Smooth Hounds, Bass & Whiting ~Southampton Water

Pop out today at 1100hrs on my own just in Southampton water for a few hours there was a cold South Easterly wind blowing and lucky enough it was with the tide , fished 3 rods , 3 hook flapper, 2 hook flapper and a loop rig , all with Cox & Rawle size 4 scratching Match Hooks baited with Ragworm.
The loop rig fished so well last night at Boscombe Pier I thought I would give it a try from the boat . Well first cast with the loop Rig and boom first Smooth Hound of the year , fishing was quite steady most of the day, with Pin Whiting ,School Bass , Smooth Hounds and of course Doggies . Most fish came on the loop rig with the odd fish on the 2 hook flapper . Packed up and headed home at 1530hrs . Enjoyable days fishing .
