- Recorded October 10 1997 at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC.......with Koko Taylor, Keb Mo, Buddy Guy, and Gregg Allman with interviews from Keith Richards........just the creme of the crop here folks.....backed by G.E. Smith along with Barry Goldberg and Charlie Musselwhite etc etc.....nice jam with everyone at the end (except Keb Mo for some reason)
Almighty God, may Your blessings be upon every family. Fill their homes with harmony, love, and understanding, fostering a nurturing and supportive environment for all.

What a music 🎶💕 ..I'm dreaming
What a night of red hot Muddy Waters Blues 👍👍👍👏👏👏💯💯💯
My oldest sister lo love ed ko ko Taylor I never got to see her live I was on a journey
Would love to see the whole show. Koko is a powerhouse, and Buddy one of the most smile-inducing guitar players and singers on the planet. I just can't help grinning with him. G.E. Smith, as always, lays a perfect foundation for the guests to shine.
A great tribute they play so well together
I loved Koko Taylor! I saw her a few times. One of my fave performances was with her and Buddy Guy at Red Rocks in Colorado. The best!
Koko îs a powerhouse True!
Damn, Damn, Damn. How were these people put together for this performance? Had the PRIVILEGE of seeing many of these performers years ago. And Muddy too. Thank you very much.
Смотрю из будущего . Не хочу знать интриги. Но то что происходит на сцене ! Это ..........!!!!
I worked for Muddy Loved it
❤Great blessing for the celebration of Muddy Waters😂❤❤
Sooooo soooo good! Koko ! What a soulful powerhouse! And Buddy ❤️🎸 is a true gift to us all! You do Muddy justice! Everyone is amazing in this tribute.. thanks to y’all ❤️🎶🎸🥁
Watched this when it originally aired on PBS. Since this time, many of the musicians here have passed on.
The best performances are ones like this you get the feeling that he’s not just playing a guitar he’s expressing his soul
And taking you along for the ride. It’s the holy Grail of musicians. And when it happens it’s very special. GE Smith knew it was happening and was smart enough to stay out of the way.
Great people enjoying great music. Why can't it be that way now!!!!!
Because bad taste has taken over. We’re lost.
A blessing to all you great blues guitarist to the spread of the day and time 🎸🎵🎸🎸🎸🎵🎶🎸🎸🎸🎸🎵🎶🎶🎶🎵
Simply Awsome performances....the talent, sound and the music just appropriate then and still appropriate to this day and into the future!! Great sounds!
Just wow! Thanks for the upload! Liked the show overall. Sad for the person who decided to feature Robert Lockwood Jr. in the back line at the end, while giving Keb' Mo (no disrespect) two numbers. Lockwood was a fine singer and an influential guitarist who (in '97) could've sang a verse or turned up that electric 12-string for a solo that would kill!
Oh man how I miss Greg Allman. Nobody better!
Mr. Buddy Guy makes that thing talk and sing 💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼🌹🌹🌹❤️❤️
Muddy Waters.King of a lot of things...😎
Great blues videos oh man this is awesome man I love these videos I love this I love you too I love this man this is great music 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
Watch this weekly - miss you Muddy - you was the MAN!
Amazing, very very blues 💪💪💪💪❤️🌹
My heart vibre what wonderful music i cant stop dancing
I had the pleasure of seeing Buddy Guy (and a few of these friends) live at Look Park in Northampton, MA around this time, when they were touring locally. It was -- wait for it! my FIRST experience hearing blues never mind by these kinds of legends, and I will never forget... It opened me up to a new world of 🎶 I had never really listened to and I was hooked! Saw him once or twice after that, I believe a concert for his 80th birthday; not sure if he's performing anymore but I really hope he's still alive and kicking! 👏👏😁🔥❤️
Saw Buddy at Red Rock Co. Mmmmm.
He's doing a tour this spring 2023.
30 min.of chill bumps and smiles listening to this
Thank you God brings back the days of my Father's God you blessed me with more father's down here on earth And I thank you God for the love from my mother's because God you know I was hated by woman's in my family but God Protect me and I had to take care of many of the old folks that had a hard time coming here to California we live never been hungry a day in there life but didn't care but I know the ones up in Heaven living in Peace and Prayers and God let them be my Angels with him to Protect me from a little girl I was taught about God things happen to me to hurt both of us I was leaving here to go to college in the South where my mother's other People's lives and one of her sister and uncle color sends all his children's to college but two they didn't want to go they did other works but she when Home to be with the Lord that change my whole life but God always send some one that was good to me and Love my Children's I had Shawn and Joshua then but God covers me and my Children's and my Father but I rather end this I love God for so many reasons to keep me from doing something I would regret they wanted me to Lose my mind but God is with me know this you grow every day of your life to know God right when you're heart harded couldn't feel so he worked with you I'm thankful💝💝💝🎈

