Ive always wanted an OBNE reverb, and now it’s just a matter of trying to get my hands on one where I live. Thanks as always Stefan for sharing such mastery over pedals, but presenting it with true enthusiasm and passion. It always comes through with your playing, and your videos are always beautiful to watch and listen to.
I'd always overlooked this pedal, as just another modulated expensive reverb. I think the features are lush for ambient noodling. I'm interested. No menus or overly complicated controls and fiddly dip switchs. I'm not a guitarist but I'm really becoming a fan of this show for its demos.

They always manage to jam a ton of sonic versatility into a super intuitive user experience, which makes it a joy to explore. Sunlight and Dark Star are definitely made for each other. They are complementary designs, and you will be able to conjure some brilliantly unique soundscapes with those two combined 😊

Dude, you've made my day and I haven't even watched this video yet. I'm not particularly sold on this pedal but I've had a hard last couple months (broke my knee, so I literally can't do anything - can't take care of my 10 month old, can't help my wife who now is doing literally everything, can't really sit for long enough to do any productive work, and can't really get to my guitar equipment to be creative). I was thinking last night that I wish there was a video that gives me the vibe of me playing guitar and the musical inspiration behind it because I miss it so much. And then I wake up to a TPZ video, and I legitimately couldn't be happier. Thank you friend.

I still can't take my (now) year-and-a-half old down steps, but most everything else has fallen into place. I'm more fit than I've been in a long time (PT transitioned into personal training and I've lost 30 lbs.). I released my first full-length album this year (after playing guitar for 20+ years). And, yes, I picked up a Sunlight and I love it! You give me hope for the comments on TH-cam. :) Have a great day mate. Awwwww! Thank you, man. Yeah, something definitely clicked in me as well, when I tried that combo. I was having a hard time pushing the composition forward, but the second I connected the Alpha Haunt to the Sunlight, it became clear as day where the song was going ☺
Already pulled the trigger on this pedal but was waiting for Stefan’s demo to justify my impulse buy. I’m most looking to experimenting with the comb mode, and I can imagine this pedal will force both Hydra and Slo off my board for a while. As for Stefan’s icy rendition, I’ve heard warmer demos of this pedal, and I put it down to shorter daylight hours in Scandinavia.
Hope the demo was able to justify your impulsive ways. I would be very happy about that purchase if I was you. And hey, use it together with Hydra and Slö, it would be a magical ambient tonal trifecta. They are so different and will complement each other nicely. I don't really hear the icy nature, but it's probably because I have a fairly bright core tone. I like bright sounds, whereas others like darker sounds. Sunlight will sit nicely with whatever foundational tone you prefer.
@@thepedalzone Stefan, thanks. I never say never. I have an Alexander Sky 5000 reverb/delay on my board, which sits before more delay and reverb, and pedalboard real estate is valuable. I like having options.
Hi Stefan, well great demo as always, I am now using my OBNE Sunlight on my vocals to make pads, while I play bass over it. It's mesmerising. Waiting for my Dark Star to arrive to pair it with. In the meanwhile I have paired it with my EQD Transmisser and I just returned from another galaxy, these two together is awesome too.
Unreal as always. I know this video is a year old but had a question for anyone who owns the Sunlight or the Dark Star reverb. I've read in a few places that some people have found they added a lot of hiss to their signal, anybody found this with these pedals? None of the shops near me have them in stock currently so haven't had a chance to test them myself

This really is an interesting reverb pedal, I want one.
One of the coolest reverb pedals I've played in a long time. Really a unique device. Definitely go for it. You'll have a ton of fun with it.

Already pulled the trigger on this pedal but was waiting for Stefan’s demo to justify my impulse buy. I’m most looking to experimenting with the comb mode, and I can imagine this pedal will force both Hydra and Slo off my board for a while. As for Stefan’s icy rendition, I’ve heard warmer demos of this pedal, and I put it down to shorter daylight hours in Scandinavia.
Hope the demo was able to justify your impulsive ways. I would be very happy about that purchase if I was you. And hey, use it together with Hydra and Slö, it would be a magical ambient tonal trifecta. They are so different and will complement each other nicely. I don't really hear the icy nature, but it's probably because I have a fairly bright core tone. I like bright sounds, whereas others like darker sounds. Sunlight will sit nicely with whatever foundational tone you prefer.
@@thepedalzone Stefan, thanks. I never say never. I have an Alexander Sky 5000 reverb/delay on my board, which sits before more delay and reverb, and pedalboard real estate is valuable. I like having options.

Hi Stefan, well great demo as always, I am now using my OBNE Sunlight on my vocals to make pads, while I play bass over it. It's mesmerising.
Waiting for my Dark Star to arrive to pair it with. In the meanwhile I have paired it with my EQD Transmisser and I just returned from another galaxy, these two together is awesome too.

Unreal as always. I know this video is a year old but had a question for anyone who owns the Sunlight or the Dark Star reverb. I've read in a few places that some people have found they added a lot of hiss to their signal, anybody found this with these pedals? None of the shops near me have them in stock currently so haven't had a chance to test them myself
