Thank you. I’m 55 and will be opening my first solo exhibition this week. All kinds of doubts and insecurities women our age have about Showing Up. We have been taught to please others and it’s very hard work to show up as ourselves. ❤
Thank you! I am 76. I have suffered from Imposter syndrome to the point I no longer feel I can call myself an artist even though I have a degree in art and was a graphic designer for many years. I am trying to overcome this and your advice has been invaluable! Thank you so much! I admire you more than I can say. ❤ Shirley
Thank you for this encouragement. I am a self taught artist who only started when I was 59. Now at 76 I've been through several different phases of my art journey. There were the oil paintings which I loved making but then I moved to a tiny studio apartment and the odors became too much. Switch up to Acrylics and then fluid art or some call it paint pouring. Well that was terrific fun and I became quite good at it but unless you;re using lots of resin and other things that turn nice paint pours into spectacular creations; no one really wants to purchase something they perceive as "easy". In a funk and lacking a proper studio; I discovered paper crafts and started making art journals and Junk Journals which actually sold word of mouth. Then I jjust stopped. Haven't done a thing in a year but recently acquired space for a proper studio. I'm getting the itch to paint, create, and maybe make am etsy shop. I've always thought I'm just too old to make videos. You're giving me courage to maybe try.
what a wonderful video and so recognizable what you say about Instagram all those beautiful people there. In the beginning I became very insecure but now I am increasingly able to let go of this. Daring to follow my own path is something I really learn from you-tube and people like you who inspire and encourage. Thank you ❤
I'm feeling so grateful that TH-cam put you before me this morning, as I needed to hear ALL of this! I'm so excited to have found your channel and look forward to following your journey. 🥰
53 here and just finished my first art festival this past weekend here in Louisville Kentucky. Exhausted and grateful❤ Your video it’s the synchronicity I needed to show me it’s time to do my part in empowering others also! You’re doing it woman! Thank you for being you and putting yourself out there “being the light” for others. I would love to connect with you you truly are inspiring 🙏❤
This uh? GRANDMA MOSES ( Eastern U.S.) was in her 80's when her Art Journey came out back in the last Century!!🌹👏👏😊! Cheers and I really needed to hear this message at the *young* age of 69!! WhooHooo!!!🎉🎉🙋🏻♀️💝
Hi Paula, this video was what I just needed in this moment. I’m 49 and also an artist with a YT channel. Every single time I have to upload a video, I feel what you said: that maybe I’m too old for this. I’m still finding my footing on this platform and trying to be myself, but it’s not easy. I guess the only thing that can help is keep showing up, and not give up. Subscribed!💙
Thanks so much! You’re definitely not too old and there’s plenty of people who would love to see more from you. Try not to get overwhelmed or over think and just go for it 💫
Hi Paula, thanks for your interesting video. I am now approaching 70 years old and about to retire from my full time job. I have been doing art for about 2 years now, as a colour pencil and ink artist. I will be doing art in my retirement, drawing animals and have just bought a professional A3 printer, a marquee, table etc. and plan to attend many art and craft fairs, dog show etc. to sell my work. I also have a second you tube channel, the first one has featured my walking videos for many years, hence my name, muddy underfoot, and the second one that I have just started will feature my artist journey. So no doubts in my mind, age is not important, as you say, just be yourself. Many thanks. Alan in Norfolk
Hi Paula! I’m 71 & finally living my dream of painting full time. I always promised myself that when I retired I would paint again. I need to get more visibility online to sell my paintings & hope you can answer a few questions. How did you learn all the technical stuff, like how to record your classes, what equipment you use, how to upload videos to TH-cam, etc. I’d love it if you could give me a primer or the resources you found to get started.
