Thank you Ayari!! So glad you enjoyed how slow and calm it was - I was worried it needed to all be a bit snappier but I think that’s probably just from spending too much time on instagram and watching reels!

Thank you Amari, In the mid 70’s when I was about 23, I took creative stitchery classes with a women named Rachael Fox.Most of the women were older and very creative. They were doing 3 dimensional pieces of bark or mushrooms. I was fascinated! One of the things that or teacher stressed was to stitch over your mistakes.
Thank you for creating The Fabled Thread.

Happy to discover your channel. I’m 86 and have been embroidering since I was 6. I am also a quilter , knitter, crafter . So many other crafts, but always come back to sewing. Made several crazy quits. I love your approach to creating original designs and adding to beautiful decorative frames. Very refreshing work .. love your attitude.

Lovely conversation topic. I agree with all you said. Right now, I’m so anxious (I live in the US, ‘nuff said!), too anxious to even sit still and stitch! I’m going to try to make something larger, bulkier or less precise so maybe I can handle it from this position, because I miss it and it’s a lose-lose if I can’t even do it!! Also I live in a community with other makers, maybe I’ll offer to show them this video and create our own makers circle time each week or so. Companions help!! ❤

I had planned to do something else while listening to you, but I totally ended up watching the meditative repetitiveness of your sewing and the 24 minutes flew by. Beautiful design! 🧡 About building a creative habit, telling yourself you'll spend just a few minutes of creativity is a great way to trick your brain into creative work. The first step to start is usually the hardest bit. But when you tell your brain not to worry, cause it will only be a couple of minutes, then usually it's like "okay, I can handle that".
When I trick myself into a couple of minutes of drawing or painting, most of the time after a while I realise a couple of hours have passed and I totally ignored the pomodoro timer I set for taking healthy breaks. Of course some days nothing helps and I'll end up staring at a blank sheet for a long time without any result. And whenever that happens it's fine too, no need to be mad about it. But a lot of the times tricking my brain in this way does help with getting started.

Hi Eppie, I stumbled across your YouRube channel a while ago and I absolutely love it. I have done very little embroidery throughout my life, but have done a lot of cross stitch. I am however addicted to patchwork and find that I am doing an ever increasing amount of hand piecing lately. So even though I don’t embroider, your videos still ring a chord with me and when you are working on your embroidery, I am working on my patchwork. I have watched this video through twice already and agree with everything you said, although as I am now retired, I am fortunate enough to spend hours stitching if I want to.
