Joe Root always reminds me of Atherton. Both of them are pure class and are very humble.
Atherton humble 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️.
Haven’t you seen his presentation ceremony in England with the Indian team since last 10 years…🤷♂️🤷♂️
Maybe be born yday

Root walks all over Atherton!!
But root is in a League of his own... struggles against Bumrah and Cummins ...two all time greats
Root’s hundred was a creditable one last match where he played his original test match game and also brought England into the game
Really a great player
If there is one English player i always want to see do well then it has to be Joe Root. What an amazing down to earth guy. Always has kind words for anyone and everyone he speaks about. Great chat.
My sentiments exactly !
A wonderful interview by the two English gentlemen, of one of the best test batsmen of this generation.
Absolutely spot on Mike 19:15 Ash has the mentality of a fast bowler in a spinner's body, a real competitor🔥
I think Athers should make a couple of posts about his Bombay and Delhi experiences, and his travel through India. It’ll be nice to hear a. gentleman Pom’s travelogue 😀
Thanks Joe for accepting the invitation to this podcast.
Absolutely top notch. Love these two. Hearing Joe speak was heartwarming. Nice bloke. Very honest. Very clear. Some straightforward questions. Some honest answers.
Hi Ather and Nas, please get Ben on your show sometime.
15:28 For Root talking about Ashwin vs Lyon
You can't help but "root" for Joe. He's a marvelous ambassador for the game and for England. This interview reveals that he does listen to his critics.
Lovely interview with Root 👌
Can hear them all day.
Joe is a wonderful, humble player - a modern great and a class act (as an Aussie I have huge respect for Yorkshire players like Root and Bairstow).
Enjoyable interview with obvious affinity between the guys.
In test cricket now there is no one better than Root.
If someone tells him not to get out,its hard luck for bowlers in any condition.
27:13 come on Rooty! You were a great captain! Players like Sam Curran and Jack Leach just flourished and bloomed under your captaincy!
This was such a beautiful podcast.. . Big fan of Athers and Nas and icing on the cake was Joe’s brilliant interview ..
Content Top class .. Humour top class ..
This is such an excellent show! Absolutely top class.
Michael & Nasser are such good speakers and they are so intelligent. I can hear them talk all day every day.
You two are the very best. What a pleasure listening to your conversation.
What a rosy rosy interview..no tough question about losses.
It is not a press meet lol
Well as England fans we're pretty pleased with the performance overall. So if you're expecting a lot of heat, you won't get it here
Just as they didn’t mention India blowing the World Cup final, at home.
Still more icc trophies than penglund 😂😂😂😂😂you rigged world cup 2019😂😂😂😂such a shame@@Seanc74

For someone who is arguably one of the greatest Eng batters, Joe Root comes across as a simple and humble human being. Resonates with his batting approach. Keep it simple and getting hundreds for fun. Loved his views. A true Eng legend!!
Good weather batsman...that is all.
these two are both top class individuals . add cook and finn to it . all 4 are great . wish we had all 4 for punditry in india
Absolutely Refreshing. Loved your dry humor all 3 Athers, Nass and Joe
Joe is really the best behaved and lovable guy
Root is a class individual. To be this good and this humble is a trait similar to SRT, the cricket may differ.
Absolutely love every second of listening to these two . Rooty joined too just making the podcast even more wonderful 💯
It is such an experience listening to these two absolute gentlemen of the game, Joe spoke so well too 👌👌😊😊
Congratulation mate jonny bairstow have a special player for england cricket and what an memorable career.
All three are best English Gentlemen and humble speaker, enjoyed enjoyed😉
Joe is looking like a 16 yr old teenager
I'm just amused that everyone speaks about the fitness of Kohli anderson etc....but Joe is also one of the fittest cricketer playing around.
Because he don't play IPL and T20 as often as Kohli
He doesn't play T20i's, ipl
Being slim and fit body doesn’t consider fit player
I am a great fan of both of you Athers and Nas. Thanks for doing these podcasts.
Why is Woakes not here? It was he with Wood who turned the Ashes series around last summer.
Woakes is in his mid-30s and hasn’t the pitch alight overseas, makes more sense to keep him back for the English summer
Great work guys...love to listen Ather's local explorations
What an amazing humility by Joe Root !! Great players are mostly humble.
