This is soooooooo good. I can't stop listening to this. I am 72 and still enjoying all this music from my past, including this one. My body may be getting old but still young at heart.😀👍❤
1971 Dallas, canned heat stagehands flung hundreds of orange frisbees to the crowd during this song. What a great time to grow up in. Thanks for the memories !
I saw them in the college town of Ellensburg, WA right around the same time (Joel Scott Hill was with them then) and the stagehands did the same thing. Frisbees flyin' over our heads.
So great to hear you guys after all these years ...im 72 years old now and still remember when i first heard this track ...sounds just like yesterday !! 🙏😊❤
This song --everything about the song--fully captures the feelings of joy, freedom, expectation, adventure, loss, and loneliness of hitting the open road! Caught Canned Heat in the 60's in Palm Springs. Listen to them while tooling the desert in my camper van in the present.
I live in WH and the Bass player lives across the street. Up in the hills near dirt Mulholland. His name is Rick. They are going on tour in Europe soon where they are much more popular. Then Australia.
This song has the haunting primordial drone, almost a didgeridoo backing it up, pretty much on one note throughout. It's very simple, but has great depth and power. A great song.
No offense but you have the wrong (sub) continent and the wrong culture. The instrument is a tambura. This has been chronicled pretty heavily throughout the years. To end on a different note: yes, it's a great song. I never tire of it. I play it myself at shows.
Fantastic . I love to see the “old “ bands and musicians still at it. [ sadly, we’ve lost so many, especially the past year or so😢]. KEEP ROCKING ‼️ 📻🙂
Can't feckin believe it, started listening to these guys in the sixties, saw them at the Orlando Sports Arena nobody could afford the seats in front of the stage so the band started an insurrection and told everyone to come down out of the bleachers. Security went ape for about 5min. Then just went away. Canned Heat knew how to put the boogie on.
Wow this band and songs kept me going on flights for many years to Africa and beyond in extreme conditions. For ever young guys please keep keepin it on kick ass again and again. A flower in my youth guys . Thanks .
Going Up The Country was the perfect theme for the Woodstock movie. I saw them in Seattle when they opened for The Doors I believe. Nice they are still at it.
35 years ago i was travelling in Germany in winter time...snow was almost 50 cm high...in a 2cv Citroen car and 5 crazy students on board....and the driver 12h midnight played on cassette this jewel....that snowy night silence was a must...we were travelling like sardines in that small car....great souvenirs. Then years later i saw them on stage and met fito de la parra the drummer who signed me a cd
@@davezul4396 I hear your brother those were the great days they really were. To me it is amazing that we did all that and the kids today don't even want to buy a car they don't even want to driver's license and they want to stay at home and live with Mommy. I couldn't wait to get in my car with my girlfriend and go all night long like the song says!

Oh that was just wonderful, I listen and watch the old videos then to my surprise this, came up absolutely wonderful, I love it, they still sound realy brilliant well done guys
Was fortunate to see these guys at our N.Michigan, Blissfest. Awsome and fun show! They said they enjoyed our Blissfest more than when they played at Woodstock 😊
I remember seeing the lineup of The Mole, Adolfo De La Para, Henry Vestine James Thornbury and a keyboard player.... back in the 80's..... in Australia.

This took me back to England in the 70s when the travelling Fair and Amusements set up near my house. They played this continuously till late into the night. Good memories.
Oh my word!!! Im in HAPPY tears right now!! Without doubt THE band who lead me to the Blues. Jeez..bucketlist? SEE or SING with these guys.. me? UK. Can travel ❤
Wow, what a perfect rendition. If I hadn't seen the video first, I'd say these professionals were in their 20's. Amazing performance. Thanks for sharing.
Canned Heat played at my high school Xaverian Bros. HS in Westwood, Mass in '73. Big Bear Hite, and Blind Al Wilson. They were definitely on the the road again.
Took me straight back to those good old days. Great times, shame we have to grow up, well in body still got a young mind. And the youngsters think it hasn't been done before.🤣🤣🤣

a whole time when the world was much better than today.👍👍
Except not even close. I'm guessing you grew up white? Yeah the music was better but that's about it.

Unlike quite a few oldies ( I’m one myself ) these boys are still spot on with their rendition so many years later - congratulations very well done ,
There's a place in the space time continuum where it is forever 1969 🎸🎸
Canned Heat. I haven't heard the name in decades! Got to love the internet for preserving timeless historic assets like this rendition.
Just so you know the drummer is original member and the guys have been doing it for many years too,,

Still a fave after all these years. They are one of the most underrated bands.
I can hear Hite, Wilson and the other members that have passed on. Well done ...
