    Oh, thank you, I quit a project two years ago, with burnout and didn't understand that it destroyed my confidence.
    Yesterday, my partner asked me something in my field, and I answered with clear steps and a clear "Map". When I saw his eyes sparkling, I understood that my confidence was destroyed.
    I will watch all your videos, thank you for sharing this knowledge, I will update and work on my dear confidence.

      @@DenizSasal Yeah, Im quite new with Project management and ive been going through your videos. Im in a non-profit organization which does consultancy projects and district development plan research.
      In these research projects, it seems that it is most of the time dependant on stakeholder's availability, and scope creep has been apparent in 1-2 projects which i have so far managed.
      Is there a particular methodology that you can recommend which can help me? Been using the waterfall methodology but i found it abit too rigid and it doesnt give flexibility in the schedules but it's more or less how the bosses likes it to be done. Even the WBS has been tough to manage. Hope to get some advice from you on this predicament. Thanks Deniz.

    Hi Deniz, Can you explain how to handle the "I'm the client, it's my choice" mindset that comes when you say no to scope creep requests?

    • @DenizSasal
      @DenizSasal  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      oh that's a good one! Not sure I had the best approach in my career. I used to fight the client. I somehow felt my ability to deliver the project within the scope; quality, schedule, and budget was more important than maintaining great relationships with the client. As I am older and calmer now, I realize that it wasn't the best approach. I think there is a middle way there.

    • @amirbenrabah8603
      @amirbenrabah8603 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi @aishajackson50,
      My advice would be to have early discussions about changes on the project around the constraints of introducing scope creep during a project. They are right that as the client and probably the project sponsor "it's their choice", and our role as PMs is to deliver what they want within the agreed and documented scope and project charter at the Quality they requested. Hence, if they want any change there will inevitably be impact on Cost, and Schedule, and if those 2 don't offer much flexibility then Quality will be impacted and potentially they won't get the results/outcome they hoped for. In the end, it's never a good idea to pit us vs the client, and reminding them that we are there to work not only for them but also with them and the reasons why we stand our ground is to deliver the Quality we sold them within the Budget, Schedule we promised.

      Haha! First day was fine but second day, I experienced ego death. For about 3 hours or so I felt like a cockroach played by a human before being squashed - and I did get squashed! It was quite interesting after ego death, though. Anyway, it's done and dusted - hopefully I'll never need it again.
