    This is why ive stuck by my 20' yamaha yz250fx... tuning from my phone. Its an absolute game changer. Immediately changing the experience while riding the bike. ERM will be a game changer if it's proves to be stable and reliable.

      I have wondered since EFI entered the dirt bike scene why more manufacturers don’t offer a tuning option. That 250fx is such a versatile bike.

      @@ChuckfromTrueTech That's odd, because it's not hard to find. The only exception to this law is Trials bikes.

    This looks like a great product that works exactly as intended. However, it is extremely unlikely anyone would ever notice a 1 degree difference in ignition timing or a 1% fuel change. I've got calibration experience on dyno, and those changes would basically be un measurable. Run to run variation would be higher than those changes. If you were to look at live in-cylinder pressure traces you may be to see the difference but it will still be very small. We used to not bother making ignition timing changes that were under 3 degrees. I've seen test drivers with a lot of experience have no clue that I made a drastic change if I did not tell them first. I've also told them I made a change and done nothing, then had them come back asking me to put it back how it was before.
    The injector relocation does have some good merit to it though. The atomization is likely much better and should greatly improve high load high rpm power. Obviously this would require changes to the cal, especially to the injector phasing, which I believe TSP changes.

      All Canadian pumps now have ethanol in the fuel. My bike started detonating. I made 1-2% changes across the fuel map and detonation has completely stopped. I’ve been making 1% changes regularly since I made this video last year and the differences are absolutely noticeable.
      A 2 degree change in ignition timing amounted to a 30-40F coolant temp change while riding with my kids.
      It sounds to me like your experience may be in cars. I have no experience tuning cars, but on a bike a 1% change is noticeable to someone familiar with their machine.

      @@ChuckfromTrueTech maybe moot point, but I thought ethanol increased the octane rating of fuels? You mention ethanol like it is decreasing octane rating and caused the detonation. Just looking to learn.

      @@Jrod_FPV Ethanol does increase octane rating but it also causes a leaner air/fuel ratio.

    Good job on this video. Off topic…but what brand/model are your bark busters?
    Also, I’m waiting delivery of my ERM for the primary purpose of programming computer to stop fouled plugs at cold starting of KTM150xcw. Do you think there will be a fix?

    • @ChuckfromTrueTech
      @ChuckfromTrueTech  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Bark Busters are “Barkbuster” brand from Australia with Emperor Racing bar clamps (pn MK-07.)
      The Barkbusters are the toughest hand guards I’ve encountered & the mounts keep them from rotating.
      There is a good chance that the TSP map that comes with the ERM will stop the fouling. If not there are a couple other potential issues.

    Hi Chuck, yes it's a new world for fuel injected two strokes, I just got an ERM myself. My TPI is already with the stock TSP map and injector relocation kit running better than ever before. Did you manage to tune your TPI to lug and pull hard without sending spoge the exhaust?

    • @ChuckfromTrueTech
      @ChuckfromTrueTech  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I had it running without spooge, but I made some changes that I like better and now it’s spooging a bit.

    • @ptft4
      @ptft4 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I had mine running without spooge today and logging quite well but when it cools down it runs like a carb bike without choke until it's hot again. I never had this problem with the ktm map, it's like the TSP map doesn't provide more fuel in the warm-up period.

      I’m loving the split system. Bottom end power is maintained and the mid to top is now a rocket ship. No issues with fuel pooling like in some of the setups. The ERM is definitely the key to dialling it in.

    It’s cool but will it help you diagnose issues? I personally have had no issues n have 150 hours. But a friend of mine is having major bogging issues in the low end and dealerships can’t even diagnose.

    • @ChuckfromTrueTech
      @ChuckfromTrueTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is exactly what I want to use it for. I’ve had a handful of bikes now that run poorly despite verifying everything is in spec. When I put a TSP map in, the problems disappear. This will allow me to swap ECUs as a diagnostic measure and to add & subtract fuel & ignition in extreme cases or to fine-tune for sensitive riders. I’ve already made significant changes to my personal bike.
