Thank you for the great and honest review, also nice music. Nice to know the wheelspin in accelerating and the unstable steering wheel on uneven roads. Chademo charger stations are less populated in my area. And the air cooling battery... Hmmm...
started the autobahn with 95Km in the odometer and with 330Km of range. drove at top speed till 155Km in the odometer and the range drop to 150Km... it would be interesting to see a 100Km/h test.
Best part is spinning the tyres without stability control. Wet road and making a tight turn and then hit the pedal to the floor. Goes to 120/240(due to differential) and instant smoke. Don't know why but then I feel like I'm 6 again.
I tested the old 24kwh leaf and the 40kwh , the extra 30kw of power wasn’t noticeable due to the extra weight in the 40. The 64 probably has the best power weight, with some sticky tyres on it would be quick. Does it have sport mode so you have full torque low down?
It's a front wheel drive - all EVs with FWD tend to spin the tires, if you accelerate briskly. The other thing you may notice with FWD EVs, is they limit the torque if you have the steering turned very much, to avoid too much abuse of the CV (constant velocity) joints.
@@BatteryLife I think the lower power motor is part of it, and the differences in hearing, and how they design the software to control torque? Our Chevy Bolt EV has a 150kW motor, and has front wheel drive - and it can spin the tires! The e-Golf is less spin-happy, but still can do it; especially in the wet.
Interesting that when researching the "frogeye" leaf in the past all "pro" car reviewers didnt seem to mention the lack of stability/torque steer. Even with this last(?) iteration after 10 years development I cant recall anyone else mentioning this even today? I sometimes wonder if that if a reviewer doesnt give a good review that they wont get press cars? I hope not but I wonder. I guess what I am saying is thanks for the honesty most reviews are worthless because they are not.
Great music in your videos lately!!
Geiles Video! Actually cool music, driving and all important running values - Nice one! Cheers!

Great video, I look forward to your Taycan sports drive. 👍

I want to experiment with some grippier tires, should make a big difference.

You have eco mode, where power is reduced ;)

and I don't like it. Ioniq and Zoe did not. But only 100 kW motor.

does the normal 40kwh leaf have the same electric motor of the 62kwh?
No, 110 kW
Evs make ecowarriors drive like maniacs. Cars used to bore me until I drove an EV. Then it was like "NOW I understand..."
Are you going to try the MG 5 E ?
Not in Germany yet. We are just getting the MG ZS EV right now. I am on a waiting list for it.
Results?
No results. Just driving.
Still aircooled battery?
Yes.
This car, if it had solid-state batteries with much longer autonomy, would reach 230 km/h
do you enjoy it more than your I.D ?
No. But it is more dramatic
People - if it's not snowy or icy, never ever use winter tires. They'll kill you.
Winter tires are not just for snow and ice! The rubber mix is designed to give grip and safety for cold temperatures
2015 Leaf torque steer is awful, but its an old car design.

Fwd is always bad. You will always have that wheelspin and friction in the steering wheel. That's never good. Rwd or awd is always the best 👍
Wish it were RWD.
218hp 160kmh top speed 😂😂😂