Hi Laurie, thank you for your lovely message. Honestly I’m not naturally tech inclined I found out most things by search on YT & watching a lot of videos on various ‘how to’s’ then I would tray and do what I could whilst watching and then pausing the videos to do implement the changes. Perhaps this is something I need to focus on for another video 🤔 All the best 🤍✨
The first thing I need to do is clean up the studio space after a long hiatus. 😂 I'm in my 50s and I paint, print, and do textile art. I've started illustrating a picture book that I wrote years ago to upload to Kindle kdp, but it's still not finished... Thank you for your encouragement 💖from Australia xx 🇦🇺🦘
Thank you & I completely get the messy studio scenario 😅 Love that you’re working on an illustrated book. Have you thought about sharing that process? 🤔 All the best with it, Paula ✨
I’m 65, been an artist of some kind for 20 years and only painting for about a year and a half. I have finally found my artistic stride and I’m very proud and confident of what I can do. Being told by a 20 something that I have to do social media is one thing, I get the necessity, but I’m running into ageism and condescension from that same age group in the online world. It’s all a dismissive sarcastic “okay boomer“ attitude in so many instances. It’s been off putting to say the least. Your channel is just what I needed to hear. I’m a new subscriber. I’m going to continue to be my fiercely authentic self and just wait for these young puppies to catch the hell up.
I found your video really uplifting. You have a soothing and compassionate voice, both physically and philosophically. Authenticity is key to most aspects of life, but especially for the creative process. Thanks for sharing.
I am hearing you, liking you and subscribing to you! I am 67 and just beginning my art journey. Yes, I too compared my work to everyone else's on Instagram - not anymore. I paint every day because it makes me smile and is good for my heart & soul. Thank you for your words of encouragement and sharing your creations with us all!
I like that you’re being your authentic self. I am 70 and an artist. Age is merely gathered time and can be an asset because the older we are the more we have to share in beauty and wisdom. It’s a beautiful gift from God, so keep learning and sharing your art gift! ❤️
I'm 34 and saw yt for a long time a place for learning but the teachers were so far away above my level, so I always thought that yt just wasn't for me. It's just now that I realise that I could have been doing it. I have the knowledge on how to since I finished school. Now I'm pulling myselfe together and working to start a bussines and a yt. I'm super afraid but I know deep down that I can totaly manage it and make it. All the awesome artist that I admire are just people, so why can't I do the same! I'm an illustrator, multimedia designer and mom of two little ones and I totaly have much to offer and teach. The more I watch videos like yours the more my confidence rises. So thank you for sharing it!❤
You can completely do it! Go for it, you have skills that others would love to learn about, take small consistent steps & watch how you grow. All the best Paula ✨
I want to make a note to those commenting that young artists aren't really artists. An artist is an artist because they make art, not for any other reason. They're art may not be to your liking or may not be commercial or profitable but that does mean they are not artists, it means they are not "successful" (in the terms of financial) artists and nothing more. Please do not be a gatekeeper to expression via artistic means. People need expression and should not be called names or told they are not real artists for expressing themselves. Art is art even if you don't like it, if you don't like the style, the content, the quality, etc.. it's just not meant for you. Much love and good luck to all of you! Thank you for the video! I very much enjoyed it.❤
You’re welcome, glad you enjoyed the video! Although I haven’t seen comments on here about calling younger artists names. As you said an artist is an artist no matter what and should be celebrated 💫
I was painting and drawing occasionally but decided to really focus on it and to have fun. I say that I'm self-taught but I don't even know if I am, I just always knew how to do it and it's time for me to stop neglecting this gift. 😊 Not planning to sell but started making videos here and really enjoy the process. New subscriber here to follow you on your journey 😊❤
Ahh! I’m 69 and paint FOR MYSELF! My daughter’s village magazine has a different painting of mine each month, that is the bravest way I’ve put my work ‘out there’!
I loved hearing what you said, and even more so seeing in the comments that I am (we are) not alone! Wow. So many of us are dealing with the same frustrations and insecurities. I’ve been quiet on my channel but trying to regain my confidence. This has been very inspiring, thank you!
I needed to hear this. I am 46. Sometimes I get into a rut trying to figure out what people want from me as far as what I create. But, I appreciate when people are authentic and show a little bit of themselves. I think seeing who others are helps us to connect with ourselves. I also like content creators like that.
I just subscribed. I am most impressed with what you’re doing and the encouragement you give for Artist ongoing and for the wannabe artist. I’m 79. I know my heart belongs around art I’ve had a gallery in my past and I have a ton of supplies I think your video gave me much more encouragement to pull my supplies out and get going. Thank you so much and blessings.
