    Thanks for the heads up about the exposure settings flaws with it being handled directly on the printer. If I bought this printer it seems you would have to stick with one resin to avoid the hassle of changing settings.

    • @HobbyistLife
      @HobbyistLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They will fix that in the next firmware, it will be possible to change settings on both Creality box and Lychee, and for those who like the settings on the printer, they will allow that too.

    Two weeks ago I got information about a new mono LCD that is manufactured by DuoBond. A 8.9 inch 6K screen with 35 microns XY resolution (same as Mars 3 and Mini 4K). It would be interesting if Creality would upgrade the Halot Sky with this one. Apart from that I'm waiting for the next generation of mid size printers now. Better pixel density has to be it.

    • @HobbyistLife
      @HobbyistLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm in contact with a manufacturer also who is working on 6k and 8k printers. Soon the market will be flooded of those too. It would be great if Halot sky could support screen upgrades because the printer is top notch

    Hi, did you noticed differences between your prints which are in the center and the one which are near the edge. On the halot one model which has similar light source, i have noticeable differences. Prints in the center are more cured than the one in the edge.

    • @HobbyistLife
      @HobbyistLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Didn't notice any difference, the light is completely equal, I saw a video of a guy measuring the light intensity using a device and for the sky is completely even, no matter where he measured it.

      @@HobbyistLife Thanks for your answer. I am fairly new to 3d printing. I didn't really understand the settings you gave me. On the screen of my halot sky I see bottom exposure, Light of delay, exposure time, bottom lifting distance, motor speed and leveling height. I'm trying to find information about what each setting does and what the best numbers would be. The names of the settings on the halot sky screen are not the same as those in the other slicers and that confuses me a bit. Maybe you can make a video explaining. There is not much content on the halot sky. Thanks

    Great review! I'm planning on buying this model. I got question about wash&cure, do you have one? If so, what model would you recommend for this big printer?

    • @HobbyistLife
      @HobbyistLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, it's an amazing printer! You will not regret. On the wash and cure, I have the Anycubic Wash and cure PLUS, bought it recently and I'm loving it. I had the Mercury Plus from elegoo, but it's small for the type of prints you produce with this printer. Take a look at the Elegoo Mercury plus, also very good.

    • @blakes223
      @blakes223 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HobbyistLife Thanks for the quick reply. Is Anycubic PLUS big enough to fit whole model with the plate attached? Or do you have to remove the model first?

    • @HobbyistLife
      @HobbyistLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@blakes223 the entire build can go inside that thing haha it's massive, more than 8.5L of liquid... So yes. I normally remove the model because I make a pre wash on a less clean alcohol before, to make the alcohol on the wash and cure last longer. But that's me, I think majority of people just throw the entire build plate inside the wash and cure. Since I use 99% IPA and that thing is expensive, I try to make it last longer.

    Red wax is on its way, would you be willing to share your settings for the Halot Sky printer? I have the updated firmware 2.2.19

    • @HobbyistLife
      @HobbyistLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did not print with Red Wax yet my friend, I'm using M70 and Longer Deep Peach on those prints. Red wax it's a fast resin, different from M70, you can try 2s at 0.05 and I think it's safe to start, print an Ameralabs city calibration and see if it will print fine and with good details, all the squares in good shape and 4th row of pillars fine. you can adjust from there for more or less exposure. Good luck!

  • @bryanharris7768
    @bryanharris7768 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Can I ask how you would compare the Resione M70 to the 3D Red Wax?

    • @HobbyistLife
      @HobbyistLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Both are very good resins for detail, I think red wax is easier to work with, so in general I recommend it over M70.

    This machine is arriving at my house tomorrow. Please advise my on where i should place this because of the toxic fumes i read about. Can i place this in my home office? Should i place it in a shed? Could this be placed inside a washing room with the washing machine? And close the door, filter the sun as much as possible?

    • @HobbyistLife
      @HobbyistLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you can use it in your home office if you have a ventilated room and you avoid print while in the room. Or ir can be in the washing room if you have the space or a basement or something like that. Just be careful with temperature, if it's a place with very low temperature (below 20 Celsius) you will have problems to have successfull prints because resin do not work well in low temperature. it's a fantastic printer, you will have a very good time using it.

    • @HobbyistLife
      @HobbyistLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@technov1king The stinks depends on the resin you're using, I strongly recommend you use esun eresin PLA Pro it's a plant based resin, this is one of the resins with less odor I had the chance to work with, I print in my office and do not have a problem with it, but you can try others to see if you do not have access to it. The Resione M58 also is a very low odor resin. This printer has a carbon filter integrated which helps with the smell, but you can also buy a separated carbon filter to reinforce. Please check my videos about the carbon filter and the esun resin.

    Does any FDM 3D printer offer quality similar to MSLA ?

    • @HobbyistLife
      @HobbyistLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think so, I think for big models you can get a decent quality, but for smaller models no. When I started 3d printing, I started with an FDM delta printer trying to print 32mm models, it's simply not possible to get very good results. The minimum layer height I could print was 0.1 and with lots of adjustments to the nozzle, in resin printing the standard is 0.05, huge difference.

    How long it takes to change LCD

    • @HobbyistLife
      @HobbyistLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, all companies with mono screen printers they state that screens last for around 2000hs, this mean 2000h of actual UV light on not printing time. What I can say from my experience is that I never had to change any of my mono printers in more than a year using them a lot, so I believe it's really 2k hours or more.

    The quality of the print you show it’s amazing. It’s difficult to compare based on TH-cam videos, but this printer seems to print with much better detail than some of his counterparts. I’ve found an offer from a german shop that advertise this printer for 570€, and i’m looking for a mid size 3d printer. Can you advice me if is it worth to pull the trigger on this?

    • @HobbyistLife
      @HobbyistLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey man, is it Cafago right? I bought an Anycubic wash and cure plus there, it's a very good price, did not arrive yet, hope it arrives :), I don't know this store. I saw this price there the other day and I think it's a steal this printer for this price, I totally advise it, it's one of the best printers I had the chance to put my hands on. The hardware is solid and they're improving on the software side, so go for it. For this price you will not find anything better, the normal price for this printer is around 750-1k.
