I usually walk 5-10 miles a day in the wilderness and farmlands daily. As I walk I sign praise and pray for the healing of the land and those on my prayer list. Recently I was struck down with a serious spinal stenosis and surgery has been delayed by 6 months. I need to walk. So much depends on it. Please pray that the Lord heals my back supernaturally. @@ShellStein93 Thank God, Michelle. We Christians often forget that the truest freedom is found by denying our self, taking up our cross and following Jesus. So many drown in the oceans of their own making, while receiving the gift of God - Jesus' death on the cross, the depth of God's love for us - is all that is needed to have abundant life.
I tell people the deepness of the cross, they freak out like I am strange. Then they never bothered to think about the cross because with the cross there are no limits, and once in heaven we will spend eternity trying to understand it.

Thank you, in the past 15 years I've come to love and adore this hymn. When I was younger the church I was going to sang this hymn every week , without emotion, just to sing it. I started calling it a "Klingon funeral dirge", but in the mid 2000s being a truck driver, I started memorizing hymns and this one just happened to come on my list because I heard somebody singing it with purpose, so I memorized it and it has become one of my most loved hymns. Yes, so sad, isn't it ! When churches/ people in them pray, sing, speak or preach with such lack of intent, love, or anything. With such monotony ! Horrific, really. Tragic and shameful, for the adults who ought to know better and lead the youth to slow down, think about what they're saying, and if needed, stop saying routine, scripted prayers or chants at all then ! My husband couldn't stand it, practically forbade our household from ever doing that ( a scripted, habitual prayer such as the common table prayers) ! They have their place, it just depends on the people reciting them to take their time, and be growing their love of Christ, and thus attn. to the words, the rest of the day and week. Even then, with too much repetition there's simply too much reason for it to lose it's freshness of meaning, and so I would personally advise not doing them every day, change it up with spontaneously worded prayers. I'm so thankful that in spite of your experience, you allowed God to speak to and grow you to Him, anyways ! That your not here using it as an excuse to reject God or all Christians !