I love your thoughts on showing up authentically Paula…I agree wholeheartedly! I’ve had a YT channel for several years and mostly enjoy showing up to show what I work on in my studio each week…though have been thinking of possibly giving up as I just can’t and don’t want to compete with all the other more polished artists who show up here. So happy I came upon you this morning…what an inspiration to be sure! Thank you for telling it like it is, how it can be…and just being you! Thank you, thank you!🙏🏻🌠🧡
Thanks for this reminder. I was reconsidering everything I have planned for my upcoming art channel over the weekend and you have bought everything back into focus. Thank you!
Hi lady, thank you for your content. Im 46 years old, and you inspire me. Im creating art since I was a little girl. I even have my own graphic design studio. But I dont put out work for myself, always creating art for other people. So I feel that it is time, to show the world who I am. Thank you, keep it pushing. I will follow you
Hold on !!!! I am 77… just began to learn watercolor 15 yrs ago…now photography…spend three months a yr in Argentina at millongas where we tango the days away…💕💕💕💕💕💕
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on this. ❤ You are so right - now that I have listened to your warm voice speaking your wisdom I can connect your (wonderful, gentle, loving) paintings to you and see your beautiful soul for what it is. This alone is very moving and heartwarming. For me, this is a big gift you gave me right when I needed it the most. Now there is more understanding in this world, as if you sowed seeds of understanding and self acceptance you gave yourself and shared this with the rest of us.🎉 I am abstract artist in my beginnings. Nervous to show my work online or even say I am an artist but I will not permit my nervousness to prevent me from succeeding one day. 😊 I hope for you to succeed in a way you wish for! Best of luck
Such beautiful kind words…thank you, I appreciate them so much! Keep on showing up for yourself and I wish you all the very best in your creative pursuits xx
Gosh, it's like you read my mind. As a 50 odd person (odd in multiple ways), illustrator, I have been thinking about this a lot and for quite some time. Not daring to give it a go, but intrigued by the idea nevertheless. You said it perfectly, all the things that are holding me back. Thank you for sharing your story and vulnerability, Paula! New subscriber here, for showing up just as you are.
Thanks so much. I think there’s been a real lack of people in our age demographic so now is a great time to start, as scary as it might seem. Just start small and see how you get on. All the best Paula
@@paulamcgurdy thank you so much for the encouragement Paula! One of the biggest hurdles, is seeing and hearing myself on film. I'm much more comfortable behind the camera than in front of it, like probably most of us. I love how you were doing the voice over while we could see you working. That was quite soothing to watch. Best wishes, Wen
As another person said... I am so grateful for this video this morning 😊 Celebrated being 50 this year. Hard to believe. Have created all my life. Had written off having much of an online presence. Being homebound... That is tricky 😂 Soooo.... Thank you for the encouragement! Also... The Apron... Is fantastic, and you are an adorable human!
Paula, thanks for this very meaningful video. Really appreciate it. For reference I'm 67. I find it so challenging to be on social media at all (I'm there to follow my adult children and grandchildren, and to sell on Etsy) much less 'promote' my work/my self. It is reassuring to hear from others who are experiencing this challenge. Digital marketing is the reality we are living now. Yet for a lot of us who came up well before the ubiquity of social media the constant self reference is genuinely off putting and cringy, making it a real hurdle to just step up and participate. It normalizes this process to hear from you and others who are also navigating this venture. ...by the way, your's is a lovely, calm presentation.
Hello Paula, I’ve painted ever since I could grasp a brush or hold a pencil. It was my way of communicating and expressing myself. In the past I would get to the point of sharing my artwork, even sell a piece here or there then get imposter syndrome and pack up and put that part of me away. Who am I to be doing this, I’d say to myself. I’d be afraid to show up, be myself, be vulnerable. It was a pattern on repeat . I moved to a new town, went to an art group. Everyone was doing these pretty paintings of local scenes from photos and here I am just getting into it painting what came out , colour, texture, feeling. The others weren’t quite sure of what to make of me. I felt so uncomfortable and inadequate I never went back🙄 I have such a strong urge to pick up a brush again and just -be me! so thank you for your video! Subscribed ❤ Linda NZ
Hi Paula, this video showed up in my feed today and I was intrigued by the title, so I watched it. I don’t have an online presence as I didn’t have a good experience with selling on Etsy. You have given me something to think about. I’m in my mid-60’s now and maybe I’m not too old to try again with a different approach. Thank you for the insight! I’ve subscribed to see more of your artwork and I wish you the best with your online path!
