As a Pakistani this is an outrageously splendid piece on Babar. One thing which i can add to that toe is that he was constantly criticised to up his strike rate in t20s. His strike rate wasn’t that great because he was playing close to his body and bowlers started bowling wide to him. They weren’t getting his wicket but it was keeping him from scoring runs at a higher strike rate. So he came up with this closed toe and his reach increased. It is a success in t20s but it’s a problem in longer format. He is getting bowled, lbw and gloving the ball to keeper which he used to hit for 4s. I wish he watches this video.
Similar issue with Shubman Gill. These two are just finding it difficult to adjust across different formats (I'm not comparing these two in terms of batting ability). I honestly think Babar Azam will bounce back soon. He has everything in him to be one of the best batters. But people in Pakistan are pulling him down, that is his biggest challenge, even bigger than the technical aspect of batting.
@@AyushRaj-rt6bbthere are very few players that can crack all 3 formats and play them at a top level consistently. The norm will become players choosing red ball or white ball which is a shame
@@J92-DS Cracking all the three formats is really the toughest job for a batter. You have to keep making adjustments in your techniques everytime you switch to another format. That's why someone like Virat Kohli is great and deserves even more appreciation because he excelled in all the 3 formats in his career which is a rarity. He was impactful in all the 3 formats he played and his name is thought of whenever any world 11 is made.
Good technical analysis! But I also think Babar needed to add a bit of bottom hand play to his game. Top hand game looks elegant but it also makes you miss a lot of deliveries that could be easily swatted away in the legside for 4/6 like done by Kohli. Even Rizwan uses his bottom hand and great swing to just swat spin & even 145+ kmph deliveries with ease. Bottom hand(& a bit opening up) also helps you adjust to sharp incoming deliveries. That is why Kohli gets LBW rarely and is so strong on the pads.
How is this analysis he just put forth a bunch of numbers and blamed it all on the PCB. Babar's fitness is an issue, the politics that Kimber talks about is Babar's own.

Pakistan has never had good captains between Akram and Misbah and after. That's also one of their biggest issues. Great video, Jared. I would request you to do a similar video on Shubman Gill who also has a very similar shuffle like Babar when they are just about to play the shot and also has a similar technical deficiency with the incoming balls similar to Babar, although Babar is slightly more compact than Gill in that department. Compare Gill's stance from his Under 19 WC days to what is today and you will notice it's not as compact as what it was earlier and that leads to at times creating gap between bat and pad leading to him getting bowled or lbw. Both Babar and Gill due to the nature of their shuffle tend to have similar issues as well. I would request you to do the next video on Gill as it would be another interesting case study. Please keep up the good work.
Great analysis Jarrod, like always but I have a bone to pick with statisticians who rely on false shots to analyse batters. Missing a delivery that’s in the stump line and mistiming a pull shot cannot be given an equal weightage. Great analysis! However, I want to clarify one thing: it's not his toe, but his head that's the issue. Let me explain why. Dealing with a chaotic board and external pressures isn't new for Pakistan cricket. In the past, players like Wasim, Waqar, and Inzamam faced similar challenges, but they demonstrated the mental toughness to rise above those hurdles and still perform brilliantly. For Babar, it's crucial to strengthen his mindset. He needs to overcome these mental barriers and win us an ICC trophy. So, in my opinion, the issue isn’t his toe, it’s his head.
Along with technical analysis, his issue has also to do with some of former players hyping and branding him like he has already achieved everything but the fact is he is just a decent to good player
What a great analogy, people from our country and worldwide putting criticism on Babar not knowing how important and crucial stability in a cricket board and system matters. Another thing, I think did effect babar azam is how the entire media and now country at large has came for his head. For some one who has been your best batter in the last decade, he is being ridiculed, made fun of and abused online and on TV. His own fans have turned against him, people are calling him names and mocking him. For someone who has contributed soo much to his country, seeing the nation absolutely disowning him must be heartbreaking. When needed support thr most from his board and nation, they turned their back on him. They have completely brushed his achievement under the rug and now people say he was never good. Like it has to be disheartening, how can one continue putting in effort when all his hard work has been reduced to zero. Like if I was in his place I woild have said eff this and retired.
Great work! for what I understand from your analysis babar started playing little passive , not attacking the bowler or there is any kind of doubt on his aggressive abilities. If you look at the pie chart on "10:15" you can see that in good period of babar he got stumped almost 2% and then when you see the current bad form period you can see there is no stumping in almost 2-3 years. What it shows that babar is going passive and not trusting his ability to score much better when he was aggressive and attacked bowler.
He was just loaded with pressure in pakistan, they needed a competitor for kohli, so they rushed this talented player into making him something he wasnt ready for, his PCB has failed him, now he has tasted money, he will never leave it for joining domestic cricket, as it doesnt have money.
Even when He played away from Pakistan.. Most of the times, he faced B Or C Grade sides.. New Players being tried by other countries. But as soon as he face full sides & experienced players, then he get exposed..
You clown He faced Styyn, morkel, Rabada, Northje, Parnell, Morris, Moeen, Rashid, Stokes, Broad, Anderson, Cummins, Hazle, Starc, Lyon, during overseas tours he scored decent runs I cam mention one of the he scored 250+ runs agaimst Lyon with 50 avg in test 😂😂 again you clowm have zero cricketing sense
I watched your analysis and after that I was watching Babar's batting at the Champions Cup 2024. I have reason to believe that he has corrected that mistake of his and now his toe is pointing towards cover once again. Can you check and confirm that?
More of i think playing and scoring against 2nd/3rd string teams of Australia/Nz/Sa many times hides his technical issues Which get exposed in icc tournaments when teams come up with A side Its upto him if he 2ant to resolve and do really he have the fire to become the best!

Excellent work Jarrod
Great Analysis
best analyst after wasay habib
2 goats wasay and kimber
Please do make a video on the PCB situation. No one else makes content like you do.
Congrats on 100K
Dude u r an absolute genius... No wonder Behram Qazi speaks soooo Highly of u....
Thank you sir 🎉
absolutely great analysis about king babar
He was just loaded with pressure in pakistan, they needed a competitor for kohli, so they rushed this talented player into making him something he wasnt ready for, his PCB has failed him, now he has tasted money, he will never leave it for joining domestic cricket, as it doesnt have money.
Top work
Someone send this vid to Babar
Fantastic!
Thanks sir u have great insight
Please Add A Option of "Send to Babar"
Can we do this for Kohli as well?
He seems to have had his own struggles with form, and continues to struggle even now, if I may say so.
Even when He played away from Pakistan..
Most of the times, he faced B Or C Grade sides.. New Players being tried by other countries.
But as soon as he face full sides & experienced players, then he get exposed..
You clown
He faced Styyn, morkel, Rabada, Northje, Parnell, Morris, Moeen, Rashid, Stokes, Broad, Anderson, Cummins, Hazle, Starc, Lyon, during overseas tours he scored decent runs
I cam mention one of the he scored 250+ runs agaimst Lyon with 50 avg in test
😂😂 again you clowm have zero cricketing sense
I watched your analysis and after that I was watching Babar's batting at the Champions Cup 2024. I have reason to believe that he has corrected that mistake of his and now his toe is pointing towards cover once again. Can you check and confirm that?
You are a genius. Babar needs to watch this video
More of i think playing and scoring against 2nd/3rd string teams of Australia/Nz/Sa many times hides his technical issues
Which get exposed in icc tournaments when teams come up with A side
Its upto him if he 2ant to resolve and do really he have the fire to become the best!