Hello ! I am extremely thankful for Simon's songs in English, as I am an American :). I like other hymns and many contemporary praise and worship songs, but there really isn't anyone else with songs quite like Simon's, that I know of anyways ! I love many of them just as they are, in Russian ( I think it's Russian), especially " Choose Life". I just LOVE it ! And a few others, the ones with the Martens sisters. But, I also really appreciate being able to hear them in English, as I don't know much Russian yet ( I learned a tiny bit, many years ago, when a Russian man stayed with my family for the summer, on our dairy farm. Hello to Nicolai Korchnev - I am probably mis-spelling his last name - if he ever hears of this ! He was from Novosibirsk. He would be about 56 years old now). Anyways, I can't even understand what sounds exactly to make, my ears can't catch them quickly enough, to at least be able to sing the words even if I don't know their direct translation. I need to get a translation book from the Library again I suppose. So, I appreciate being able to sing along in English, and also want to learn Russian though. When I went to church this past Sunday, our pianist played this piece as our prelude. The music director was so moved by it that he sung it that night as a solo. I could not get this hymn out of my head so I went to TH-cam and found this version that you had done. It was the most compelling video I ever watched. Then I started watching your other works. I have lived a long time, but I think your work is among the most inspiring I have ever seen or heard. Nothing has brought me closer to the Lord in a long time than these works that you do. By all means, keep it up! And even though most of your work is in Russian, for some reason, this makes it all the more inspiring because in the final analysis we are all of "One Lord, One Faith, One Birth!" I also believe that the dates given about Yeshua (His Hebrew name) were assigned later by the emerging Roman Catholic Church to be more acceptable in that pagan society. Hence the celebration of the Lord was changed from the Jewish "Saturday" to Sunday, which in fact is the "Sun day". It is only if you are interested in really knowing the true Jesus, you need to open yourself and seek the truth beyond what we were fed. He was indeed a Jewish born child and what he spoke, what he did can be found many centuries before in the books of the Prophets of what we refer to as "The Old Testament". There is so much more, but not much can be revealed or understood as the thoughts of our Creator are much higher than ours, His secrets shared only with those who open their heart to the Son. Hard to let go of our brilliant intellectualizations, harder still to look upon a beaten bloody crucified man and believe that He was indeed fully man and fully God, becoming the sacrificial offering for us, so that man would have a chance to be reconciled to God again. I love that this was filmed on the sea shore; the Holy Spirit has recently been drawing my attention to the many times in the new testament when Jesus stood on the sea shore. I'm not exactly sure yet what the lesson is in that, but it really makes me overwhelmed now when I look at the sea, to know Jesus once trod this same earth and would come apart from those crowds to rest a while- sometimes to the mountains, sometimes the sea, sometimes a garden, but usually somewhere He could just be with His Father surrounded by unspoilt creation, the way it was supposed to be before sin came in. I also have learnt to love the sea when it's raging and at it's very worst; because then I see God's glory and power in clarity. During life's varied storms we have to be dependent on God, our Navigator and Captain, to bring us safe to land. We would flounder on our own, sink further into the deep. It's the darkest times in life when His light shines brightest; therefore I take pleasure in burdens and in trials, because He uses them to bring me closer to Him. So glad you now have a copy of the Bible. I began reading the word of God soon after I surrendered my life to the Lord Jesus, when I was age 15. That was well over half a century ago. It's been such a privilege, such a blessing, such an opportunity to read in my own language what the living God has to say to me. Through the Bible, I read of God's amazing dealings with humanity since He created our first parents, Adam and Eve. And I discover His wisdom, His guidance, His warnings and His compassion. I see why and how I'm called to live, and how to share the serious news of human sinfulness and the wonderful news of the gospel of Christ with unsaved friends and strangers. Can I encourage you to aim to start each day with at least a few minutes in reading through the Bible and in prayer to God in the name of Jesus? You might be best to start in the Gospel of John or Luke, then the book of Acts. After that, I suggest the book of Proverbs then I Peter. Then just go from there. Every time you re-read a book of the Bible, expect to notice and understand more than at your first reading of it. You'll also come up with more questions too! It's all part of getting a deepening understanding of scripture and developing a Biblical worldview. Always maintain a high view of God's word - because that's what the Bible is! And may God richly bless you as you set off on this journey to know His love, His ways and the joys of salvation in Christ. Remember - you're never on your own when you keep your eyes on the risen Saviour!

I usually walk 5-10 miles a day in the wilderness and farmlands daily. As I walk I sign praise and pray for the healing of the land and those on my prayer list. Recently I was struck down with a serious spinal stenosis and surgery has been delayed by 6 months. I need to walk. So much depends on it. Please pray that the Lord heals my back supernaturally. So many and so much depends on this.

Thank you, in the past 15 years I've come to love and adore this hymn. When I was younger the church I was going to sang this hymn every week , without emotion, just to sing it. I started calling it a "Klingon funeral dirge", but in the mid 2000s being a truck driver, I started memorizing hymns and this one just happened to come on my list because I heard somebody singing it with purpose, so I memorized it and it has become one of my most loved hymns. I appreciate the work you put into this video. To God be the glory!
Yes, so sad, isn't it ! When churches/ people in them pray, sing, speak or preach with such lack of intent, love, or anything. With such monotony ! Horrific, really. Tragic and shameful, for the adults who ought to know better and lead the youth to slow down, think about what they're saying, and if needed, stop saying routine, scripted prayers or chants at all then ! My husband couldn't stand it, practically forbade our household from ever doing that ( a scripted, habitual prayer such as the common table prayers) ! They have their place, it just depends on the people reciting them to take their time, and be growing their love of Christ, and thus attn. to the words, the rest of the day and week. Even then, with too much repetition there's simply too much reason for it to lose it's freshness of meaning, and so I would personally advise not doing them every day, change it up with spontaneously worded prayers.
I'm so thankful that in spite of your experience, you allowed God to speak to and grow you to Him, anyways ! That your not here using it as an excuse to reject God or all Christians !

