- Introducing the Carolina Herrera New York Summer 2021 Collection.
Notes from Creative Director Wes Gordon: “Fashion is healing for the soul. Its freeing and it can make you feel powerful. The women I design for seek beauty in all its forms and this collection is our gift to them.
When I first started to think about this collection and sketch, it was very emotional. It was in between lockdown and the gradual reopening of our atelier. Every time I came in to the city, to the garment district, to our offices to work with the team, it felt like falling in love with fashion all over again.
Fashion is a way to celebrate the beauty of special moments, and making ordinary moments extraordinary. And right now, I want each piece to be unmistakably Herrera. Colors more saturated. Volumes even more voluminous. Tailoring at its most feminine. Sleeves more dramatic. Polka dots always. Embroideries more luminous.
I wanted to create a collection that is a reflection of this moment in our lives, through the prism of optimism, color, and celebration of the women that have been part of the fabric of Carolina Herrera.
We believe in beauty. We believe in dreams. We believe the antidote to darkness is light. And we believe fashion is magical.”

This collection brings hope, so needed now. We will be wearing these dresses in Spring Summer 2021, in joy and in health. Thank you Wes Gordon, thanks Mrs. Herrera for doing what you do.

No diversity at all...they are all skinny skinny......why do these so called designers not open their eyes and see very very few women are this size, most women don’t starve themselves
@@susansaxon4780 There's a basic size that they produce for runways so they won't have to measure anyone I get the argument but it is efficient, they still sell bigger sizes though at least some do.

So much 90´s glam in this, feels so dreamy and nostalgic, like a reminder of when life was much more simple and yet sophisticated, so inspirational or maybe is just the Carolina Herrera effect.

I simply love the way how house of Herrera plays with the patterns, is like they are lighted connected. Of course we need to mention how creatively are incorporated the basic white shirts. I loved this.

I watch fashion channel and other fashion channels and the majority I of all of the models are white. It was happy to see a major designer take a stand in the fashion world. Women of all color should be represented because we all buy fashionable clothing.
@@gwendolynestrada3017 Women of all colors yes, not 99 % one race only. You don't fight discrimination by discriminating and runways were diverse in the 1980's and 90's, it was only in the 00's starting with Prada that you had this white wave that lasted till 2010's. I want real diversity, not "reverse" discrimination.
@@cheong728 there were Indian or Middle Eastern and I think Hispanic models too and the colors of this collection pop on warmer skin tones. Let's be honest if there was only one non-white model you wouldn't care
@@no.reply_ Yes I would care if there was only one non white model. I want real diversity and discrimination against any race ( including white people ) is equally wrong. And these clothes are for all skin tones, so I'm sure there are versions of this for cool skin tones. It's just business sense.

Beautiful clothes. I love that the models are wearing flat shoes too. I am a bit sick of shoes so high even models fall over in them on a catwalk Let women walk gracefully and comfortably through the world.
This was just STUNNING and MAGICAL!!! The models are exquisite and graceful. The clothes!!! I was in tears at the beauty of some of them... That long floral dress with the shimmer.... WOW!!!
I really like the fact almost all models are wearing flats. It makes it look like the elegance all of us can recreate.

I love how lady like each piece is...the juxtaposition of black and white. The different play on textures but still keeping to flattering shapes...the beginning with the fan bodices were playful and flirty...love love love🥰

Nice collection, very wearable. She knows who her woman is. The model choices were great, they were all so beautiful and the diversity 👌🏾 Only thing negative is that there wasn’t anything new that I hadn’t already seen before being fabric choice or garment silhouette. Finally, a designer who believes in design over outre shock value. Every piece was attractive, feminine, and wearable. This collection is the only one I've seen where every item of clothing would appeal to most women rather than a brave few.
Bravo for this collection. All models had this whimsical aura and many of them were channeling the Sade look from Smooth Operator. A huge plus, all your models of color were heaven on earth. Carolina Herrera is known for feminine luxe beautiful clothes. In the same breath, she is also known for prints, bold and bright colors...somehow I was left hungry for color!
It's been a long time since I've seen anything from Carolina Herrera that I liked but this collection is beautiful, love it.
