They keep saying that extra judicial murder is wrong, but why isn't it wrong to do it by withholding necessary medical care? Why aren't the people speaking for the health insurance companies required to make these repeated disclaimers?

it’s our only choice as well. I am almost 60 and on one medication only and they consistently question my doctor as to why I need it. Then sometimes they approve 90 day supply - other times they decide to only approve 30 day supply so my doctor has to re do it. Also, I am very healthy but had 2 times in past 15 years that I had to be admitted to hospital for weird things (C-diff and random seizure that was really bad) and they denied both saying I didn’t need to be admitted overnight. I literally perforated my colon and almost had to have it removed with C-diff plus it’s highly contagious but I guess I should have just stayed home. I have paid well over $100,000 in health insurance premiums over the last 20 years and had to fight them tooth and nail to cover those costs after their initial denials. It was like having a 2nd job with all the time I spent on the phone trying to get help. I can’t even imagine when they do it to people that are so sick they don’t have the strength to fight them

United "healthcare" killed my sister in November 2023. She had very invasive spinal surgery, the same surgery my mother had in 1998. My mother spent 3 months at a rehab facility, getting daily therapy so she could walk again. That's normal for this major spinal surgery (laminectomy).
My sister was told that she would get a couple of weeks at least at a rehab hospital. They lied to her. She only spent one day in "recovery" after that brutal spinal surgery, and they sent her home in an Uber, because transporting her 120 miles by ambulance was "too expensive". WTF?! She's not supposed to be sitting up! Uber drivers are NOT medically trained to transport patients after surgery!!!
Her elderly neighbor helped her get into bed, but she had no one there to take care of her. Two days after she got home, she tried dragging herself into her kitchen (she couldn't walk) and the strain caused her to have a heart attack. Her elderly neighbor found her unresponsive and called 911. My sister never regained consciousness, and died a few days later in hospital.
She would have never had that surgery if she'd known they weren't going to cover the cost of her recovery. United killed my sister.😭

This is a true account as I took photos when I saw it and sent it to my boss at the time since we had convos to the effect. Scene: Parking lot in Waterford, MI, shiny red Hummer H2 with a Trump profile chest up on the driver's side in the backseat window (like he's being carted around). On the back window, bottom right, where you usually see people put those family vinyl stick figures was one with stick people being hit and thrown up into the air and below it was the tagline: "F*ck Your Protest". I believe this was around the time Charlottesville. It was crazy to see someone would even put that on their vehicle. If I recall correctly, I believe I saw a blonde lady approach/open the vehicle. It was awhile back, but those details stuck. I know I grabbed a snapshot of the license plate. I have a Ggl Drive where my files are automatically set to download so I should dig those photos up again. Just goes to show MAGA is def okay with a little 'effective' violence. Wild ass shite.

The everyday American citizen is only as good as their ability to hand over all their dollars to their corporate overlords. It's no wonder people are behind Mangione and find his outrage totally relatable. Not that it makes it right. But how much wrong has and is done to the average American every day every hour every minute of their lives in the US. And not to mention everywhere a news or media site has a thumbnail pic of Mangione, it is shocker (not) a pic where he's looks enraged - trying to shape him into some sort of monster. I find it clarifying in terms of all the media's complicity to wrangle in Americans right now so they don't get a clue that they shouldn't be fighting with each other - when in fact we have connection to each other, it is all these corporate structures which are separating us on all fronts. Perhaps it is Game Over on all of that.

“For-profit” or “insurance” two terms that should never be allow near a healthcare system. Some things in life should not be based on a “business model." For example, the fire department. There is no profit motive. There is no concern about whether you could “afford” to have the fire put out or not. You make the call and the firefighters do their best to put it out. Healthcare could be just like the fire department. No pre-authorization middle man insurance company needed. *Universal Medicare for All* now!