Hello ! I am extremely thankful for Simon's songs in English, as I am an American :). I like other hymns and many contemporary praise and worship songs, but there really isn't anyone else with songs quite like Simon's, that I know of anyways ! I love many of them just as they are, in Russian ( I think it's Russian), especially " Choose Life". I just LOVE it ! And a few others, the ones with the Martens sisters. But, I also really appreciate being able to hear them in English, as I don't know much Russian yet ( I learned a tiny bit, many years ago, when a Russian man stayed with my family for the summer, on our dairy farm. Hello to Nicolai Korchnev - I am probably mis-spelling his last name - if he ever hears of this ! He was from Novosibirsk. He would be about 56 years old now). Anyways, I can't even understand what sounds exactly to make, my ears can't catch them quickly enough, to at least be able to sing the words even if I don't know their direct translation. I need to get a translation book from the Library again I suppose. So, I appreciate being able to sing along in English, and also want to learn Russian though. When I went to church this past Sunday, our pianist played this piece as our prelude. The music director was so moved by it that he sung it that night as a solo. I could not get this hymn out of my head so I went to TH-cam and found this version that you had done. It was the most compelling video I ever watched. Then I started watching your other works. I have lived a long time, but I think your work is among the most inspiring I have ever seen or heard. Nothing has brought me closer to the Lord in a long time than these works that you do. By all means, keep it up! And even though most of your work is in Russian, for some reason, this makes it all the more inspiring because in the final analysis we are all of "One Lord, One Faith, One Birth!"

I also believe that the dates given about Yeshua (His Hebrew name) were assigned later by the emerging Roman Catholic Church to be more acceptable in that pagan society. Hence the celebration of the Lord was changed from the Jewish "Saturday" to Sunday, which in fact is the "Sun day". It is only if you are interested in really knowing the true Jesus, you need to open yourself and seek the truth beyond what we were fed. He was indeed a Jewish born child and what he spoke, what he did can be found many centuries before in the books of the Prophets of what we refer to as "The Old Testament". There is so much more, but not much can be revealed or understood as the thoughts of our Creator are much higher than ours, His secrets shared only with those who open their heart to the Son. You can dismiss it as fairytales, but do so at your own peril. I was once very arrogant in my ways and certainly ignorant, mocking such childish ideas. I thank my Lord snd Savior Yeshua, the Messiah, for having brought me to Him, despite it all. Your intelligence can become a valuable spiritual tool in this world filled with darkness if you allow Him to love you and fill your heart with His healing presence.

I love that this was filmed on the sea shore; the Holy Spirit has recently been drawing my attention to the many times in the new testament when Jesus stood on the sea shore. I'm not exactly sure yet what the lesson is in that, but it really makes me overwhelmed now when I look at the sea, to know Jesus once trod this same earth and would come apart from those crowds to rest a while- sometimes to the mountains, sometimes the sea, sometimes a garden, but usually somewhere He could just be with His Father surrounded by unspoilt creation, the way it was supposed to be before sin came in.
I also have learnt to love the sea when it's raging and at it's very worst; because then I see God's glory and power in clarity. During life's varied storms we have to be dependent on God, our Navigator and Captain, to bring us safe to land. We would flounder on our own, sink further into the deep. It's the darkest times in life when His light shines brightest; therefore I take pleasure in burdens and in trials, because He uses them to bring me closer to Him.

I began reading the word of God soon after I surrendered my life to the Lord Jesus, when I was age 15.
That was well over half a century ago. It's been such a privilege, such a blessing, such an opportunity to read in my own language what the living God has to say to me.
Through the Bible, I read of God's amazing dealings with humanity since He created our first parents, Adam and Eve.
And I discover His wisdom, His guidance, His warnings and His compassion.
I see why and how I'm called to live, and how to share the serious news of human sinfulness and the wonderful news of the gospel of Christ with unsaved friends and strangers.
Can I encourage you to aim to start each day with at least a few minutes in reading through the Bible and in prayer to God in the name of Jesus?
You might be best to start in the Gospel of John or Luke, then the book of Acts. After that, I suggest the book of Proverbs then I Peter.
Then just go from there.
Every time you re-read a book of the Bible, expect to notice and understand more than at your first reading of it. You'll also come up with more questions too!
It's all part of getting a deepening understanding of scripture and developing a Biblical worldview.
Always maintain a high view of God's word - because that's what the Bible is!
And may God richly bless you as you set off on this journey to know His love, His ways and the joys of salvation in Christ.
Remember - you're never on your own when you keep your eyes on the risen Saviour!
