  • Kyle and I go into a really deep dive on his healing from long COVID and chronic fatigue and how what started out as trying to heal from physical symptoms took him on a much deeper journey into understanding the mind.
I had first connected with Kyle when he reached out to me to be a guest on his TH-cam channel. If you are interested in that here is the link below to the interview I did with him.

Wow, this interview was so awesome, and I will definitely revisit this recovery story again. I believe you said it all, Kyle.

Your journey sounds a lot like mine in terms of the constant searching and learning and trying so many angles. And I think it does boil down to acceptance.
Unfortunately, I got stalled out and scared of “awareness” during meditation and I’m swirling there unable to feel safe. Stuck but still pushing to move forward in any way I can!
I’m so glad you experienced success. It gives hope!
    Thank you!

Thx :) Raelan Agle for recovery stories. If you're interested in deeper awakening ( no idea if you are) then Simply Always Awake is the channel I recommend, it's Angelo who I mention was key for my later shifts

Sometimes too much meditation can also be very taxing on the nervous system. Dr. Willoughby Britton did a lot of research on this topic. Very similiar to how other healing modalities can be too much for very sensitive people. Not a lot of people in modern western societies are well connected to their bodies & often don't realize when they're overstepping their body's boundaries. Great interview!

Yeah I'm aware of Willoughby's work, I feel like it's all about how one approaches it, like with anything. For me I had no way out but to meditate and it was life changing, but I think approaching it with a LOT of compassion and loving acceptance work was key. I've also had incredibly destabilizing experiences with meditation sometime but I see it all as part of the process and agree that finding an intuitive flow with what feels healthy for any individual is key!

@life.withkyle yes, agreed. In this interview this topic is discussed too. th-cam.com/video/nBH3u2OPERM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=YEKkm-5mGM0d3_60

I am working out 6 days a week and doing 25k steps a day. I can see my body is fighting back. I have symptoms that are always bouncing around and moving around. I know they’re not physical problems and that I’m fine but the whole thing is just getting really exhausting to live with. Is my only option to slow down and reduce activity? Or keep going and try to teach the system that I am safe and the symptoms are not necessary

You might be doing too much without much rest or parasympathetic time. Also not sure if you’re anxious or what your mind is like and how you approach the day. Remember it’s about your mind not your body but if some people are completely pulled back from living life and exercise then that is important for them to get going. Your are already going maybe it’s too much

I don’t doubt that this approach works in some cases but I think it works by others means. I think all this stuff has to do more with the placebo effect, that may work in any condition, than with these illnesses aren’t organic

I wish long interviews would be broken down into chapters with timestamps so we can skip ahead to the important parts.. then go back at a later time to see the rest...

Why is almost every success story from those who were top athletes before being taken down by chronic illness? One would have thought maybe that helped with anxiety. Maybe the loss of those coping skills makes it so much worse. I can relate. Stressercise.

    • @life.withkyle
      @life.withkyle 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

Yeah it's very common, I believe it points to the state of the nervous system of many who push themselves really hard athletically and don't have healthy coping mechanisms for stress outside of exercise.
That was definitely the case for me, pushed myself very hard in many areas and eventually I needed to learn healthier ways to process stress and emotions etc.

Seems like we obsess and strive to be better at our respective sports or athletic goals to prove something.
Our nervous systems constantly getting the signals that we’re not good enough the way we are.
Once we can feel like we are enough our nervous systems can calm down and we can still go after goals but for different, better reasons.
It seems like just knowing this, if it’s true for you, can be enough to get over it. You just have to sit with yourself and those feelings the way they are and the way you are.