I make sure to provide umbrella medical coverage for all my employees, regardless of citizenship or geography, this is actually the way to go to achieve maximal profits past approx. 5K employees. The analytical data shows this outright. Honestly publicly owned companies with boards are just the worst things in regards to long term societal prosperity and growth. That and the stupid consultancy class. Literally zero people enjoy being ill, or want to go hang out in the hospital or utilize medical equipment as accessories. People would rather prefer to be healthy and in the company of their loved ones, and this common sense train of thought, backed by over 35 years of SAP HANA super compute analytics on every minutiae of the business process will show this outright. However they love their insanely clown-esque hypotheticals about the benefits of implementing "security" and "means testing." One of them even had the audacity to say some stuff like what if they give away a bunch of medical supplies....
Always so confident they are in their ability to make me more money, something I have never put out a request to anyone ever, as unlike their demented arses Edward Jones has never accosted me in the gardening section of a RONA, while I'm getting supplies to transplant some house plants into larger planters, in order to do the accounting or tax prep, so am happy with them and not looking for new folk. Thank you Luigi for bringing much needed attention from the victims perspective. As a victim of this hypocrisy i can relate to the anger and rage of being bullied/maltreated and abused by companies that we pay into to protect us, but they leave us hanging in our most vulnerable times of need; and united health care is just one of many! For the past 5 years I have literally been fighting for my life! Left disabled with critical injuries, but denied the services necessary to overcome. I have been refused critical care services and given compromised medical records that circle around my main areas of concerns; denied proper legal representation; denied disability; and forced to fight alone with severe medical constraints; but denied the services necessary to properly defend myself!
Based on the little research that i have been able to do this mess has been going on for over 3 decades! So this incident doesn't surprise me one bit. It's just sad that it had to come to this. Yet, it still doesn't compare to the millions of Americans who have died or developed terminal illnesses like cancer and heart disease from being left medically untreated. Praying 🙏for your exoneration because had this matter been addressed sooner and with more rigorous penalties it never would have happened.

It is a republic because the Government derives its power from the people. In other words, it's both.
Saying that a "republic" can't be a democracy would be like saying my truck is not a motor vehicle, because it's not a car, or that my chickens can't be birds because they don't fly. "Democracy" is a broad term, "Republic" only defines what _kind_ of democracy we have (or had).

While I was receiving treatment, pandemic came there was no flight back to USA, so I had to have my treatment in Taiwan. Not to say that their hospitals, their equipment were all first class, I didn’t have to wait for weeks to see a doctor, for almost every type of problems, I can walk into any hospital, any clinic and see the doctor if the line is not too long and the best thing is I pay only $28 a month. I had angioplastic with three stents and stay in hospital for almost one week. I told them that I will pay for the treatment myself our pocket, and I was surprised to see the whole deal was just a little bit over $3000. Before I went to Taiwan, my insurance monthly was $1100 a month and if I want to see a doctor, I have to wait weeks for my appointment. So the question is, why we pay so much money and get so little services? When I told my experience they asked me where the Taiwan government got their money from? Herr Mangione's choice of action have not solved a iota of a problem for anyone. He incurred more costs not benefited anyone's healthcare. He probably worsened his own back injury going on that bus ride back and forth.
The healthcare crisis happen in countries in all of the modern western countries, also in countries where I live where we have government subsided healthcare. It has to do with the age structure of the population with relatively more elderly and pensioners and that people who are younger also are sicker and requesting more healthcare. What do you think is the result of the rates of childhood obesity having quadrupled over about the last three decades.
From what I get United Healthcare is the one with the lowest rates, catering to low income earners which tend to be the less healthy, poor people have number of stressfactors contriburing to illness, they have more workrelated accidents etc
If people want to revolutionise the could best start with putting the fork down, spill the drink, secure your guns to avoid having gun wounded people costing hundreds of thousands every day at intensive care and try let common resources be for people who can not avoid or improve their conditions.

For the physical side of the maintenance, what I usually do is work out a salary for one of the custodial stuff who are wanting to learn and take on the role of on site policy audits and controls and the fun fact is not only are they already aware of most of the stuff, they're sometimes doing some of the work already for free. For less money mind you than paying another firm for guesswork, it's way easier just doing the entirety of the actual work, paying for it, and not being unsure of own compliance.

The US for-profit health insur system *rations* care through high deductibles, delays and denials that fatten their profit margin; they deprive people of the care they paid for with their premiums. Healthcare needs to be a govt-administered *service* not “insurance” because unlike other insur, hc is needed routinely, not just for emergencies/ accidents/ natural events. We are the *only* democratic, industrialized country without some version of universal healthcare! Private health insur co’s use scare tactics and propaganda, but view the public data online- univ hc has better outcomes, greater longevity than US.

I just get so damn irritated when they try to pretend like this is a democrat versus republican issue. It's not and we all know it's not. And don't even get me started on the ones who try to trivialize the issue by pretending that he has support because he's good looking. No, he has support because he brought up an issue that has been causing so many of us to suffer, to lose life savings, to lose loved ones, or to live with pain or disability that wasn't necessary.