Thank you! Yes Etsy is not a guaranteed route to selling your art and personally I feel not the right space for original artwork. In person art fairs can be really good. All the best with it 💫
Thank you for showing up & more importantly being your authentic self. Its your secret weapon. Your beautiful lilting accent, whilst narrating so soothing. God bless you & keep creating.❤🎨🎯
I am encouraged to begin showing my behind the scenes by watching this video. Thank you. I haven't started my TH-cam channel yet, but when I do, I know it's because your story influenced me, and I wanted you to know that, too. Thank you.
Interesting thoughts! First, I thought that I am dealing with the biggest handicap an artist can have, and that is - whether you believe it or not, and yes, you read that right - I'm one of those weirdos who aren't into abstracts art. I condemned myself to paint pictures of things you can actually recognize! I know - that's pretty low these days and no art gallery wants this stuff. So I told myself - I'm going to try abstract, I need to do some stuff people will actually buy. And you know what? The minute I made that decision, I lost all my drive to paint. That's when I realized that the only way to make great art is when you don't care what's popular but, just like you said - be true to yourself. And it's true, as an artist who does representative art, you're pretty unique these days. And I'm going to stand behind it and do EXACTLY what my heart tells me to paint. And I'm loving it!
Salaams (Peace Be Upon You) our sister. I'm now 60 and just started painting 2 yrs ago. Thank you for the reminder of life's journey as being experience driven etc. 😂❤
You hit the nail on the head for me with this post lol! I’ve so shied away from being live for exactly all the reasons you mentioned. I will try it. Thank you 🙏
Paula This is perfect. I am 68 and many friends keep asking me when I will share my work period and make it available. I haven't done it yet. Yep, fear...and also still unpacking the very off putting narratives about what is 'good' art. I am pushing myself to at least sketch every day as I build my confidence. Part of that process is researching other artist who are over coming their barriers that have kept them from doing what brings them joy and sharing. Thank you for this timely vlog. Cheers.
Thank you for these reminders to live fearlessly. New sub here, will look forward to seeing more of your videos. I am working with another senior on putting together a simple web site to promote my artwork. It is helping both of us stay on our game 😊
What you are saying is totally true with one addition. The real self has to be pleasant or appealing in some way to others. Often, preyoutube celebrities try to do live streams and such, giving unpresedated access to their personalities, only to find the audience at large finds their real, unfiltered selves to be problematic and unsupportable. Your success comes from your genuineness and watchabilty. I realize that I am completely unappealing as a person and that sharing what I do would not connect to anyone I would care to. I am clear about that and fine with it. I still do what I do in force and document the process on antisocial media, just a blog with a handful of followers for the last 18 years.
Thank you for the video…so encouraging! I’m in my late 40s and have recently had a chance to get back into my art! I just started my TH-cam channel on October 20 and had my first video where I shared my artwork and a little bit of my process. I was very nervous but I really enjoyed it ☺️❤️! Bless you!
56 and just recently decided to get back into art. I’m not thinking of being a professional per se but maybe illustrating children’s books in a few years. Your video is inspiring.☺️
I ❤️ this. Something I've begun doing in my own channel is showing the beauty of God's creation in my adventures that inspire my paintings 🎨 so thank you
Hi , Thank you so much for your inspiration. I really needed to hear this. I've been afraid for way to long. Now I will certainly consider my possibilities. Thank you.
Just found this video, I'm 59 and thank you - food for thought for sure to banish the doubt, let go of the fear, and enjoy the creative world that is my world.
Thank you for your input, it's so motivating advice on us who's at the age bracket 50s, by the way happy watching here from Philippines. I really enjoyed knowing your mindset.
Hello Paula! I’m an artist in my 30s basically just getting started.. I needed to hear this more than l’you know.. I am just starting to post and it is hard. Your video was a great reminder that I should just show my authentic self.. Thank you!
This was good. Thank you for the encouragement. I’m a 68 yr old artist who is just starting my art practice and it’s an exciting time for me but I am definitely social media challenged. 😊
I know how you feel and I’m shy, an Artist but I work a full-time job! It will be scary for me to start a youtube channel along with starting my business at 49! Thanks for the inspiration of being yourself!😊🙏🏾
Totally resonated with me! I appreciate so much everything you say, it is in part how I have felt at times, I really needed to hear your words. Thank you 🙏 ❤
sometimes we have to do what works for us too many don't, straight away.. I resonated with your approach talking while doing my art doesn't work for me not really.. as im not really me I struggle to produce my best art with an audience.. but we can find ways, like you do that shows our process and we share what feels good for us and the right people find it. meeting the artist in person at a fair gallery wherever, is always good too, Good for you !
