You need the silver Benz to have a decent and reliable car while you deal with "content" cars. As for the Jaguar, don't go near it unless you intend to convert the engine over to a V8 of some kind. Too many problems otherwise.

She adored that car, and still misses it, but the after about the 3rd hydraulic suspension failure it was decided it was time to cut it loose. Another one I remember was growing up in IA, there was an Indy Jaguar shop in downtown Davenport that always had at least one SBC swapped V12 of that vintage for sale before they all disappeared. So they must have blown up often

The biggest issue with the XJS is the heat that the big engine generates. I had one and had to replace every single hose under the hood. The thing that killed mine was one little hose that attached the fuel injector to the fuel rail split causing an engine fire. The hoses to the injectors were crimped on so you had to replace the hose and the injector as an assembly (at least back then) and I had not replaced those as yet.

Hello Mike, you can always consider export over seas. Those cars are wrilly expensive to buy in Holland when day have no rust. There is a tax discount for entrepeneurs if day drive it privet also when the car is older than 15 years and lo milage ( lo on kilometer). I paid private( i am not entrepeneur) like €220,- a mond road tax for my s210 E220cdi becous of feul price over here and the kilometers i drive it is still cheaper than a gasolin car for me . A jaguar like that in good condition is hard to find here and if the car break down day can do everything on the Bike. Keep up te good work i see a lot of your video's saludos from Spain

Mike, for the XJS, every single things on it branded Lucas is a failure or waiting to fail. It's a nightmare that never end. Stay away from it, if you think the CL500 is a bad car, wait till' you do the Jag'. I'm not so sure that it would gain you lots of viewers either.
The CL500/W215 doesn't have SLS. It has the ABC system. If you can get it at the right price, repair the ABC. If you pay a pretty penny, ditch the ABC and toss some coilovers on that Puppy!
You taught me something. I did not know the front side panel on the 500 was plastic... Why did they do that? You don't need the XJS, do you not already have your friends Big Cat in your back yard to repair... or is that already done?
Run…. And then go home and work on Janis if you want to do an engine rebuild…. That old Mercedes will be 10x the enjoyment factor of the Jag…. Oh and buy the E350 and cruise it around with a smile that knows it’s not a V12 Jag disaster …. :)

The xjs js probably to much there are no parts available I owned a 94 xj12 and let me tell you it was a nightmare to keep going I loved it but the dealer won’t even look at one most independent ls wont touch them and the aftermarket parts are very bad quality

XJS has a lot of repairs to come , but you can overcome them , I thought you said 350's had count balance problems , maybe a fix to make money

I own a xjs v12 the issue with mine was a fuel pump relay and new tires wheels and lower radiator hose other than that it’s a awesome cat
As the person who keeps on about the barracuda stay well clear of the jag ,i had one and it had major transmission problems .

XJS is in mint condition but that engine looks a nightmare. The Mercedes E350 would be a nice easy flip.
