times, but that was the 00’s for you, and it added to the charm. Also, it’s sad to find out how little many of the writers were paid and were struggling to make ends meet. Al and Miles have even stated that they had to ‘sneak’ in the superhero elements as the network’s main agenda was the teenage drama aspect and finding ways to get Clark shirtless (not that I’m complaining). It also has to be taken into account the numerous external factors that affected storylines, which the writers had no control over. Also, how much the 2007-2008 Writers Guild of America strike impacted the industry, causing the cancellation of many shows and the downfall of others (e.g. the 11 episode season 2 of “Heroes” was the beginning of the end for that show), with the Smallville writers working right through until the strike to get 20 episodes out in season 7, of which Smallville was only one of a handful of tv shows that produced 20 or more episodes that season (unfortunately that prevented satisfying ends to Lex and Lana's storylines, due to Michael and Kristin leaving the show). It’s great to see so many of Smallville’s writers’ have had stellar careers and moved on to writing/creating and becoming showrunners of success television shows in their own rights.
LOL “Taylor Thomas crapping out his duplicate!” and “A girl that farts an invisible fart bubble!” Are two of the funniest things I’ve heard in a long time! I can just picture it: “FlatulenceGirl Coming to the CW this fall!” Also I wonder if the “2 Clarks fighting” scene was meant to be a tribute to the Superman 3 fight in the junkyard. As always, love you guys and you guys always brighten up my day!
Loved you having Eric on the show. I think everyone did a great job of acting a little like Tina when she was being them. Wish Tom had remembered about doing the Clark/Clark fight scene, looked great!
Tidbit. That song “Wake Me Up When September Ends” is about the lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong father's death when he was 10 so it's why it's sappy and whiney. Supposedly, after his father’s funeral. He had locked himself in his room and when his mother knocked on the door, he replied, “Wake me up when September ends”.
I am eight minutes in, just started to watch it now and before I carry on I want to make a quick comment. @7:53 In the opening scene, Clark and Lana share a moment of exquisite intimacy, the kind that leaves you breathless and yearning for more. Despite their physical distance, the tension between them is palpable as Lana's flustered reaction to Clark's wet T-shirt ignites a spark that could set the world ablaze. The very next day, Clark is on cloud nine, buoyed by the hope that he might finally have a chance with Lana. Alas, fate intervenes in the form of a dashing imposter Whitney, and Clark's dreams are dashed as quickly as they were kindled. The sight of Lana dropping her books and running towards this fake Whitney, while the other students part ways in reverence, is a cool scene indeed. But for Clark, it is a heart-wrenching moment that lays bare his raw emotions. As he gazes at Lana's fallen books, his usual instinct to help is overridden by a seething anger that threatens to consume him. It is a testament to the depth of his feelings that he cannot bring himself to pick them up, even though he normally would have done so without a second thought. In that fleeting moment, we see the true depth of Clark's pain and the tragedy of unrequited love. Clark helping th-cam.com/video/H37C4S5uQqE/w-d-xo.html&feature=shares
I loved this episode. Some of my favorite episodes are the ones when Tom got to do something different with Clark's character. And who doesn't love a bad boy?
I think the thing with Lex moving the cue ball around as he pleases when playing pool is an allusion to his not being bothered about the "rules of the game". He plays as he likes and ALWAYS wins.
The gut wrenching end scene with Clark and Lana to Mad World is one of my favorites of the entire series. In all of the complications that are Clark and Lana, you see them push past their history and just care for each other. There's such a deep love they have. I am always gonna be team Lana because of the 8 seasons dedicated to their development. I'm sure I'll have more to say on the later episodes.
Michael is crazy😂, It wouldn’t matter if the show was On the CW in the early 2000’s, On AMC during the 2010’s, or on a streaming service right now, this show by any means is one of the best of all times, 2 Roses 🌹 🌹
I always love the episodes where you have guest stars. Eric Johnson, how have you not aged a single day???? I know a lot of folks didn't like Whitney, because he "got in the way" of Clark and Lana, but I loved his character. Glad you guys on him on the podcast!

Bingo.
I actually MISS 2000s music and find that decade terribly underrated compared to the 90s and especially 80s

Agreed. Lifehouse was featured at least a couple times too, which I liked. Great band.😊❤
True, the Music in Smallville is easily among the best in all of TV-History.
I’m surprised he said that when in other episodes he has sort of praised the bands. He is just a punk/rock type of person I think
It was nice to hear from Eric Johnson. The show didn’t have place for him unfortunately but he is a part of the show history

Or he just grows up and gets another girlfriend and moves away
Or in the Series Finale you see a hologram of Whitney. Clark's first tragic loss that he won't be able to save just like Ryan.
Just like Rick Costnett who played Eddie Thawne in Season 1 of the flash tv series.
I hated his character, so much it made me annoyed with Lana.
I mean right from the start, he’s the worst. Then, they try to make the audience feel guilty for hating him, by having him join the military.