Thank you for sharing Paula - this really resonates. I've been on instagram since 2011 and have made some nice connections there however I do think I'm very reserved and hesitant on what I share in that space. I'd like to get a youtube channel going to share my work and process - I'll put some focus on it but I do think I need to approach it without much expectation of outcome ;-)
I am in the middle of renovations, wrapping a degree/cert, and a declutter. Art is mostly to be a sketchbook and prepping 3D pieces to paint for the next couple years of the layoffs-pandemic-grad school adventure that started in my 50s. I'm starting with some pieces for an art/subject matter blog.
You are an inspiration to me and so many others, 55 you are so right I'm so nervous ,the world has changed so much ,we carry so much as it was so different when we were young ,we weren't the kids who were self we were part of a community, uv put things into perspective and probably helped so many of us start to show ...I'm still working on it lol getting the camera to show what iv pointed it at will help n video editing error before iv started there is so much but thankyou ❤
Absolutely love your video. Great inspiration and support for even someone like myself, who has treated her art as a hobby but really wants to dive in, even tho I'm over 60. Thank you for the inspiration!
I'm 52 and I am the old school type person, This new age of tech is not my thing. As an artist I prefer hands on face to face interaction. There are some good things about today's tech however I believe people are craving that connection. I am still learning on self confidence and what I want my art to express, I'm somewhat of a introvert, It's mainly me and my art and God. I'm still learning as I move forward and your video has given my a different outlook on how to deal with social media. Thanks and God bless.
I am 78 and thrilled at this wonderful video. I have painted since I was 6.
Glad you like it 💫
I am 78, I cannot keep up with sales and orders.
Be different, be the best, be exceptional.
Hi Paula loved your video I will be posting my videos in two weeks I’m 56 and nervous but you make me feel better thank you so much 😊I’m an artist too
Great to hear this! Starting can be the hardest part, once you do that there’s no stopping you! 👍
Good luck! You already have a new subscriber!😊

I love this! I think are is first and foremost for yourself and the expansion that brings. Welcome and thanks for being here, Paula ✨
Ahh! I’m 69 and paint FOR MYSELF!
My daughter’s village magazine has a different painting of mine each month, that is the bravest way I’ve put my work ‘out there’!
Well done! 👏
I loved hearing what you said, and even more so seeing in the comments that I am (we are) not alone! Wow. So many of us are dealing with the same frustrations and insecurities. I’ve been quiet on my channel but trying to regain my confidence. This has been very inspiring, thank you!
So glad to hear this & agree so many are in the same boat. Glad it was an encouragement to you! 💫
I needed to hear this. I am 46. Sometimes I get into a rut trying to figure out what people want from me as far as what I create. But, I appreciate when people are authentic and show a little bit of themselves. I think seeing who others are helps us to connect with ourselves. I also like content creators like that.
Glad it resonated with you! Create with what lights you up 💫
I just subscribed.
Happy to be an encouragement to getting those are supplies out. Thanks for following along and all the best with your creative pursuits 💫
Thank you, thank you!🙏🏻🌠🧡
Thanks so much for your kind words. I think just being yourself is key, keep going with it. All the best x
Thank you Paula - as an emerging artist at 57, you have just silenced that little voice of doubt in my head - thank you again.
So glad to hear this, all the best with your creative pursuits 💫
Thanks for this reminder. I was reconsidering everything I have planned for my upcoming art channel over the weekend and you have bought everything back into focus. Thank you!
So glad you found it helpful ✨
Hi lady, thank you for your content. Im 46 years old, and you inspire me. Im creating art since I was a little girl. I even have my own graphic design studio. But I dont put out work for myself, always creating art for other people. So I feel that it is time, to show the world who I am. Thank you, keep it pushing. I will follow you
You’re so welcome Jennefer! Great to hear this, Keep going💫
Hold on !!!! I am 77… just began to learn watercolor 15 yrs ago…now photography…spend three months a yr in Argentina at millongas where we tango the days away…💕💕💕💕💕💕
Thanks for sharing!
