I started my Miata project with the dreams of doing a V6 swap and an Exocet chassis...realized I was biting off far more than I could chew and have wound up with a Miata with a rebuilt stock motor lol. Props to the guys who are making V6s work in Miatas (love it!) and to the guys who are making Exocets work (love them too!) V6 Exocet is the sploogiest! The owner/builder knows what he's talking about, sharp guy :)
Daniel is a great guy, met him at a car show. I expressed interest in building one of these. He let me sit in his Exocet, answered all of my questions about the build, and because I was so excited about it, he even offered to let me drive it. Really cool to see true car enthusiasts out there willing to share their hard work with others. THANKS AGAIN Daniel!!

I honestly think its the best combination of weight, power, reliability and torque you can get on an mx-5 - the rocketeer is a better supported/sold mod, but frankly I'd rather have a GM v6 than a Jag V6 just for parts availability and reliability.

This build gives me motivation to work on my own exocet which has been sitting in the garage untouched for 2 years :(. I don't have a fancy Camaro V6 in the garage, though, just a regular NA motor. So many questions about choices he made, he's located in same are as me, maybe I'll look him up or something. I'm surprised I don't see him on the Exocet FB group. This thing is so fucking awesome with that 300hp V6, glorious build. Will be much more fun than the 120 or whatever I have in mine, and even that is enough to cook the tires through 2nd gear.

Zack always made me chuckle with his clever jokes and tends to know his stuff; Matt, however, when drunk - which he regularly was - constantly laughed out loud at his own jokes and was arrogant & interruptive as fuck towards his team and some guests. I must have listened to 80 podcasts or so; it was informative, and a hilarious podcast at times, but Matt being just too overbearing is what veered me away. That said, Matt's professionalism on the YT platform is/was excellent. I just hope Zack gets the attention and love that he deserves -- he's a humble, intelligent and hilarious motherfucker.
No way. I have a race chassis with the Miata 1.8L. 15K for the kit, coilovers, tires and seats maybe. Having said that, even at 25 grand this is a freaking steal.
I drove an electric buggy but the weight balance was different, and the steering was super heavy because the control arms were a few feet long. I'd say it was a very different experience, but scaffolding and power is a real good time, no matter the surface you're on. ZK
Call me crazy, but I feel like this calls out for a Subaru 6 cylinder boxer engine - you could get the weight lower and they are known to be very reliable.
10:20 this kid's shifting habits are bad. Needs to upshift instead of hanging the RPMs so high. And he's just cruising. I mean, if he kept the RPM high because he was planning on accelerating hard, fine. But he really should upshift when coming off the gas to get the RPMs lower and give the engine a break.
Driving downhill (and with corners approaching frequently) I prefer to be in a lower gear and use more engine braking, than sit in fourth and ride the brake pedal. ZK

The 4.3 big diff torsen was in the 1600 NB in Japan if it helps. Fit that with the 6-speed and the gears are quite short.

If it's not Mines Rd southeast of Livermore, CA, then it's a similar road nearby. There are better roads around the Bay, but Mines is pretty good.
Definitely Mines Road in Livermore. Great road but lots of bicyclists if you go at the wrong time so be careful.
