I would like to see the layout. Your Bats&Boos quilt looks great. Oh my Stars looks great and I like the ideas/changes.you come up with. Your brain must run a 100 mi a minute so you get all these creations completed. This is what makes you so special and we are great friends for it.
I ran screaming from south Texas 12 years ago because of the heat. I landed in WV and have truly enjoyed having four real seasons! This summer made me seriously consider moving farther north, so I'm glad to see August go, especially since I need to quilt the big quilt I made for my darling daughter, and having it draped all over me in the summer just will not do. Thank you for your daily videos, my friend! They make my day so much brighter.
I feel the same way about the last day of August!! This year we’re going out with smoke from the fires 🔥 we had company and couldn’t enjoy the backyard or pool. Looking forward to Fall and winter!
Absolutely love your bats and boos quilt. Love all your choices. I have your Oh My Stars pattern and I am looking forward to getting started. I spend a LOT of time checking and changing the layout. Every time I move one square it means another one needs to be moved.😂 I don’t usually do mystery quilts because the time and money spent to end up with a quilt I don’t love is too much of a risk for me. Thanks for the videos. I really enjoy them.
I really love you're narrow border and then a binding of the same color! I love a mystery sew a long. I'll do it any way you present it honestly. Love, your videos and you. Thanks for sharing your talents.
Pat, you have such a lovely positive energy! The end of Aug makes me a bit sad as it marks the end of Summer in Canada, where I'm from. Thank you for sharing your expertise and this video!
Great tips for Oh, My Stars! Yes, to see the next quilt layout and blocks. It helps me plan for my fabrics. Yes, it's time for some cooler weather. I'm on the other side of the Potomac River in Maryland, so my weather is similar to yours, Pat! Happy September and Happy Fall!!!
I'd like to see the names of the blocks. Looking forward to this quilt along. Thanks for offering your book as an e-book on Amazon. I try not to buy any more actual quilt books anymore, but I'm happy to buy the e-books.
Yes! Love the tips for the oh my stars quilt. Understanding the different layout ideas helps me to decide which fabric I want use. And it also helps me to make sure my stars will stand out. Thank you for taking the time to do this! Very helpful!
I have an "Oh My Stars" ready to sew. I used left over 4-1/2" squares from another quilt project. The tips and ideas came just in time for me to implement.
I have enjoyed your tips on the Oh My Stars quilt. Waiting for my fabric to arrive and looking forward to making it. I love fall. School starting brings an end to summer fun even though the season doesn’t end till sept. 22. Happy quilting!! Thanks for sharing your wisdom with us!
Thank you for more tips on the Oh, My Stars quilt. That pattern seems to be an all-time favorite among your followers which indicates it should go on my list of possibles.
I believe we think of the end of summer now because for so many years the school year started and our daily routines went back to the hectic routines of school, sport activities and all that. Being a retired teacher, I still am tempted to buy school supplies, but resists. I can also enjoy the lovely weather that continues through September and part of October.
Yes love the tips on the Oh my Stars quilt! I am just getting started and it is very helpful to have your guidance on how to approach and organize the fabrics. Thank you so much for everything you do! 💕 Very excited for the Happy Everything project too. I just received my book and am anxiously awaiting the fabric requirements to start my selection for this project. I would be happy to see the blocks listing in the pattern layout. I think it might help with fabric selection, this is the area I find challenging.
I put together my first Oh My Stars quilt top . Used squares that have been hanging around not knowing what to do. Came out very nice. Mindy (my cat) and I spend our lunch time with you every day. love your videos. Am also keeping up the summer soiree.
Your bats & boos borders are fantastic. I like your idea about the 1 1/4” border and binding. I enjoyed seeing how you laid out the Oh My Stars for the placement colours
I am so enjoying seeing you work through the Oh My Stars! pattern! I purchased it and have it on my to-do list but seeing your videos makes me more confident about getting started on it! Thank you Pat!
I just had a thought as you spoke about having to take your quilt down and hoping you can keep it all in place. What if you put a large piece of flannel on the quilt wall, then put the quilt on that and then just rolled it up the way you do with a puzzle that isn't finished? For now, you could put the flannel on a table and transfer the quilt to it and roll, but in the future, maybe that would work on the wall. If it holds puzzle pieces, it should hold quilt squares. Maybe make the layout a separate post for those of us who want it and then the ones who want to be surprised can ignore that post.
Love all your things. I enjoy the way you think about it all. I’m learning so much. Thank you. I like the idea of surprise. So I won’t over think things. Lol
@Pat Sloan A lot of people love it to be an actual mystery they find it really exciting; and those of us who like to see the whole project before we start sewing can simple wait to start.
I like the surprise when doing a quilt along, it helps me slow down on the process and works on putting everything together at the end (matching colors …) Thanks for the tips 👍