Enjoy nas and athers humor.. awesome stuff guys.. keep both of them until thier last breath pls @sky
Always enjoy the lovely chat between Athers and Nass. Cricket, weather, interesting places in cities, a bit of gossip such as the Ambani wedding.. Wow! Keep 'em coming! And Athers, don't forget to mention about the food too! :)
Such an amazing podcast hearing athers, nas and rootsy a gentlemans podcast what's a mind relaxing talk
Always great to listen these two guys, so calm yet so intense & really nice mix of that typical dry English humour 😊
Three legends of the beautiful sport with great wit and banter. Joe is such a lovely bloke.
Joe Root is a class act. He wouldn't accept it here but he knows he did a mistake by going through those ramp shots and reverse sweeps. My point is: a person like Duckett may want to play those shots because he is not at all confident in his defence. But a Joe Root, who can score centuries casually, need not play those kind of shots. And, somewhere I like him when he plays orthodox cricket it brings beauty to orthodox classy cricket. We love test cricket in India and we love the classy cricket. Not a big fan of crazy shots!! I honestly don't think England achieved a major change under Bazball period. They have been a bit lucky with that Lyon's injury in the Ashes. To be honest, England is measured against Australia and India only, and they didn't beat either of them. You don't praise them because they played well against WI and Pakistan.
I think it’s circumstantial. Against Bumrah in this test, it was a bad decision and the timing of it was wrong. The shot as a whole is not an issue - it’s a means of manipulating the field and throwing the seamer off their line. Works against a Josh hazlewood type bowler who bowls a consistent line and length - not too smart against someone who varies pace/line and bowls yorkers
@@jtfc7286Actually It's the low bounce from the pitch did the trick that it had gone to the hand of fielder but In bouncy pitch it might gone above the fielder.
He played it at the wrong time on this occasion but he definitely isn’t putting it away for good and definitely hasn’t made a mistake by adding it to his game
@@bidhanchandraganthia9351yeah exactly - a bad decision given the circumstances, but my point stands that bumrah is not ever the bowler to do that to. It’s a premeditated shot, and you need to be very confident that they’re not gonna pitch the ball up which bumrah does a fair amount compared to some bowlers
@@jtfc7286 Yes for sure but humans do mistake.
Such a great player Root is yet that boyishness is very pleasing. Great fan of his batting. Wish him to score heavily during the next Ashes in Aus.
Cheers from Melbourne, home of best cricket stadium called The G
Very good discussion. Very natural.
Jonny Bairstow is the "Albatross" round England's neck
Harry Brook must replace him ASAP.
He’ll likely score a lot of runs if he plays in the summer - great player on a flat deck, not amazing elsewhere
I can't believe this guy has lasted 12 years. I was watching 2012 T20 WC match and he was there.
Root, what a fantastic cricketer and person. Would love for India to win the next test but also would love to watch Root score a ton. One of the best ever test batter!
Respect for such a fine cricketer and even finer human being. Root is so selflessly praising Ben and Mcullum and trying to downplay his tenure as captain
I love this podcast and such a joy to watch classic British banter between Nas and Atherton. Please never stop this show.❤
Joe Root is really a great cricketer and humble . I Always Like the way he bats and interacts. Wish him many more successful years of cricket.
Pleasure listening to nasser and Michael ❤ also Joe root is so humble!!
Joe root is such a gentleman❤
Should have asked root about jurel's innings and how they lost from there
Michael Atherton was sleeping at 21:43 😂😂
I just can't stop listening to these podcasts. These discuss everything with so much intellectual fluency.
In regards to Bairstow wanting to do everything to contribute, he should understand that giving Foakes the gloves is a larger contribution than trying to take them himself.

Fantastic interview by the greats of the game...really awesome and Joe you are someone we always watch out
Joe root best test batsman in the world ..no one comes close...if he had batted his game and not bazz ball things wud hav been different.... Atherton and naser Husain wat a great combo ...imagine manjrekar and gavaskar duo...thy just talk about som nonsene ..
Athers saying being blown away by Delhi, seems like the incessant honking has blown him. Look at Nass's reaction's too with sarcastic expressions
Ha ha ha ! Good one!
Seeing stokes expression as he stares down the barrell is giving a lot of satisfaction...love to see him GROVEL...
Root is absolute class 👌
Absolutely loved it how Joe root as a person and his views and approach and the way he speaks lot to learn from him.
