Omg Ben! I thought you were great a few years back, but still, you can clearly tell how much poractice you've still put over these years, it feels like everything you play recently is a lot fresher
Wow, this is the second video I've seen bout this little thing and it rocks. It seems to me like a great tool for miking up the drums for a smaller gig in a bar or something similar, and even for some demo track recordings.
seems like it would be best used in conjunction with an overhead mic, then mixing the EAD effects with the acoustic drums. That's how I've been using it and I love the meatiness of it, especially because I play a cocktail kit.
I did some reading but I'm not quite sure.. it's a microphone so essentially its picking up your actual kit and slapping effects on it. Feel free to correct me.
That's what I thought as well, and It sound like it for sure, especially on the cymbals. It would have been great, If they had let us hear it with a completely different kit with different cymbals and see if it actuall, makes a difference. I'm really curious about it.
It may work with the bass drum (since the main bass drum sound is off the trigger), but I think it'd struggle with the quiet kit since the sounds it has to start with are, well... from the quiet kit ;)
correct - tried it yesterday with silent strokes and L80s - OK for practice, but still sounds like the silent stroke heads and not your real drums. Triggers would work but obviously more $ to lay out.
Would have been better if they included triggers for the toms and a deadicated overhead mic ... apart from that it's pretty good (toms and cymbal get lost a bit)
that is actually the point... you really don't need a dedicated overhead... and you can adjust that level... it's pretty amazing that you really don't need 'an overhead'...I've been fortunate enough to play with one... it's shocking actually!
Great video and sweet drumming! Question about the app - at the 6 minute mark it says "you can set the level of the track, click, and drums in the app" - are you talking about the levels of the drums you're playing/recording, or the level of the drums in the track you're playing to?
Haha they were on the kit I jumped on at Yamaha. Although I play Sabian and for me they just suit what I'm looking for, I'll always maintain that everyone makes quality gear in their high end ranges, it's just personal preference
The audio in this video does not do the EAD Justice! I have the EAD and it is amazing! Our sound man doesn’t have to do anything to my drums anymore! I control the entire mix and how I want them to sound. I have a DW Design Series mini-Pro, and this thing makes it sound HUGE! I love it and there’s a lot of creative possibilities with it!
To be honest, the camera audio is too good to appreciate the ead
I use this for small bar gigs and mic up the kick only and bypass the kick trigger
This stuff does look promising! Both as a monitoring and sound enhancement tool. Thanks for a glance - look forward to seeing more from you! Cheers!
That's CRAZY! I can't believe how good it sounds with such a small device!
Great demo of great new technology by a great drummer! Salute. C.

Ah dude thank you!
Great video! The EAD-10 is a very unique product. I'll be interested to see how it sells
cool guitar riffs at the end

Great idea
Would that work with silentstroke heads and Zildjian L80 cymbals?

No I think it needs the sound of real drums from what I saw. It does take triggers though, which would work.

Ben, How well do you think it would work with other noise on stage? Or is that not the point? Interesting stuff!
james yates Yeah i’d love to know about its live application
I think this is best used in a studio / practice situation vs live. Still very impressive for what it's designed for
No doubt, very cool stuff. Thanks for the reply. J

I MUST have one!!
Holy fuck this is awesome
Some crazy stuff goin‘ on there 😃
Not only is the product awesome but I could also tell it brought out a different side of your playing which I thought was really cool to see! 👍
Yeah totally! Thanks for watching!
These things are amazing! Thanks man for doing this I appreciate you brother 🤟

There are additional triggers you can purchase for the toms and snare
basically like an effects pedal for your drums :v
Nice vid man
Excelent video, What camera do you use ?
Le Future! 🤖🤘
I start the video and immediately thought of The Darkness - Southern trains, then you talk of delays and cancellations.. i just died lol
Is it really useful for recording studio? Let me know pls
Hello I have a hard time choosing between ETA 10 or Sabian sound kit
I understand the application of this.
Thought the camera audio sounded better though honestly. Was that just a dslr built in microphone? lol
Are you using silent stroke mesh on this kit ? Thanks for your answer ;)

How does it feel to be playing zildjians? ;)
And Yamaha
Christoph Schneider and that xD
Remo too, for that matter!😭
for that batter *ba dum tss*

Great stuff! Was good to pop in & say hi 👍
Great to meet you man!
it can be conneccted with USB to PC and how it will work? like soundcard or what? can i work in sequensor with ymaha ead10
how do the camera audio and EAD-10 blend without post processing? no latency issues?
Nice
nice camera
Cool and all, but the actual drums sound way better
I was thinking the same thing.
Fair enough, I think it's a really useful addition for certain situations. They are lovely drums though!

Arena is all I want. I have no interest in the other scenes. Now to actually get my hands on one of these is the tricky part.
That EAD-10 sounds mad good. My question is, when the kit your playing sounds that phat, why change it? 😂
Haha options dude! It also changes your mindset with different sounds
That camera audio ain’t no slouch
Much prefer the camera audio. It has cymbals.

WOW! great stuff for inspiration!
Tasty skinbashing too......
Thanks!
awesome ;)
I’m hearing too much of the acoustic drums :/
Every time they mention the"phone app" they should tell you you'll spend $40-$50 on cable adapters!
I am glad yamaha finally f.... roland for a change
I just watched a drum video, wtf's that all about? :P
Haha my apologies
what if your drummer isn't John Bonham?
