1980 in Tehran my neighbor had a Mark V with Dark Brown with beige Top! At age 12 every time I pass that car my mouth was wide open with my eyes popped out😂 Beautiful video ❤ and an epic car👍🙏
Love this car , beautiful color, love the chrome and real bumpers. Made the cars look nice. Cars today look too plain, no chrome to make it stand out. Again beautiful.
I fell in love with this car while watching the series: CANNON, it's William Conrad's car at the time in this series and I still love this car as much!!!
@@williamcochran3281 some black interiors are very good if they have black leather with wooden trim but now this days a lot of different colors interior has gone unfortunately
I had a 1978 Mark V around 20 years ago. Not a "special edition". Medium metallic blue with a white top and mostly white interior. Beautiful car, but it didn't fit in my garage and got less than 8 mpg. As big as it was on the outside, it was amazingly small on the inside. As nice as it looked, it had problems, especially the Duraspark II ignition, which left me stranded a few times. I kept it for a little over a year and gave up.
My parent's friend bought one of these brand new, Quad, instead of a stereo Lincoln used, so they offered Quad in these cars. Being young then that was the only thing that interested me.
7:11 This is what kids today don't understand about horsepower. It was the torque that mattered in everyday driving with these vehicles and they moved along just fine. The American manufacturers were actually brilliant in using the detuned, almost strangled, big V8s because you couldn't kill the torque numbers in them and they did the job with great smoothness too.
NO-- check the price of gas back then and check it today and factor in the INFLATION of the USD unto now. You will see little has changed. It's called Economics 101 that so few can't grasp.
This is fact: Beautiful car BUT it has been in a coma for all these years. What does that mean? It means ALL the seals and gaskets are dried up, brittle and have no ability to perform their job. It means ALL the mechanical moving parts are now awake but so weak they are worthless and will need to be replaced. Any buyer will have to rebuild this car in totality and it will cost thousands$. It's worthless unless you have the mechanical knowledge to do it all. I know, been there.

Beautiful!! I've had 2 different Lincoln's but I wasn't lucky enough to get a Mark V!!

Whatta creampuff! Love the 2tone interior leather. Turbine wheels! Noice!
You could land an aircraft on that hood, dang. Great example of a classic personal luxury coupe.
Absolutely Gorgeous!
Prestige in every sense is worth a thousand likes.❤❤❤
Now That's How America Builds A Car ! Do It Again !!!

Cela est vrai. En couleur c'est bien mieux.

Beautiful classic. See it went for $36K!
Surprising, thought it would be closer to 50k
To fix it add another $36.
Ah yes, it's my favorite car, I love it, a very high-end car, it's the best!!!
My parent's friend bought one of these brand new, Quad, instead of a stereo Lincoln used, so they offered Quad in these cars. Being young then that was the only thing that interested me.
❤ I like the new cars you got air bags
And it's also my favorite color!!!

Well they did kill the torque as well. Lower compression ratios to meet emission standards robs both power and torque.
@@foxxster3565 Relative to the previous numbers, but they were still decent enough to move these vehicles.
Une merveille de l'automobile.....................
Esta precioso ese Lincoln
These yank tanks always had such short wheelbases compared to their overall length but I've never found out why
It may takes a great deal of work to keep this car in such a great condition.
Need a dust free, well lit clean garage. Wide garage doors too.
Had three of them and they loved wax
Wow
Amazing
Quiet elegant sofisticated
What’s the aftermarket radio?
Is there something even larger and bigger than that thing?

If you got in a head on collision you knew about it later.
TRUE FACT: A very good friend years ago said that same thing and he and his wife had a head on collision and both died.
