When they announced that the maned wolf would be the chosen animal, counterfeiters created a 200 note of their own design and it was in circulation before the real deal was released. The thing is: the fake note was MUCH prettier than the actual one. There were a lot of memes on the internet about how ugly the real design was, given how beautiful the wolf is and how good the counterfeit's design was. It's an unnecessary and ugly note.
here in brazil it was said that the note was created to facilitate the financial assistance the government gave for people with money issues on the pandemic. but since then, i never heard anything about it, no complains, nor compliments, the thing that we meme about, is that the actual wolf is sUUper beautiful, and the one on the note is TERRYFINGLY UGLY
@@irmaosmatos4026 the fish itself is not a beautiful thing, at least it's well represented. The wolf on the other hand I cant event tell whether the furr was bad drawed or the animal was caught on fire
The problem with the 200 note is that it's hard to exchange for smaller notes. When I got it in my hands, people are always annoyed at how big it is, and we always have a conversation along the lines of "why did they release such a big value note, if exchanging a 50 is already hard enough"

I strongly dislike that they broke off with the size differentiated tradition of the original set. I do not buy the "it was an emergency" excuse at all. Any time you have to issue 450 million of smtg - the very nature of such a large order demands loads of time, procedure, logistics, and resources. Time in which they could have simply bought or made bigger matrices or templates ... whatever the term is. IMO this was an intended design decision. Some Bolsonaro shenanigans. Otherwise a fine note. Something curious the 200 reais, the euros, and the Bulgarian lev (mostly on higher value note) and I believe others share this glimmering deep green color on the numerical value of the notes. I wonder if this is some special feature that is difficult to replicate, or that perhaps the color has some other peculiar significance.
The glimmering green colour is actually a safety feature, if you tilt the banknote the color changes from dark green to dark brown-ish. I guess Central Banks from all around the world buy this printer colour or technology from the same company so they all look similar.
Os gringos têm dificuldade de entender que os memes do Brasil não têm limites. Iremos memear até a morte e todos estiverem convencidos de que estamos sério.
these animals were decided long ago, for every new banknote, there's already an animal waiting for it. but the irony is the 200reais note was promoted and released at the same time those criminal fires were burning some of the natural habitat for the maned wolf
Groos although taxation is thwft and all politicians are guilty of it, making forgery easier does not help them in any way. Imagine finding out your entire fortune of bills store in your house because you can’t use a bank is composed of fake bills? Yeah.
*who dares summon me??* Seriously speaking on the note itself: I think the largest criticism one can make about it is how hard it is to "break" into smaller notes. Despite the inflation, it's sometimes hard to get service when all you have is a R$50 bill, so imagine how hard it is now to get service if you only have a R$200 bill. realistically speaking, this banknote will only make life for the average Brazilian harder.

When they announced that the maned wolf would be the chosen animal, counterfeiters created a 200 note of their own design and it was in circulation before the real deal was released. There were a lot of memes on the internet about how ugly the real design was, given how beautiful the wolf is and how good the counterfeit's design was. It's an unnecessary and ugly note.
