This is still the best character build guide I have watched. He is thinking outside the box with his recommendations and making good arguments for his decisions. Additionally even if you want to play your character differently than he does, he explains how to make those decisions on where to put points that make sense. Great Job.
I know this video is old, but with the free stat points you get in athletics and crafting, once you have levelled you endurance skills fully, go to the arena and swap the perks to get the other perks. If you’ve maxed athletics and crafting (riding too if you want to I guess) you don’t need 10 END anymore, so drop it back down to 8 and get the other points. Same with the Control and vigor choices. Once you’re as high as you’ll get, swap
My character in the video is level 34 so there's a little more room to level. With the extra focus points you get after, you should try to push to Unwavering defense (225 One handed) for +5 hp to you and outstanding +10 hp to your infantry. And also the first perk in the medical tree, the one that restores 30% health after each battle. Cheers!
You need at least 3 focus points in smiting to unlock the free attributes perks. And since we have high endurance, we might as well be legendary smith. Im working on a fully minmaxed that will feature only 3 fp in smiting. Stay tuned
My problem is that I like various skills: Polearm and Twohanded - Bow and Throwing - Riding and Athletics - Scouting and Roguery - Charm and Leadership - Medicine and Engineering. I have high medicine skill, 5 years into game it's 250, soon it will be 275. Polearm is probably the best weapon one can use, short swing and long for couch lance. Scouting is easy but fun. Roguery is awesome, you can earn some great loot on the way.
You can start a sandbox campaign, with 50 years old option to gain more attributes and focus points. That way you can specialize in even more skills. But I suggest you turn off the death and birth options, because your character is likely to die from old age. Also in this mode you are giving up on the OP siblings compaions.
should have made a page/spreadsheet or something for the skill points or atleast had a portion of the video where you went through the skill tree points in order so we could easily find what you put points into.
Had kinda the same idea, but I went with : 5 Vig - 5 (1h) - 5 (2h) 2 Ctr - 5 (bow) 9 End - 4 (Riding) - 5 (Athletics) - 4 (Smithing) 3 Cng - 5 (scouting) - 2 (Tatics) 9 Soc - 4 (charm) - 5 (leadership) 2 Int - 2 (Medicine) I went with 5 Scouting instead of 5 trading to get the second perk (225) preventing prisoners from escaping the party. I went with 2 healing instead of roguery to get +10 hp and +30% recovery of lost hp after battles etc., 2 focus points in tactics to get +10 troops and some bonuses for passive battles. In total it should give+ 96 troops, +86-88 Character-hp, +5% dmg and 2% swing speed with 2h-weapons. All troops get + 5 hp, Infantry gets + 15 hp + several 1h and 2h bonuses.
cool build, I think id rather invest in scouting to be the party scout and get the perk for -50% chance prisoners escape it pairs well with a riding perk that has the other -50%. prisoner escape
Just loved your content. I really enjoy the game. I play with Linux as my OS, with that I have some frustrating problems. Like (a) only weapon strike is overhead. (b) weapon swap at any time , usually finish up trying to punch my way out when surrounded by armed warriors. Thought just struck, I will only carry one weapon. Yes keep up the content & now that I have found your channel, I will follow.
ignore social and max medicine in your main char. because final perk in medicine; "Your troops get +1 hit point for every 2 skill points above 200 medicine skill" . 300 meds means +50 health point each men you have party. its like cheat mode. dont give medicine compen cause final perks only for clan leader.
100%. With both this game and war band it was like my fourth or fifth Playthru that ended up being the one that I stuck with. You kind of have to master the early game before you’re even able to successfully pull off any next stage in this
I don´t invest much into healing but I always get the personal healing rate, it´s too darn noticeable after a fight. I know, you have to cut elsewhere but I usually only use one weapon and it´s the glaive on horseback. I never reload in a game, so my build is mostly made for long term sustenance.
Main level is the totality of all skill experience. So whatever you choose to increase learning limit/speed will level you the fastest. With that said, some skills are harder to level depending on what stage of the game you are. Leadership, for example, is hard to level until you start rolling im an army. Then it becomes easy and you get passive experience as long as you are in an army. For most of the game you will get steady experience from fighting skills and athletics/riding. You can do bandit lairs, tournaments and normal fights, which you should be doing anyway. Hope that helps!
