Hey Gemma, Great job on the tomatoes with pruning. Your plot does look very nice and organized as a garden can look in July. I do hope you are having some opportunities to look over the plot and enjoy all you have done knowing you have a family and other responsibilities that prevent you from gardening 10 hours a day. Anyway you did have a fabulous smile today and I know that means a lot to many of the folks watching. Positive inspiration. Cya next thyme, Steven
Hi Steven 👋 Thank You im pleased with how everything is going 😊 I took the children down to the plot today and it's looking great, we did get to enjoy the plot with a cold drink and a snack which was nice. Thank You for your support! Gemma 😀
Thank you Gem for all the amazing videos. Having taken on my first ever allotment 3 weeks ago, I have now watched each video, gathering so many ideas along the way.
Hi Colin, Congratulations on your new allotment. How are you getting on so far? Thank you for supporting my channel and watching 😀 hope you're having a great weekend!
@@GemInTheGarden It was a jungle when we took it on, but the bones are there. I inherited a greenhouse which I am excited about. Purchased a grapevine after seeing yours! I'm in North East England so your videos will work nicely for forcing on what I should be thinking about doing/trying out! Keep up the great work
Oh Gemma the rhubarb are looking fantastic. Your patience has paid off! I finally was able to harvest our garlic and now know how to do it do will plant more again in the fall as I can never have enough garlic. Keep up the great work.
Hi Wanda 👋 I'm so pleased with the rhubarb, I went down there today and they are really looking great 👍 I will be doing more garlic too as we are the same, you can never have enough!
Hi Allie and Tricia, mine did that last year they took ages! Thus year they seem to be faster so some reason! Oh yes the mini poly is in need of a good trim and stake, hopefuly will get it done tomorrow! 😀 Have a fab weekend!
That one day of rain on Thursday was really cold and had to have the heating on! So glad we got the water butts filled up and treated! Good job on maintaining the plot Gemma!
Pruned again 🤦♀️ it’s never ending 😂. I gave up on my outdoor plants it was too not for a week to get out much so they took over. Yep in the UK not the year of the dragon but the year of the slug 🐌. Again we may get rain Tuesday it who knows. Have a wonderful weekend Gem, stay dry, Ali 🌞🇨🇦
Wont be long before those Tomatoes start to ripen, mine are just starting to change colour. Keep the feed going in (I'm sure you do) and they'll soon be ready.
@@GemInTheGarden What do you feed them with out of Interest. I've been using Blood, Fish and Bone so far but will start using Organic seaweed feed as the Toms Ripen.
I use any liquid tomato feed such as tomatorite, once a week on a Friday. I do put some blood fish and bone in when planting too. I don't really use seaweed but I think I will try it 👍
Looks great Gemma 👍 I have the same issue with my tomato bush plants want to thin out so that the energy goes to the fruit but if I do then the plant collapses under its own weight of fruit. Thank you for sharing.🐞🌻🌱
Thank god for a polytunnel ….bit rain and always plenty to do in there…. Yes and the tomatoes..you can stake them/tie them up and next thing you know they’ve grown a few inches lol… and the smell of tomatoes is summer …actually ate my first one yesterday…MATINA… sweet with a bit tang

I really like the flowers, but also the whole plant is edible, they make great ground cover to stop weeds and they are a bit of a sacrificial plant too as lots of pests like them! 👍
Love the sound of the rain ❤
Me too!

@@GemInTheGarden It Smells a bit Ripe but supposed to be the 'thing' to use now.
I've heard good things so will definitely try it 👍
Gemma on rainy days where would we be without our Polly Tunnels
Exactly Ned!

Hi Jane, 👋 I have left the tomatoes and they seem to be doing OK so I'm just going to let them do their thing 😀 hope you're having a great weekend 😊

Matina, not hear of that one, I will take a look for that amd might try it next year!
Pruning tomatoes is one of my least favourite jobs. All those green fingers haha! Great update gemma. Danny 🌱
Same! That's why my mini polytunnel is still like a jungle 😅😅

Yes I totally agree, polytunnels are great any weather bit especially when it's raining 🌧 as you can keep dry and still get a lot done!
Why do you grow many Nasturtium plants? Is there any benefit to the allotment or do you just love the colours?
