Excellent video Richard!! Very helpful for me as I own an earlier 362 than the one in the video carbureted version. Helpful information if my choke rod comes loose to know there is a fix.
One of the reasons I do these videos. I have replaced the choke rod in the past only to have it pop out a week later. It does take a while for the plastic to wear out thankfully.
Great video. I have one of these that a limb fell on the handle and messed all that up. All those parts are exactly what i need. Don't have the best Stihl dealer here but maybe this will help him. Thanks 👍

Richard, need to bug you again, have a ms 661 C , m tronic , will not start, checked for spark the conventional way by removing the spark and placing the control lever in the triangle position, pull the rope and I get one flash initially then no more evidence of spark after that. So I removed the starter housing so that I could use a drill motor to spin the crank faster and for more revolutions than the rope starter provides, no difference, still no spark, so I disconnected the harness plug at the coil and tried again, same result, no spark. I know it’s an M Tronic version and my procedure may not be correct, so im asking you does it require a different test procedure because of the feedback system? Please explain… thanks,
depending on if you fixed it or not, and what version you have, it sounds to me, if the sparkplug is wet, that the m-tronic has the wrong settings in it. i would recommend to vent the cylinder for an hour, dry the plug and try again. if that fires up but dies in idle, it´s resettime for the m-tronic. check your version on the label and search for the correct reset procedure.

I've got stihl's smallest saw. I've got stihl's biggest saw. And I've got a 362...and no one dares touch my 362. That's the BOSSES SAW.
Lots of useful info!👍👍👍