Now there is more understanding in this world, as if you sowed seeds of understanding and self acceptance you gave yourself and shared this with the rest of us.🎉
I am abstract artist in my beginnings. Nervous to show my work online or even say I am an artist but I will not permit my nervousness to prevent me from succeeding one day. 😊
I hope for you to succeed in a way you wish for! Best of luck
Such beautiful kind words…thank you, I appreciate them so much! Keep on showing up for yourself and I wish you all the very best in your creative pursuits xx
@@paulamcgurdy Thank you. :)
I am so grateful for this video this morning 😊
Celebrated being 50 this year. Hard to believe. Have created all my life. Had written off having much of an online presence.
Being homebound... That is tricky 😂
Soooo....
Thank you for the encouragement!
Also... The Apron... Is fantastic, and you are an adorable human!
Small steps in the right direction! 😉 Thanks for your kind words ✨
Thank you so much! It’s a journey that’s for sure. All the best with your creative pursuits x
Beautiful pallet ❤ & an encouraging message. Thank you
Thank you. You’re so welcome
Hello Paula,
I’ve painted ever since I could grasp a brush or hold a pencil.
I felt so uncomfortable and inadequate I never went back🙄
I have such a strong urge to pick up a brush again and just -be me! so thank you for your video!
Subscribed ❤

Oh Linda, go for it, sounds like those paints are calling you to make what you feel. 🥰💫
All the best with it 💫
An important message. Nice video.
You’re welcome, appreciate your kind words ✨
Thanks for the chat Paula. I enjoyed it x
Glad you did, thank you!
3 am and I find myself listening to your wisdom. Thank you, I need to hear this. Subscribed and will be watching more soon
You're so welcome, glad to hear it was an encouragement to you!
Thank you Paula,I am 60 years old and I’m about to publish my art on social medias …I’m terrified but your words comforted me…Thank you🙏
Thank you. I’m a big believer growth is in the discomfort. Good for you, keep going 💫
" From music people accept pure emotions, but from art they demand explanation " . I agree with this statement by Agnes Martin .
💯
Love this video too! One thing I’m going to do is talk about encouraging more artists in their senior years to show up online
You’re welcome! Go for it 👏
Thank you for showing up & more importantly being your authentic self. Its your secret weapon. Your beautiful lilting accent, whilst narrating so soothing. God bless you & keep creating.❤🎨🎯
You too & thank you for your kind words 😊
Loved this Paula. Thanks for sharing.
You are so welcome! So glad it resonated 😊
I am encouraged to begin showing my behind the scenes by watching this video. Thank you. I haven't started my TH-cam channel yet, but when I do, I know it's because your story influenced me, and I wanted you to know that, too. Thank you.
That's so lovely to hear, you can totaly do it! Thank you x
Absolutely create what you love, it has to be first and foremost what you feel resonates with you & then the rest will follow. 💫
Salaams (Peace Be Upon You) our sister. I'm now 60 and just started painting 2 yrs ago. Thank you for the reminder of life's journey as being experience driven etc. 😂❤
Keep going 😊✨
You hit the nail on the head for me with this post lol! I’ve so shied away from being live for exactly all the reasons you mentioned. I will try it. Thank you 🙏
Go for it! 👍
Wonderful advice! Love the format of this video too. Very refreshing. Thank you for sharing this!
You’re so welcome! 😊
I had my first gallery show recently and a collector called the gallery during the preshow and bought all ten of my pieces. Great video I subbed!
That’s incredible…congratulations! You’re doing it 👏👏
Paula This is perfect. Cheers.
Sounds very promising for you! I have another video tomorrow with tips about confidence in showing up you might find interesting. 😊
Thank you for the validation about authenticity. All the best to you!
Thank you
Thanks for the inspiration yes we need to hear this !!!!!!
Thank you for watching, glad it resonated 😊
Thank you for these reminders to live fearlessly. New sub here, will look forward to seeing more of your videos. I am working with another senior on putting together a simple web site to promote my artwork. It is helping both of us stay on our game 😊
Well done 👍
Bless you!
That’s brilliant, well done & keep going! 👏👏
@@paulamcgurdythank you!
I liked your video Paula and your approach. I subscribed. Fellow aging and still very inspired artist. Keep doing YOU!

