I got an iX last December, my 2nd EV, and it’s amazing. The interior is lush - I opted for the crystal controls and they really lift it. I have the 40 and through summer i’ve got 250 to 260 miles with 4-8% of battery remaining. [with the 22” wheels]
Hi, I bought an iX 50 3 months ago when it was just under 2 years old. Two weeks in I had a drive train failure which took a week to sort out. Also found out that the previous owner had quite a few issues (on top of losing half his money in less than two years!). However, now that this has been addressed, I am beginning to appreciate the sunny side of this car (my 10th BMW). Superbly comfortable with the air suspension, quietest EV I have driven so far, amazing for long distance travel, blistering performance, charge at home and you’ll cover more than 300 miles for under £7, Bowers and Wilkins sound system is awesome, three adults can sit comfortably in the back. Downsides: not great for small parking bays or narrow B roads, frameless doors sound cheap ( Tesla owners know all about that), won’t win any beauty contests, headrest is a serious injury risk for someone who is only 5’3” (my wife).
I moved out of my I-pace HSE (which I loved but not enough range) to an IX. The 70 MPH hwy range is brilliant and enjoy the air suspension and all wheel steer.
Good review. I’m biased having purchased a used x40, what I can say factually is mine doesn’t have the parcel rattle! So I may have got lucky … For me the car is a massive upgrade to anything I’ve ever owned and I love sitting in it and cruising about. It’s comfortable and a bit bougie inside. I got the loft grey interior and it’s essentially a 70s spaceship lounge. Pretty avant garde, suites the wacky exterior whilst feeling pretty luxurious. Range not a problem for me and my usage.
I am driving and I X since two years now after owning Tesla's and Lexus, I have to say that this is by far the best I got regarding comfort and drive pleasure, I'm usually driving 250 km a day , what is important for me to sit in a couch , l I just love this car it's really great but I have to say my next one would be taycan 4s cross turismo, this is my dream car and I'm following your channel because you are one of those who are telling me every time : go and buy it :)
Having driven both Porsche Taycan and the BMW you see here - as a bmw fan boy of many yrs with many bmw cars come n gone I can only say personally I felt it was bloody awful esp the inner door card design is horrible, the car feels like it has no bmw dna in it . First bmw Iv ever driven that I thought it had no connection to me as a driver where as the Porsche is somehow a sports car that looks abit likes sedan , drives fantastic and looks amazing .
@ true but BMWs have always made me feel like I’m part of the car , the way the car feeds back to the driver , it’s enjoyable and analog and engaging but that Ev makes you feel like your part of something over weight and disjointed and doesn’t give you any sense of that bmw dna that was so present from the e39 all the way through to cars they made since in my opinion - I’m not saying I’m an expert or anything and I’m sure for a lot of people that ev will be a good car but sorry bmw it’s not what Iv come to expect from a bmw
Too ugly in too many areas - side profile is just about ok, rest is terrible. Never had an issue with the brakes on my Taycan 4s. Not as good as my old Boxster with PCCB, but I find the transition smooth between mechanical brake and regen.

The one I'm in now seems pretty solid! 👍🏻

Sorry to hear that but glad it's going well for you now! Agree with you on the doors, glass seems a bit flimsy but seems to do the job

Which version of the iX did you go for?
@@TABonTV Hello, IX xdrive50

Thanks, glad you're enjoying yours. This one's a rental so it's bound to have seem some pretty heavy use, all still works well though! Seems solid!
I get 300 miles in any weather at 70-75mph in my iX50. It’s a great motorway cruiser. Marmite looks, but at least it’s not boring.
That's pretty good, it's about 100 less for the smaller battery ix40. The looks work for me.
I'd like to know whether the iX, Taycan, e-tron GT, or EQS are the most reliable out of warranty.
The car doesn't know its out of warranty. I would always have one on any of these cars. Too much risk!

The Taycan is another level of engagement! I'm impressed with the iX though!
What about taycan did they diagnose the problem
Update dropping on Tuesday 👍🏻
Now the elefant in the room.. what's the forecast from Porsche on your Taycan repair?
Update to follow next week 👍🏻

It's a lot to ask to have such a massive hunk of car feel really connected. Esp when trying to compare one of these to a Taycan...

It does have strong Marmite-ness 😆
