Thanks. You knew exactly what I needed before I needed it. For a 53-year-old it will never cease to amaze me that I can look up whatever wherever. It would have saved a lot of arguments. I don't bother anymore. Look it up yourself! I painted watercolor outlines of some hyacinths, yesterday, and needed a refresher before I filled in the blossoms and leaves with pen. Thanks for being here. 😁 It was supposed to be a lilac, but art is recovering from your mistakes, right? So my hyacinth has upside-down heart-shaped leaves... I wasn't sure if it worked with the wrong Ieaves so I asked my husband if he could identify the flower with just the outlines. When I said hyacinths, he looked at them again, squinted and then said, "I have no idea what a hyacinth is, so, yeah this looks exactly like something that I don't know what it is." 🤦I need to get someone else to be my critique pal. 🤣
I'm blown away by the Ranunculus and Magnolia sketches! The dimension/depth of the Ranunculus with that somewhat flat appearing crown was so on-spot! Thank you for sharing this tutorial :)
Spring to me is the sight of snow drops , then lentin rose , trillium followed by grape hyacinth, crocus , tulips, daffodils and finally hyacinths. I would like your tutorial on any of these ; ) Your tutorials have my sketching after years of art neglect, thank you
The comments contain excellent ideas for flower subjects; I would love to see any and all. Also, I love that you narrate your videos with info about the flowers and your techniques.
Love your videos and expertise. I like when you SWITCH to a close up to compensate for using pencil initially as well as the detail you add. I've learned so much from your videos, thank you!!! 💜
I really appreciate your detailed explanations of both the plant/flower and your technique. That it accompanies a demonstration is extremely useful. If you're looking for other flowers to demonstrate in future, may I throw peonies into the mix (unless you've done so and I'm so new I haven't seen that yet)? Thanks.
I really appreciate how you make the drawing of tricky flowers like hyacinths and ranunculi achievable! The scent of jasmine tea is divine. I'd love to see you would draw or paint jasmine! And daffodils, sweet peas or camellias. 😊💕
Kashmiri tea also called Pink tea, it's made by brewing kahmiri tea leaves with cinnamon, cardamom, annise stars and some sodium bicarbonate for oxidation. It's the most dreamy tea ever, i make in bulk so i can drink for a few days from it as the process is quite lengthy.
I just planted 10 ranunculus bulbs. Hopefully, it grows. My fav teas are Bravissimo and Jasmine tea from Lupicia, and love your drawing and handwriting.
I really love watching these video's of yours and I must say you have really got me addicted and hooked on these botanical illustration I just can't stop myself from drawing these beautiful flowers and it is sooooo calming and fun to do just love all thanks to you for sharing your amazing talent with us lots of love from India Mumbai 🥰😘❤️
Such pretty flowers! So whimsical and magical. You are absolutely the best at drawing everything!!! I drink iced tea year round. Not much for hot tea but I can drink it on a cold day! Happy Day when you upload a video. Hugs!🤗🌷🦜🦋💕🌿🌸🐥🐰 PS - Any flowers you choose is always fun. I loved your wildflowers in the past. Maybe some more wildflowers with a bird. Hellebore flowers would be pretty too. Surprise us! 🌸🌷🌼🌺. Oh and Morning Glories on the vine climbing up a tree stump would be beautiful. I love all flowers and everything you draw!
@@ShaydaCampbell since you love jasmine tea you should try the jasmine blooming tea... Its so pretty to look at and tastes delicious. I'm planning to draw a Jasmine flower and show that tea in one of my following videos. :)
Yep, taking out my sketchbook to try these beautiful flowers. Your tutorials are so good! I appreciate that you tell us where to place the shading and more especially WHY you are placing them where you do. Love your personality and how positive you are. Just signed up for your Patreon page and I am enjoying even more amazing content! Thanks!!
You're so kind! I'm so glad that you're finding inspiration in my videos! There will be a worksheet about how to draw these florals released on patreon soon ❤️
@@seth1393 The pencil drawing is supposed to be a rough drawing while she is teaching the method of drawing the flowers easier. The pencil lines are lighter so that it doesn't leave any pencil marks and make the final product messy. But yeah, she could've positioned the camera closer and adjusted the lighting so that we can see the art better.
Builder's tea is my favourite. My needs are simple!! You can't beat the cuppa you get in your own house. Typical Irish woman - addicted to builder's tea. Also, would love to see you do a carnation. They were my mom's favourite flower. My favourite is the Orchid. Beautiful. #emailsquad
I'd like to see you draw a hydrangea... I guess it will be like the hyacinth with lots of little flowers...I like a blend of Russian Caravan tea & Nerada tea :)....love your drawings
Question. Do you need to store micron pens horizontally? And I work mostly on watercolor paper and I find that wears down the felt point of those pens.
Hi Shayda , Thank you so much for your Iris demonstration. I was feeling frustrated, not comprehending the structure of the flower. Thank you for your simplicity . Nathalie
Although drawing should be light, for the sake of your videos, it might be beneficial to draw darker. (Although the inking step took care of that. Alternatively, maybe just show the inking portion. Hope this is helpful. Great illustrations!
I can't draw at all, but your video really inspired me to try! I'll have to get a sketchbook :D My favorite teas are peppermint, lemon balm and oolong.
Hyacinths are my favorite flower!! Thank you!!! edit: hyacinths have six petals, three larger, wider ones, and three things ones, just cause you mentioned that you didn't know the number of petals :D

Try rotating the page more or even drawing upside down! Or if you can start from the right of the page and work left. I just moved from Halifax back to Ontario last spring!
I don't understand what you don't understand really.. :) She use the pen after pencil so you can see clearly what happens.. If you can't see, then imagine.. if you try to make it will not be the same with hers anyway.. make this work better than a copy.. (this is her purpose/goal i guess..at least i became better with her instructions even if i dont see the pencil at all) Well done Shayda!!!!!!
Love these flower lessons! Daylily, caladiums, and ginger would be great. Can you tell I live in the South? Please keep up the good work, I am learning so much from your channel.
Hello Shayda, i love your drawings and always try to folliw you as you do it step by step. But the pencil sketches are just not visible with the current camera positioning. Is there any way you could focus that more clearly. If i can get the pencil sketch right then it kinda gives me confidence to go over it in pen. Lotsa luv, Nandini