56 and just recently decided to get back into art. I’m not thinking of being a professional per se but maybe illustrating children’s books in a few years. Your video is inspiring.☺️
Love this for you! 💫
Oh, I just found your channel. Your work is beautiful! Love hearing your thoughts on this. So relatable!
Thank you so much for your kind words! Glad to have you along this journey 😊
I ❤️ this. Something I've begun doing in my own channel is showing the beauty of God's creation in my adventures that inspire my paintings 🎨 so thank you
That’s beautiful 💫
Hi , Thank you so much for your inspiration.
I really needed to hear this. I've been afraid for way to long.
Now I will certainly consider my possibilities.
Thank you.
Best of luck!

Just found this video, I'm 59 and thank you - food for thought for sure to banish the doubt, let go of the fear, and enjoy the creative world that is my world.
Absolutely! All the best ✨
Thank you for your input, it's so motivating advice on us who's at the age bracket 50s, by the way happy watching here from Philippines. I really enjoyed knowing your mindset.
Hello to the Philippines from Ireland! Happy to hear this, thank you!
Thank you for this thoughtful and encouraging content. You have no idea how helpful it is!
You’re so welcome glad it resonated ✨
Hi Paula, thanks so much I'm glad I found your channel. Just being you has made me keep watching. I need to learn this too.
You are so welcome! 🙏
Hello Paula! I’m an artist in my 30s basically just getting started.. I needed to hear this more than l’you know.. I am just starting to post and it is hard. Your video was a great reminder that I should just show my authentic self..
Thank you!
I'm so glad it resonated 💫
I’m 40 plus but I look older than you. Thank you for sharing and being an inspiration to make art and videos about it.
Thank you, I really appreciate that!
Paula you are such a breath o fresh air love your message 🎉
This was good. Thank you for the encouragement. I’m a 68 yr old artist who is just starting my art practice and it’s an exciting time for me but I am definitely social media challenged. 😊
You are so welcome!
I know how you feel and I’m shy, an Artist but I work a full-time job! It will be scary for me to start a youtube channel along with starting my business at 49! Thanks for the inspiration of being yourself!😊🙏🏾
You're so welcome! I think it's the fear that had put me off for a long time. You have to do what's right for you, all the best 💫
Totally resonated with me! I appreciate so much everything you say, it is in part how I have felt at times, I really needed to hear your words. Thank you 🙏 ❤
You’re so welcome, glad you found it insightful 😊
Thank you! I’m attempting to start recording part of my story. I love the authentic you. ❤
Brilliant, do it! 👏👏
sometimes we have to do what works for us too many don't, straight away..
Thank you ☺️
I’m 55, and Thank for being inspirational, it helps me with my own channel!
Thanks for your kind words ✨
@@paulamcgurdy by the way I love your art. Beautiful!
@@Freakymum1645 Thank you 😊✨
Thank you for sharing Paula - this really resonates. I've been on instagram since 2011 and have made some nice connections there however I do think I'm very reserved and hesitant on what I share in that space. I'd like to get a youtube channel going to share my work and process - I'll put some focus on it but I do think I need to approach it without much expectation of outcome ;-)
Thank you! I think there’s also a balance in what to put out and like what you say about expectations. Start small and see how you get on ✨
Very authentic and genuine video. Love it!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! 😊
That’s great to hear! Enjoy the process
Cheers! I needed to hear this today 😎
You’re welcome ☺️
Needed to hear this today. Thank you 💕

Thank you so much for this . I will go out there some day soon . I am 58 and multi talented.
Thank you 🙏
Thank you, such a great message!
Glad you liked it!
Thank you!
Absolutely love your video. Great inspiration and support for even someone like myself, who has treated her art as a hobby but really wants to dive in, even tho I'm over 60. Thank you for the inspiration!
You’re so welcome, go for it! 💫
I like the fact you use pink a lot , the are lovely the ones on the wall ❤

I am 67...I think lol...i just loved your fresh and genuine approach
Oh thank you! 🤩
Wow! Thank you so much for your video. I truly need to show up more… but I’m always stressing about my age
I completely understand this, although I truly think it’s a strength now, lots more over 40’s making TH-cam content. Go for it! 💫
Thank you & understand the perspective from a fellow introvert. All the best with your creativity ✨