Nas & Ather are absolutely great. It's the best show that always touches upon the real facts & questions. Keep up the good work. Always a pleasure listening 🙏
Great interview with Rooty. Class personified
I think you guys need to add Ravi Shastri in your podcast...and it will be mind-blowing
Joe root is the greatest Test batsman of all time
Wrong 😂
He is not the greatest of his time haha....
Steven smith is the greatest of this generation ...
Proved himself in every country ...
Joe root 's account is blank when it comes to aus ....
He has a very bad record there..
And even virat kohli is better than joe root ....he proved himself in every country not like williamson and root who have nothin to show when it comes to australian conditions
Joe Root is dropping a new album with that look.
What a pleasure listening to this conversation! Root, you beauty 🔥
Marnus labuschange is the huge batsman of the era. Great batsman 🎉
Kuch bhi 🙏
Huge batsmen 😂😂😂
Hardly heard of term "huge batsmen" 😂😂😂
He’s definitely not a Great. Overseas record isn’t quite good enough. He’s actually having a bit of a lean time of it currently anyway.
@@lingolarker9318 He is very good batsmen/ player .
He is average white ball player .
In red ball , he has to prove himself outside AUS , u can't be scoring 9/11 centuries in AUS and calling yourself great .
Bazzball is amazing, I hope they carry on with it.India is a difficult place to win test series . Only 2 teams managed in 21st century. 2004-The great Australian team and 2012-a very good English side.
If Bazball is so amazing where are England right now in the World Championship Test Table. Why have we not won a series since 2022 and why have we lost 6 of the last 10 tests. Soon to be 7 out of 11
@@thomridgeway1438coz Bazball doesn’t make the right tweaks, like playing to the situation, not trying to bash every ball, if they make the tweaks, they will actually be deadly
@@thomridgeway1438 India had a lot of young batters and that gave Eng a chance in this series. However, even though Ashwin & Jaddu weren't fit or available or in form always, those 3 together is the greatest spin attack in world cricket since Bedi, Prasanna and Chandra. Add Bumrah to that. Compare rookie spinners of Eng to that though Wood, Anderson bowled very well. Even Bashir overdelivered by a mile. It's facing all-time greatness for Eng batters vs Ind young batters facing honest triers.
@@thomridgeway1438 and where were England before bazzball??
@@SJ-te3jh Playing proper traditional cricket, but with no confidence. Now we play a white ball limited over game over 5 days with over confidence and still we lose!
As an Indian, I can say Root is a great batsman and is undervalued by mediocre player and coach like McCullum and a not so great player like Stokes.
Excellent podcast. Enjoyed Joe Root interview and wonderful discussions....🙏
Such great talks from these amazing cricketing folks.
Has there ever been a more humble superstar player than Joe Root?
Thanks Mike for spilling the beans on DK's last IPL!
Top class video. Indian media personnel should look at this . Currently Indian sports broadcast is too poor where they are just focus on worshipping 1-2 individuals like Kohli, Dhoni etc
Barstow will play wicketkeeper bats man it will help the team and team combination as well
Favourite cricket show
Sense of humour from Ather is simply superb.
Fan of this channel fan of Nass and ather
..........good and nice,,,,,,,, ,,,however the most important & wonderful moment will be......."" Vetran ANDERSON""""....... kissing 700 th test wicket at beautiful Dharamshala............Indians are very beautiful hearted ❤ ♥
6:10 you’ve got to love Boycs 😅
I think Root should stop overthinking what other teams are judging him on and just play his brilliant game
ECB need to create a management team to beat australia in australia and india in india. Both need different set of players. In india you need short stocky batsman who can crawl near ground. In australia you need Tall batsman who can hit the ball on top of the bounce. Also need mentally strong players who can take verbal abuse. if you take weak players they will choke.
Love your humour guys...love from india❤
joe root legend player
Joe Root is a legend, I was so happy for him when he got his hundred.
Surprisingly no questions were asked about Joe Root the bowler.
Joe Root is a great batter, a successful bowler and a very reliable fielder: my best player in the England side off all time|
Genuinely nice guy Joe.
What a guy Joe Root !!!
Captain Rohit Sharma is the first captain to defeat BazBall ❤
Bazball started just 2 years before not a big thing
These two should do a podcast everyday
Half of the podcast is for Bairstow I guess
Yes, they probably know this could be his last game literally 😂😂😂😂😂😂
When Joe shined in this series, he almost brought England on top with that first innings ton but unfortunately other batsmen gave it away in the 2nd innings against India's top class bowling.
Absolutely loved it!!