The dialogue between Lana and Clark with Mad World in the background is by far my favorite of the series.
Tom is so humble...not only is he so talented as an actor...always loved how his eyes did expressions...but he went on to produce and direct....kudos Tom.
He really is! Even in Lucifer you cant help but think he's just a nice guy 😂

well said. the honor was ours :)
"Tina Turner" was simply the best character. Better than all the rest. 😉🤣
But what's love got to do with it?

This episode I always get tears when I watch it. I just can't help it because it felt like a hero's journey for Whitney Fordman. Then the ending song My World playing in the background as Clark embraces Lana as she is crying was a very poignant ending and touching at the same time.

So sweet that Tom seems to get embarrassed when Michael brings up the wet t-shirt part. ❤ Gotta remember this was originally a teen focused CW show.
Love Tom's perspective on everything. He knows and understands what the show was/is. ❤
The caller moose, shes acctualy ellen from supernatural. Lol not the actress but the hunter
Kristin was PHENOMENAL in that scene
@@TalkVillePodcastI’m on season 4 episode 5 run and so far season 3 and 4 are better than season 2 in my opinion
@@TalkVillePodcast Kristin Laura kreuk born PHENOMENAL 🤣🤣😂😂 greetings from a big fan of Smallvile from Brazil....
@@edgarbancayan3480 Ellen on Supernatural was Samantha Ferris.
As usual, Michael is too tough on the show. Haha. This was always one of my favorite episodes. Getting to see all the actors play alternate versions of themselves, and Clark vs Clark. Classic.
I disagree. They've got to keep it real.
Also, the point of re-watching episodes 20 years after the fact is to reflect on what would be done differently today.
redemption next week buddy. love
i agree, this is a great episode because we see here something different.
Oh I'm sure he'll just say "I don't remember anything on that scene" lol
Lost her son twice essentially. To have him back after he was missing, only to find out he was not himself. That would be horrible.
@@JerodM True. That is much worse. I wish Lana could have mentioned visiting Whitney's mom at least later on to check on her
Eric Johnson!!!
Think he was a child actor if I'm not mistaken
Eric Johnson describing himself as a golden retriever made my day 😂😂 so glad you got him for this episode!!! ❤❤❤
I don’t think he was given enough credit for the work he did in Smallville since he did play the character “in the way” of Clark and Lana.
You could tell they didn’t know what to do with him
Two constants to this podcast:
1. Rosenbaum crapping on the show
2. Welling not remembering anything.
😂
Ruthless
😂😂😂. I wish he would take off his hat
The acting was awesome in this episode. The change of each character when playing Tina is simply fantastic. Loved it!
Great to see Eric Johnson on the show. He looks like a cool guy. I enjoyed watching this episode. Tina Greer played a great villain and the ending with the Mad World song was awesome and very memorable.
Awwww I loved the Eric Johnson segement. He is such a down to earth guy
12:05 When Michael says ne never liked the music on the show that explains everything. I'm like that's one of the best things about the show!🤦♂
I follow both of Rosey's podcasts and I just realized that the reason he's so hard on this show is maybe because he's just hard on himself (in general). It's definitely something I can relate to. Appreciate ya Rosey!
Shoutout to Jason for his mad editing skills despite all the issues and STILL finding time to add a call in jingle! Thank you Jason!!!!
I love the "outro music" or "end credits music."
There is so much great music in Smallville, but we will be here all day if I tried to list them, so I just put two.

