Jack is trying to use the liability portion of his renters insurance, which typically would cover ‘accidents’ like this, but because this was no accident, captured on film, and used as promotion for Jack’s business, this incident was not covered under his policy
@kos2919 Yep. It's pretty embarrassing for Atozy to be calling him and idiot for trying to use that insurance, mocking him several times for it.. All while displaying that he has clearly never purchased a renters or homeowner's insurance policy in his life. And also couldn't even be bothered to do a quick Google search to find out more. The fact that the insurance court filing was talking about business and willful acts to harm others rather than "lol renters insurance" should have at least been a clue. Don't get me wrong, I really like Atozys videos. That actually makes it even harder to watch him make that big mistake.
Pretty much this and I’ll add a bit of extra as well since I’ve work claims like these as a insurance rep Every renters/homeowners/commercial policy has a Liability Coverage section that deals with accidents that insureds are involved with as long the claims meet the definitions of bodily injury or property damage. Jack tendered a claim to his carrier for two reasons which is normal for anyone with a policy 1. Indemnity - Insurer will pay for covered claims to a 3rd party if the insurer is legally liable 2. Defense - Insurer obligations to provide defense counsel at the insurers expense to defend him What happened here is he got hit with a denial for both indemnity and defense since its most likely denied due the fact that the assault was in the commission of his business which is self evident as he runs a social media business. Most policies have a hard stop that will differentiate between a business vs in house caretaker and etc. As to willful it’s questionable since it’s the decision to not covered it under as intentional is state dependent of where the policy resides in and as well what the insured says. They most likely reserved intentional acts but are mainly denying on the business exclusion since it’s the most black/white exclusion in any policy
@@fuhkerzwhat do you mean? According to the source "TMZ" it was renters insurance: "In new legal docs, obtained by TMZ, State Farm says Jack is trying to use his renters insurance policy to force the company to defend him in the litigation and possibly cough up any damages that may be owed." What confuses me is even if it was on his property how would he think renters insurance would cover him when insurance is typically over property damages not damages to people unless due to faulty construction etc lol.
My question is how was the security guard not arrested? He just gets to punch people with no consequences and get sued a year later? There should be a criminal case behind this as well. These people get unchecked for years with no consequences and it boggles my mind.
I left a similar comment, and i have no clue how at least 1 of them isn't in prison. One dudes job is to literally physically assasult random people that they confront. Within 5 minutes after that she came up to me and thanked me for that
This entire debacle displays the negative consequences of irresponsibility and recklessness on social media. The lawsuit against Jack seems justified due to the mishandling of the situation and disrespect to the victim. His attempt to use his insurance to cover the lawsuit costs comes off as both desperate and irrational.
its because he doesnt have his own money save what he makes on social media which isnt nearly as much as someone like him lets on (its why when influencers have subs drop off, they go on about not making that much money at it). mommy and daddy were probably floating his affluenza and wont float him in the court case, in case the payout is astronomical. The US Legal System has the habit of awarding huge sums to affected parties in court for cases like this.
Jack had to move like 3-4 times due to his behavior being basically akin to Jake Paul. It may help pay for another person’s medical bills if the insured is found to be liable. The catch is the damage must be unintentional or accidental. If it is found that damages or injury were intentional (as in this video), the insurance company has the right to opt out of representing the insured per policy guidelines. Work in insurance here. Renters insurance often includes a coverage called personal liability. This coverage is a set cost to both defend and pay out on your behalf for damages covered that you are held liable for. Renters insurance does extend to protect you anywhere in the US (eg. say you’re at a friends house and accidentally serve them food they are allergic to and they sue you for medical bills). The problem comes from 1. It’s personal liability, not business liability. 2. It’s a policy exclusion, aka the wording of the policy specifically excludes coverage for an incident such as this. TLDR: Jacks attempted use of renters insurance is only about 80% as dumb as it seems.
Coffeezilla has defamation insurance that won't pay for his defamation case. Also in another section of the internet, Jack Doherty wants his renters insurance to pay for coverage for an assault claim against his business' employee. We're living in a wild timeline.
