the point of apm is to see how much action you do per minute, if those actions are spam then that apm is pointless but grubby is probably doing that do warm up before fights (imo)
To all. Clicking those peons in the begining does harvest gold faster, but it DOESNT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE, because he maybe earns 30 more gold than normal. The main reason that he does that is to warm up, get a good feel for mouse acuracy and get his mind, hands, and fingers warmed up, because the start of the game is kinnda slow. And yes, Grubby said so on his stream.
pros click fast constantly to get into the fast apm mind set if they ever just slack off they wont be as on top of things, its a little trick they constantly work on, helps their micro
If you ask me, I would have went Blademaster for a second hero rather than tauren, agility over strength heroes ya know, then again, tauren was also correct, UD usually goes Lich for a second hero
I never played anything but 1v1 on standard maps. Rax timings are standard even if you have 30 gold more. If you place the rax sooner, its doesnt help as much; maybe the grunt comes 2 sec earlier as usual.
@aderorr he just try to keep his hands warm and in tension. You can't just go from 20 apm to 400 apm in a hurry. So pro players try to keep 300 APM constantly from the get go. Even if it's not really THAT much usefull to click every single button 50 times while the first peon is being build, he still does so to keep himself in tension.
They don't move faster, they collect gold faster. If you don't micro your peons, they wait after each time they return the gold to your great hall, and these little waiting times add up. You can train a grunt a little bit faster if you do this trick adn also as it has been said it makes you focused in the meantime.
Grubby is also making peons go faster to mine by clicking them and sending to gold mine each 2 seconds, the peons go like seconds fasters, and also he is making customo hotkeys and points so he has no suprises in the game.
They all use hotkeys. The star-players like Sky, Grubby, Tod, Moon, Lucifer, they all do it. It's normal, you can switch faster on buildings, you can ciontroll your units just better. But every player does that.

that bringing the peons to the gold faster thing isn't really useful it won't give you a lot of gold it really doesn't make it much faster.. really you don't need to do it at all. People just do it to warm up their fingers for the game

micro is how you handle your units and how you pet them back when they are low hp and so on...