Hello, I made the Star quilt two years ago, for a baby boy. I used a nice simple jungle sketching charm pack, then I added solid colors. I wanted a quilt fabric in the quilt that when he is 8 ish he won't say it's a baby quilt. LOL. I don't have a space for a design wall, so I use a sheet of plywood on horses, in my garage, place a sheet on it and start laying my quilts out. We do what we can.
I love your 'Oh My Stars'! I've been wanting to make one for a while now. I don't buy many precuts but I do have two same Charm Square packages in my very small stash. I'll have to find some coordinating fabric first. I also love your small border matching the binding idea. I think I'll have to use that sometime. My favourite season is summer so please don't tell me it's fall already! :) There's officially three more weeks of summer left! Looking forward to your upcoming sew along. I think I like the surprise element. It makes it more fun!
Fall is tomorrow, we'll not really. Lol 😁 I know what you mean. To me it seams the days get shorter quicker than they get longer. Sometimes less sunlight is hard on me. You have a blessed day! 💋
I love your ideas about the stars quilt! Taking a picture never occurred to me. I'm sewing a quilt for a new great nephew entirely in charm pack squares
I have learnt the hard way to always place the colours and display it to see whether it looks good before piecing it together.you do it all the time Pat.Come back to it and then see if it gives you joy..also make it your own.We are the boss of our quilt.Thankyou for always replying to my emails.xx
Hi Pat...Before Covid, 2 neighbors and I frequently sewed together. We often took our quilt blocks back and forth to each others houses. We found that a flannel backed vinyl tablecloth ($3-4 @ Walmart) was great when we got to the design wall portion. We'd put our blocks on it, then roll it up to take back and forth. That might be an option for when you need your wall for other things. We could unroll it and pin to a wall, open on the floor, or on a bed when needed. I hope that helps. I love tuning in first thing in the morning. Oh, and I too feel like Aug is the end of summer. Happy September. I hope we have some cooler weather.
brilliant. Likr knowing what the block is called. I love the oh my stars pattern. And the design wall really helps. I am so looking forward to the cooler weather. And the end of the month is always a big event. A new month is a new beginning.
Thanks for the advice on using a "holiday" pattern for other uses. Unless it is pictorial, just changing the colors makes a totally different feel. I think your flimsy came out great, I love the look of a color coordinated scrap quilt.
Looking forward to "Happy Everything" project. As I will likely be sewing from stash, knowing which blocks from book (which I already purchased) would make planning easier. 😁
I have discovered that I am not fond of surprises when quilting. I’ve made some time consuming (ripping out) and expensive (abandoning projects) mistakes with color and print usage in mystery quilts. So, personally, I like information at the beginning of a project. Thank you for asking.
How about a vote for your favorite QAL? You put out 3 of your previous block patterns and take a poll. Post the winning pattern and then you can focus on your book while still leaving it kind of a mystery for everyone.
Today I gave up my apartment of 16 years... All furniture dishes treasures are gone ... But I did save majority of my quilting supplies... May September be start of a better adventure
Pat, you could provide both layouts. In one, have the name of the blocks and the other one without block names. That way, if a person did not want to know, they can pass on downloading that version.
Hi Pat. This may have been asked before...can you tell us how you did the zig zag boarder for your Bats and Boos. I really like how you have finished it. It's bootiful!
I like the mystery myself. The OMS ⭐️ is looking great! I'm still playing catch up with other projects so won't start mine for a few weeks. I'm off to LA to visit my daughter next week so apologize if I miss any daylies
In Row 6, you might want to separate the 2 Santa squares a little more. Even though they aren't right next to each other, they jump out to me. Just a suggestion.
I would like to know the name of the quilt blocks…I am not versed on the various block names…..love your morning videos…a great way to get the day started…thank you !!!!!
i saw one of your quilts a halloween twister i was wondering for sure what the book title was, the link below didnt work anymore. i really like it, i hope you get this i know post is old. thank you for every thing you do
Question about your zigzag border which I absolutely love!!! Are those HSTs 4.5" unfinished? I would like to try that border on my B and B quilt too. Tx for all the inspiration!
When i made this quilt i really struggled with placement because of color and pattern. I wound up putting the same color around every star in the quilt. Not so happy with that either. Wish i could share the pic here.
Soon as I got my first look, your stars really popped, so that's success! Pat, PLEASE be careful on the ladder when you move your quilt blocks on the design wall. Your wrists must be getting nervous at the thought of you on a ladder. Can Greg do it instead?
I don’t think the two yards that the smaller quilt calls for for the backing is right. I got 2.25 yards and it wasn’t enough for the 41.5 x 50.5. There wasn’t enough overage for me to pin baste it sufficiently. How do I cut the 2 yards and piece to make it work?

