@@CharlieXFBA ... Playing such ridiculous shots a couple of times in an innings is very different than doing it regularly. After bazball has been introduced plz tell me how many centuries has Root scored? After Alistair Cook I really look upto Joe Root and I feel very bad seeing a player of his stature getting out to playing shots like these. When he can play beautiful drives why does he need to sweep ! You should see his innings in the last 6 years.. must watch.. till bazball started off. It's way he is getting out trying to force the runs which he would have otherwise scored much easily and at his comfort.

@@jrudresh1 this time i agree with you... on indian pitches you cannot trust the bounce so its better to play conventional drives here with straight bat... reverse shots can only be played to spinners... root has made a mistake by attempting that to a fast bowler pitches are not good for that shot... ollie pope attempted that on 196 and missed out on a well deserved double hundred... hope this time they learn from it and try to score with conventional shots just like duckett... 👍

the reason they play this so called Bazball stuff is also because of the fact that they don't have a grt defensive game barring joe root and to some extent Crawley and Stokes....It has helped a lot of their players as well to be honest, look how Zak crawley has blossomed as an opener from the way he was earlier under Joe Root for example

One of the thing about Bazball no one talked about, especially these English pundits, is that for Bazball you need ODI kind of flat tracks. They had to trim off all green from English tracks to play Bazball Ashes. So bringing back crowd in by killing the skills in Test? No thank you ! Let these Braistrows play T20, we dont need to make flat tracks for these guys.

I think part of the Ashes strategy was to negate any nip and movement for Hazlewood and Starc, let alone Cummins. You don't play to your enemy's strengths (insane fast bowling talent), so I think that was part of the plan also.

@@markwood7045 True, but not entirely. Anderson and Broad are on par with Hazlewood and Starc on those surfaces. But the Bazzballing batters of England would have been no match to Smith, Labuchagane.