It's funny, he does a perfect American accent, but the moment they asked him about it I thought he slipped for a second on the word "audition" :)
The fact that they got Eric Johnson is just so amazing!!! I love this freakin podcast
I wonder during shooting of this episode did Eric and Lizzy studied each other to perfect the mannerisms because Eric captures those subtleties and Nuances as to what triggers her. Even the split second with Tina as Lana knocking out Pete (his stunt double) as the camera pans to Lana imitating Tina with the line delivery was spot on to Tina.
had to. they're spot on.
Eric studies Tina makes sense, because he's playing Tina in Whitney's body, but Lizzy didn't have to study Whitney because she's still Tina.
@@jerodast you can catch Lizzy Caplan in a similar role for Paramount Plus' Fatal Attraction.
My wife and I couldn't control ourselves to watch each episode with you guys. Ive seen the show but my wife hasnt so I explain all the lore. We are now on season 6 and I was thinking "I dont remember these episodes at all" only to realize I never watched past season 5! Season 6 is bomb!
6 is my fav 🎉🎉
In my last rewatch I got up to season 7. I’ll have to get back to it and watch the rest.
For as much as I enjoy the high school years and college year(?), I love the Metropolis era! Especially when we finally get to the Lois and Clark era!
I started the season when the podcast first dropped. I couldn’t stop myself and watched 10 seasons before Xmas lol
Ooooh be there soon pal. thanks for joining along
LOVE Eric Johnson!!!! Would be great to see Lizzy Caplan on the podcast too and hear her experience as she went on to do big things since.
Have been binge watching all Talk Ville episodes and could not wait for the newest upload! Honestly the highlight of my week 🙌🏻
Just watched this episode! This one was great! It had all the emotions... fun, sad, "wow" factors... was awesome!
I honestly really love this episode, I was really surprised Talkville didn’t enjoy it more!☹️I give it 2 Roses
TALKVILLIANS UNITE!!! Love you guys!! GO Michael!! Go Tom! Go Bryce! Go Jason! Go Ryan!! ALWAYS hold onto grape Gatorade light!!
Thank you everyone, especially Jason for the editing.
Starting it now ! Very happy to see Eric Johnson as the guests!!!
Show keeps getting better and better ⭐
McNulty
Remember that name
after years I find myself watching again the episodes of Smallville and as always, great emotions! a leap into my adolescence and now that I am the mother of a small child I look at it with a totally different perspective. In a way, I grew up with the series. Thank you because every time it's a wonderful feeling! I hope that sooner or later you will meet in Italy! all the best😊
Didn't notice any issues on this episode! Great job Jason! You're the best in the biz!
All these guests, cast members❤ on Talk Ville... so nostalgic 😢 bring back memories❤.
Another great epidode of Talk Ville. Thank you so much Tom, Michael, Ryan, all the guests and all the staff guys. Love you all.❤❤❤
This episode is so much fun. 2 roses from me :)
I think the ship protected Clark, because that is how it was programmed, it had kept him safe through space (until landing on Earth) all those years ago. Why would it not still try to protect him?
Podcast is as awesome as always! 🤩🥰

Eric Johnson has a fantastic voice, man. Good to see he's doing extremely well.
I love the horror elements of this show, the baseball bat scene was a surprise but in a good way, I agree the mother’s reaction was great!
Man, this podcast always keeps me excited waiting for the next episode. Thanks for this nice content, guys! Please, keep it up!
A round of applause for Jason 👏🏻 This podcast episode was edited together nicely. I wouldn't have guessed there were so many technical issues.
"You can't make 22 great episodes a season. It's impossible!". C'mon now, Rosenbaum, tell that to Chloe! Haha
“Licking out for his son.” Oh Michael.😂🤣☠️ That made me giggle, I rewound it 3 times and made my hubby watch.
Thanks for another great podcast. xx
"Visage" is totally pronounced that way! The french way for a french word. I like the way they think.
Hey guys. Love the show. The ship wasn’t saving Clark, it was protecting itself. Thanks for all you do.

SMALLVILLE WRITERS’ APPRECIATION POST
Just wanted to spread some love and give thanks to all the writers’ that contributed to making Smallville great.
Really enjoyed listening Eric. Nice to hear from him
"...her name might've been Ruth, instead of Moose..." Michael, that cracked me up!😆
LOL “Taylor Thomas crapping out his duplicate!” and “A girl that farts an invisible fart bubble!” Are two of the funniest things I’ve heard in a long time!
I can just picture it: “FlatulenceGirl Coming to the CW this fall!”
Also I wonder if the “2 Clarks fighting” scene was meant to be a tribute to the Superman 3 fight in the junkyard.
He had locked himself in his room and when his mother knocked on the door, he replied, “Wake me up when September ends”.
well that's a crotch punch.........damn.
I am eight minutes in, just started to watch it now and before I carry on I want to make a quick comment.
@7:53
In the opening scene, Clark and Lana share a moment of exquisite intimacy, the kind that leaves you breathless and yearning for more.

The ending scene is worth 3 roses alone. But overall I’m giving this episode 1.5 roses 🌹🥀. Great to hear from Eric Johnson
I wasn't expecting it, but that was probably my favorite guest you guys have had on so far. I'd love to hear more from him on Inside of You
I rate this episode Visage 1 and a half roses. I love this episode of talkville thrilled to see Eric Johnson on here, thank you guys for doing this!.
"When you saw Michael in the parking lot and you told him what you were doing, did he try to visit set?" 😂😂😂
Licking out for his son 😂😂😂 Another great episode lads!
It made sense for the ship to save Clark. It was probably because the ship was programmed to protect baby Clark on his voyage through space to earth.
I loved this episode. Some of my favorite episodes are the ones when Tom got to do something different with Clark's character. And who doesn't love a bad boy?
You guys always manage to get the best guests!
Love Clana too even though Lana did doubt Clark and was a bit dumb/annoying like that
I also enjoyed the visual effects with the morphing sequence at the Fordman residence as Whitney morphed to Tina, tells Whitney's mom to shut-up.
Seriously after a Talkville episode last week, I've been rewatching for the 1st time. It is so crazy the different stuff I'm picking up.