Now this is real music I love black man blues I love the white man blues 🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎸🎶🎸🎶🎵 I love the blues and the reason why I love the blues because it touches my inner soul it revives me I can relate to the blues 🎵🎶🎸🎵🎶🎵🎸🎵🎶
All things must pass, and yet they live on...
Great blues and love the passion!
super, just super cool, the few really fantastic things i love about America are their great musicians
Nice “Trouble no more” from Greg Allman 🎶❤️
Hendrix, Clapton, many others acknowledged their debt to Buddy Guy who showed them how to milk a guitar for more than the guitar nor anyone else knew it contained. Guy is all we've got left in 2020 of the mid-past century blues greats.
And next in the vid we have Muddy playing Mick for about all that could reasonably have been gotten out of him, the man-child.
Suddenly, yes. Lv this sooo much.
God Bless the Blues. 👼 child.
@@judithmcdonald2838 Yea,the
Blues. Love it too. Thank's again.
Wow!! What a concert on TH-cam!!! I love it!! 🎶💖🎶👍💖🎶
Yesss Ma'am I'm ready
Sing it Coco now that's the blues if I've ever heard it you go girl
I take my waters muddy. Playing dirty and fussing for a fight we let the blues ignite.... wolfen howling my way through the early morning, lightening strikes without a warning. Fireball my burning soul, let me be hypnotized by blue ice, rolling into sunrise.... rollin...

Love ❤ this fantastic tribute with all the entertainers who sang for Muddy Waters 💖💎🥰 This just can’t be beat & I have loved the Blues since I was a young girl it just pulls you in & sends music & lyrics into the atmosphere and takes you away 😻🇨🇦💎🎸❤️🩹
Absolument génial
At 16:40 after delivering a monster solo, Buddy Guy asks G.E. Smith (himself an excellent guitarist) if he wants to get in on some of the action, and G.E. is like, "No! I don't want any part of havin' to follow that act". Great mutual respect there.
That is respect!

Yea Gregg Allman of the Allman Brothers band their music was considered southern rock blues they were the best you can bet you are a music heaven right now as we speak Greg you're in music heaven right now as we speak as well RIP guys 🎸🎶🎵🎸🎶🎵🎸🎶🎵🎵🎶🎸🎶🎸
Johnny Winter should have been in this, and there had to be some conflict, or he would have, because Johnny and Muddy were tight. It might be as simple as a record company not allowing it. I swear I heard Johnny yell, just like he did playing with Muddy during this song!
You are right Johnny Winter should have been there.
Johnny produced a couple of Muddy's records and they shared the stage many times. He should have been there.
Maybe he was touring somewhere else...It IS not always so easy
Un pur moment de bonheur , souvenir de notre tendre et folle jeunesse. Thanks.
I can't wait to hear 🌊 from you.
Fans who enjoy this show and want to know the essence of Muddy should find a way to get the album "Muddy Waters Rare and Unissued." Peace all.

From Bowie to Saturday Night Live GE Smith goes real hard💥🎸
GE Smith is so underrated. This guy can play with anyone an complement what they are doing!
maybe, but he has been hired by the best (clapton, dylan, etc.) as band leader and that says even more. I met him in a guitar store on 48th st. 30 years ago. great guy as well as a great talent.
Excellent Share - Thoroughly Enjoyed Viewing - Thanks Much! Peace & Blessings Symone
Gregg Allman great voice my all time favorite
Awesome lineup, great songs!
I love them all! My heart's in the blues. That's a good thang!
Indeed
KoKo Taylor said her family use to share crop and at the end of the year her father would get paid in food. when she left home she had very little money but I guest Willie Dixon had heard her sang because he woke her up in the middle of the night and told come on and sang this song because we got to pluck this chicken while the water is hot. For all of you that don't know what that mean ( it right now ) she made the record Wang Dang Doodle and the rest is history !!!!
B.B. King grew up on a share crop farm in Mississippi. He said they were like one big family and that the same was true when his descendants were slaves. Heard him say it with own ears around 2008.
Great guitar as usual by Buddy Guy, our last left link living to the great blues artists who died off in the later 20th century. And this is followed by Muddy Waters babysitting Mick Jagger.

Keb Mo can hold his own against most any other old against any other old school blues player you can name
