  • COIL takes place in a not-so-distant future where social networks, become actual networks, enslaving humans in a digital social contract that removes individuality in favor of forced harmony. Throughout the storyline being explored in Warm Cyborgs, each song has examined a different aspect of "waking up" from this un-natural utopia. With guest artist Above the Snow Line adding some very dramatic synth instrumentation to the track, it's tonality is a mixture of relentless anxiety, anguish and release. Produced with love as part of the Abrasive Monologues Creative Co-Op.
COIL, is an example of the merger of two genres, and two very intense artists' unique personalities to create a massive soundscape that is equal parts haunting, driving and enveloping.
    About Abrasive Monologues?
Abrasive Monologues began as a record label to publish the work of indie artist, Jonathan Hadley, but after becoming part of an indie artist community the vision was expanded to symbolize a cooperative spirit within the indie music sphere. Abrasive Monologues is now more of an idea and creative think-tank that produce collaborative works at a scale much larger than an indie artist would typically take on by combining our individual talents and producing music together.
Abrasive Monologues is the flag under which indie artists Jonathan Hadley, Above the Snow Line, Kanilrós and others come together to make something more powerful, more impactful. The line-up of artists participating changes over time. Current and previous artist affiliations include Jonathan Hadley - Vocals, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Keys, Lead Synth, Bass Synth, James Wright - Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums & Percussion, @kanilros - Guitar, Mandolin, @abovethesnowlinemusic - Vocals, Guitar, Lead Synth, Bass Synth and Keys, Ken Goran - Drums & Percussion, Prime Birds - Guitar and Vocals and Daniel Blackmore ( @MusicforFun01 ) - Bass, Guitar, Vocals.

Killer song. The dystopian vibes of the video compliment the song very well. The story of humans enslaved in a digital social contract is not too far out there either (I think of communist China's social credit system where public "wrong-think" can land one in very hot water). Great work here.

Thanks guys! The social credit system ideology was definitely an inspiration in the writing.