I think because September is so linked to going back to school makes it feel like the summer is over.
Really like the layout of your oh my stars. Great job.
Pat, you have such a lovely positive energy! The end of Aug makes me a bit sad as it marks the end of Summer in Canada, where I'm from. Thank you for sharing your expertise and this video!
Love how your bats and boos quilt turned out. Just beautiful!!!
Catching up, Bats & Boos = Perfection! I like the fat binding effect, especially for the reason you mention, it keeps all the seams in check.
That blue quilt is lovely! 😍

I loved the Oh My Stars pattern! I cut up some stash and stitches a low volume baby boy quilt last night! What a quick win! Fabulous as always!

I would like to see the layout with the block design so I can plan my colors.
I love your Oh My Stars quilt, finally printed it. You have so many great ideas, thank you.
I like the mystery part. Sometimes my colors don't always turn out 100%, but that's okay. Thanks for tips on Oh My Stars.
I put together my first Oh My Stars quilt top . Used squares that have been hanging around not knowing what to do. Came out very nice. Mindy (my cat) and I spend our lunch time with you every day. love your videos. Am also keeping up the summer soiree.

The spa is going to be busy for you! The blue quilt makes me happy every time I see it!
row three and four from the bottom has two dark blocks together. love this quilt.
Great tip on a small border with the same fabric as the binding. Love your bats and boos quilt!

I like the idea of knowing part of the sew along and the other part a mystery. :)
Hi Pat. In South Africa, August is the end of winter ❄️. 1 September is officially spring day for us.
I like the idea of posting both versions, especially for those who are using scraps. Thanks for all your instructions. They are very helpful.
Love all your things. I enjoy the way you think about it all. I’m learning so much. Thank you. I like the idea of surprise. So I won’t over think things. Lol
I like to know the blocks to help with color placement.
@Pat Sloan
A lot of people love it to be an actual mystery they find it really exciting; and those of us who like to see the whole project before we start sewing can simple wait to start.
I love your Oh My Stars pattern! I can't wait to make one in Christmas fabrics now!

Thanks for the tips 👍

I enjoy it when it’s total mystery. Listing block in the layout would be fine with me!
I would like to see the name of the block Pat. Love the Oh My stars pattern.

It cracks me up every time I hear you mention the spa!

I think exactly like you when it comes to Aug. 31 - so funny!

I like the stars it helps break it up a bit 👍👏🥰🤩🇦🇺

@Robin Escotto I've used a tablecloth like that several times to take blocks back & forth to sew days! They work wonders :)
brilliant. Likr knowing what the block is called. I love the oh my stars pattern. And the design wall really helps. I am so looking forward to the cooler weather. And the end of the month is always a big event. A new month is a new beginning.
Wow, I love that twisty quilt!
Thanks for the advice on using a "holiday" pattern for other uses. Unless it is pictorial, just changing the colors makes a totally different feel. I think your flimsy came out great, I love the look of a color coordinated scrap quilt.
I loved your tips on the Oh My Stars quilt. Very helpful. Thank you!
I’m the same way about the same pattern in different colors not touching any way, even corner to corner. 🤣
I would like you to put the name of each in the layout. Less surprise to this upcoming one!
Looking forward to "Happy Everything" project. As I will likely be sewing from stash, knowing which blocks from book (which I already purchased) would make planning easier. 😁
I like the mystery. It helps me with pacing. I get a block done, then I know I have the rest of the week "free" to work on other projects.
Have you given us a hint on what your next book is? If so, I missed it. Would love to know ❤️
It has quilts 🥳 that's the only hint I ever give for books ❤️
I have discovered that I am not fond of surprises when quilting. I’ve made some time consuming (ripping out) and expensive (abandoning projects) mistakes with color and print usage in mystery quilts. So, personally, I like information at the beginning of a project. Thank you for asking.
I’d have to agree with your comments about surprises in quilting Susan!
Good morning Par! Really love the Bats and Boos

I would like to see the layout with the Names listed :)
Stay safe Pat♥️♥️
Love the border!

It seams like the more you change the more you change....I di what I like and then that's good!
I love your bags and boos in jealous
I'd love to know...

Thank you
I definitely want block names on the layout please.
Keep mystery in the Holiday sew along, plz.
pat you have two blacks together towards the bottom
I always enjoy being surprised so leaving out the block name would be my choice.
Pat, I notice on the right bottom you have a black square next to a dark green. On Oh My Stars.
Will you do the orange and black twist please and a mistory quilt. Please
it's in my book, link is under my video
I see two pink Santa fabrics in the second row. Can one of those be moved elsewhere in the layout? It keeps drawing my eye.
If they are not next to each other then I'm, not concerned, The ones I see are far enough apart for me
The last day of August brings hope for a little cooler weather the end of October, but increased worry about hurricanes.
Soon as I got my first look, your stars really popped, so that's success! Pat, PLEASE be careful on the ladder when you move your quilt blocks on the design wall. Your wrists must be getting nervous at the thought of you on a ladder. Can Greg do it instead?
What pattern is the blue flimsy quilt? I missed that

Hi, i like the basket at the end of the video! I could replace instead of my wicker basket. I didn't see the pattern in the discription box
It’s in her most recent book…..
@@rayandkathybussieres495 thanks! I'll put the book on my wish list
Very cute top. Can you share where it’s from
thanks!! Kohls
I prefer to know the name of the block that goes in an asymmetrical pattern. Be Well