I used to think that picking more than one melee weapon was a waste of points, but there are a lot of perk that are nice even when not wielding that weapon. And you get nice captain bonuses from having multiple weapons. I haven't looked but maybe crossbow and thrown have perks that are worth it? I'm thinking of a polearm plus three stacks of throwing as one setup and switch back to bow if it's an important battle. I agree endurance and social are most important, but having medicine is nice for backup and the first perk and stewardship is the easiest skill to train. It will increase your level so will slow down other skills if too high?
So I was wondering how this would perform if you cut out the high riding skill? Invest those points into another weapon skill or something like engineering.
So many guides recommend putting attribute points in Social and Intelligence. The idea being that you need to max out Medicine to get the bonus HP for your troops with the Minister of Health perk. I've always wondered why this was a good idea. Can't your Surgeon get this perk to increase HP of the troops or does it only apply to the player? Update: Just read a comment in Steam (dated Nov 10) where someone else asked the same question about whether Surgeon could use this perk. Someone actually tested and found that the perk doesn't work with your Surgeon; only works with the player.
Minister of health is certainly great, but you can't have it all. I love my character to be a great warrior. Also I hope that this perk will be changed eventually.
Yes. If I remember correctly, those are weapons from mods. th-cam.com/video/6OfcqfAtGb4/w-d-xo.html this video has the weapon and armor mods in the build video. Hope that helps.
You should get your own medicine to 25 to increase your HP or your own speed , great video btw I will be building something similar with bow Two handed potentially 1 handed, no riding, throwing or polearm with some stewardship involved as I like to be my own steward
Yeah even with only 2 INT and 5 focus points, you could reach very acceptable stewardship skill. Let me know how your build looks like in its final form!
@@alexsmith6322 yeah same goes for steward, not in the sense of really useful perks (there are some) but just the daily exp you get from having good food variety and a large army is insane. This is also Character exp making your overall level high without too much effort. You dont even need to spend to many FP on steward since xp gain will be the same but high steward is ncie for reduced wages and food consumption if you go 275+
Why veterans go for steward is for the easy character exp that comes with it. if you got good food variety and a large army your character levels up really fast having 9 food types and around 100 troops you can earn around 1000 character exp every single day. Thats comparable to like 5-10 kills in battle. and you get this every single day for free. It just makes everything go so much faster. Since you level up faster you get FP earlier making those skills level up faster. thats the reason they are their own steward. its not for the perks its for the character exp
When you free him up, he will have all his attributes and focus points reset. He will also have high skills in most of the skills already. Thats why hes the most op companion. :)
@@nunyadambidness8568 if you are playing on sand box mode, theres no siblings to free up. They only spawn in campaign mode. Also Im not too sure about the console version :S
I disagree big time with your bow perk selection, the first perk especially. By the time you reach late game/noble bow, which will be more of your playthrough, Head shots will kill in one shot and body shots will take two for armored enemies, period, almost regardless of perk. The bonus headshot is nice for doing 250 damage with one shot, but that’s enough to kill most enemies twice over so it’s just not a perk that helps you once you’re wielding the Noble bow at archery 70
@@hexxatgaming totally. I actually haven’t thought about shooting the lords in the head that’s a great point. Honestly I think they did a good job in a lot of ways with the perks (bad in some ways too) but the best part is that, almost every choice in perk that doesn’t come down to (one being governor and one being party leader) truly has both viable, you could take either one and succeed
@@hexxatgaming well im okay with smithing and trade lvling exploit hehe, it make game easier and more relaxing, but i think from the perspective of hardcore player its not ok maybe.....
Very stupid way to allocate attribute points, in my opinion but of course, everyone plays as they like. My advice would be never go full endurance or anywhere close to that. However, it`s the most important one and I`ll explain why: 4 attribute points to endurance is enough and 4 focus points to athletics will get you to 175 perk that gives you that extra endurance attribute point. You get the second one from smithing 225 and with 6 attribute points to endurance and another 4 focus points spent in riding to get that 50% less chance for prisoners to escape. (I`m not getting into these details for you but for people who don`t know because you`ve obviously talked about them in the video). With 6 attribute points to endurance and 4 skill points to riding and athletics you can get both 225 perks. The bad part, the one you`re ignoring, it`s the scouting perk at 225. The one that cumulates with the 50% less chance for prisoner lords escaping that I just mentioned and does the exact same thing. Regardless how you play, unless you plan to take no part in fief conquering, you cannot ignore these 2 perks that permanently keep enemy lords as prisoners. Also, on the fighting bit, I`d ignore spending focus points and any weapons, except 2 for bows at max. With the extra 2 attribute points you can pick up for control you can take bow up to 100 for merry men, which is the only one you need there.