As soon as I heard State Farm, I burst out laughing 😂 surely Jack just saw one of their commercials and was like "Yeah, they're always there!" He was also probably acting cool because he was under the impression the insurance would take care of everything. What a bona fide clown lol
Reminds me of my little cousin who was a little bitch at my school but as soon as his brothers would come around he’d turn into the biggest dickhead ever
Renter's insurance often includes general personal liability like homeowner's insurance does. If Jack hadn't filed a claim, it's likely that the plaintiff would have sought to have State Farm joined to the lawsuit anyway, because you want as many deep pockets attached as possible when suing someone. But, as SF points out, liability insurance is for things like *negligence*, not intentional or willful acts. Kane acted willfully and unreasonably, so there should be no coverage for Jack under this policy. If he has other liability like an umbrella policy, they'll probably also get dismissed. 50 states have 50 different rules, but AFAIK no US state allows indemnification against willful acts. You don't want people thinking they can cause harm intentionally with impunity. The upshot is that I'm not surprised they filed the claim and got SF pulled into the suit. But they'll file a motion to be removed from the suit and will most likely win that motion.
If what he’s doing is so wonderful, why does he need a bodyguard?? How cretinous can you be? Thank goodness he’s being sued and cannot dignify his stupidity!!!
There's also bodyguards and "bodyguards". There's real professionals who are trained and know how to protect someone, then there's the bouncer type who are mostly to look intimidating but can end up like this guy.

It's super smart. Not only will they not be responsible to pay for any damages, but the way he tried to use his own insurance is literally insurance fraud / scamming.
He's getting sued for assault and battery by the guy that got punched, not his insurance company. They are just saying they aren't going to represent him or pay anything since he's not covered for that.
This guy needed to be corrected by his parents when he was a kid. And now he is trying to make it everyone else's problem that they were failures as parents. If you're kid is looking up private address of random people you have an obligation to stop them and correct that behavior.
Hello insurance producer here. Renters insurance comes with liability insurance for bodily injury lawsuits no matter where they are. This is to cover accidental situations unlike that one. In example if you bump into an old lady she falls and breaks her hip and sues you then the liability insurance will cover that. Since he hired the guy it should’ve been under a business liability policy or a commercial umbrella policy.
Well, it's like the ad jingle goes, "Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there." A fitting fate for Jack Doherty, being the exact opposite of "a good neighbor".
Not as hilarious as you think. Mine covers me if I get sued for accidentally injuring someone somewhere else and also if I am sued for defaming someone. Insurance policies have all sorts of riders and additional coverage you can buy. Even the fact that this was an intentional act to cause harm isn't a slam dunk for the insurance company because it wasn't Jack who intentionally caused the harm. Jack was just negligent and created a scenario where the victim was harmed, which is actually something that the policy would cover in many circumstances.
Doherty's parents shouldn't have ignored his mental health problems when he was a child and should have gotten him the help he desperately needed back then; with all the years of enabling and reinforcement of his sociopathic behavior, there may not be any available therapy that can help him at this point.
Jack’s bad behavior started with his enabling parents. They allowed him to act like this and they didn’t set boundaries like good parents do. Now Jack has become societies problem.

Jack is trying to use the liability portion of his renters insurance, which typically would cover ‘accidents’ like this, but because this was no accident, captured on film, and used as promotion for Jack’s business, this incident was not covered under his policy
The question is, what's renter insurance clauses?
@kos2919 Yep. It's pretty embarrassing for Atozy to be calling him and idiot for trying to use that insurance, mocking him several times for it..
All while displaying that he has clearly never purchased a renters or homeowner's insurance policy in his life. And also couldn't even be bothered to do a quick Google search to find out more.
The fact that the insurance court filing was talking about business and willful acts to harm others rather than "lol renters insurance" should have at least been a clue.
Don't get me wrong, I really like Atozys videos. That actually makes it even harder to watch him make that big mistake.
Pretty much this and I’ll add a bit of extra as well since I’ve work claims like these as a insurance rep
Every renters/homeowners/commercial policy has a Liability Coverage section that deals with accidents that insureds are involved with as long the claims meet the definitions of bodily injury or property damage.
Jack tendered a claim to his carrier for two reasons which is normal for anyone with a policy
1. Indemnity - Insurer will pay for covered claims to a 3rd party if the insurer is legally liable
2. Defense - Insurer obligations to provide defense counsel at the insurers expense to defend him
What happened here is he got hit with a denial for both indemnity and defense since its most likely denied due the fact that the assault was in the commission of his business which is self evident as he runs a social media business.
